Oh, I did turn in a ticket, Khory. That's when CS told me I would have to get a new membership. No way, Jose. I can't access the code necessary to fix the Club's accessing and using credit card information that had already been deleted by me. I had entered my new card info 2 weeks before. Internal DAZ, well-known to DAZ, glitch which they don't seem to be able to fix. My choice: I will not be a member of the PC+ and that money is used elsewhere.
Yes, Richard. The old was cancelled and a new one issued. I deleted the old info and entered the new. It works fine with store purchases, but PC+ continutes to pick up the old info which was deleted and should not be anywhere in the system. IIRC, we have been assured repeatedly that DAZ does not retain any deleted card information. Hah!! Some part of the system evidently does and Support is unable to do anything about it, except to tell me that I have to buy a new membership. I could do that, but why should I have to. It's not my error and I'm not going through the hassle of doing it, then asking for a refund (which I might or might not get). My job is to give DAZ the correct information, not correct their code.
Been in the same boat like the op, which resulted in me staying away from DAZ for a while, because it added on top of something which got me upset already, which I'm not allowed to mention, and I'm also not allowed to mention why I'm not allowed to mention it, or someone here will do something which I again am not allowed to mention. And I'm pretty sure I'm even not allowed to mention what I have just mentioned. ;-p
Whatever, I need to comment on this, really, because exactly the same happened to me and no, I'm not too stupid to read, but I'm not used to digging for information that should be clearly visible. In my country such hidden terms are so called "unexpected terms and conditions", because they were not explicitely mentioned or linked on where I purchased those - the basket, such unexpected terms and conditions are therefore not valid (in my country). Sure, you can find it somewhere, but that's not how it works or how you make customers happy.
So, they did improve on communicating the conditions of the Platinum Club during the order process, which is where you usually upgrade to PC and where you don't got any info about the terms & conditions. I did check the Platinum Club page but, being a new member, I did not realize that there is an extra store page for the PC membership with tons of more details, which you really want to know beforehand. So when I raged about this forum and wanted to quit PC, I had to find out it had renewed prior the end date of my membership, no notice was given beforehand. This did not relief my rage, you might imagine.
After a discussion with customer support, I finally said it's okay this time, but they really should improve on communicating such things, as angry customers are gone customers, which helps nobody at all. They did improve on this, I realized when I added PC membership again this year, but it's still not optimal - a simple mail that a renewal is due, talking about the date when they withdraw the money, not when the membership actually expires, is not too much asked and would prevent such things. Happy customers = good customers.
True. I have had nothing but good service from Daz since I joined in Sept. but honestly I am not sure why they just wouldn't take it out on the day its due. I know a lot of places do it early but still, it would be nice to get notification. I write the stuff down on my calender as well but if its a year away I may still miss it. any many people live on a really tight budget, something like this can really cause havoc with their finances.
That's what the post you quote was explaining - Daz does not store the card details, Daz stores an autorisation for that oen repeat payment (which is then routed to the card by the card issuer). That's why you were told you needed a new membership - there's no stored card info for Daz to edit on the old one.
I wouldn't be surprised if DAZ has to give a range of days because the CC compaies, Paypal, etc. require it.
So you get reminded if you are NOT automatically enrolled. Hmm.
Nope.
I had autorenewal on, AND got 2 e-mail notifications before the expiration.
This is what I got from Customer Support:
"Unfortunately; there is an error in the system that is causing the shopping cart to revert back to the old CC on file.
Until this issue is resolved, you will need to cancel your current PC membership here: https://www.daz3d.com/subscription and then re-purchase it with your new CC here: http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-plus.
I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."
My subscription ends tomorrow but got no notifications, I decided to cancel my membership as I don't see any advantages or benefits, I was on the recurring three month plan during two uninterrupted years and never received Bijou or any anniversary gift, nor a thank you notice for my loyalty, even my birthdate got unnoticed, monthly coupons expire, most of the time I ended up buying at 60% on flash sales, 70% on fast grabs, or additional discounts if I bought certain products, like new released characters, ej: buy Mei Lin now I get 25% on Lee when it lands, so, now I have clear that the actual fun is outside PC+ membership.
Right now I'm on my 35th page of my Product Library, I'll continue to spend money on the DAZ Store because of the great product quality, but not on the membership as it is a waste of money.
I cancelled the other day, a few hours after saying I was considering it. I've amassed 50 pages in my product library over around eighteen months, and although I've got more than enough to keep me going, much of it is obscure or obsolete stuff acquired cheaply in order to get the 'best' price on something I actually wanted ('I can get that $12 product I want even cheaper with my PC+ coupon if I buy something I might need one day to push my cart price over $18!' Hmmm... okaaay) and PC Club 'freebies' that I'll never use. I think there's been one (maybe two) freebies I'd have actually wanted to buy in all the time I've been a member, which puts quite a high price on them when you take the total cost of membership into account too. I'll just be buying what I want and need when I want and need it for a while - even at full price, I expect that to work out cheaper in the long run. As for the PC forum, I won't miss it. There's the odd fun thread, but it mostly seems to be full of people complaining or trying to understand what's required of baffled shoppers attempting to participate in the latest convoluted Daz promotion. Yes, there are those things out on the main forums too, but the main forums are where all the tutorials and discussions worth visiting go on.
Having used up this month's coupons before I cancelled, for the last few days I've had no need to trawl the store trying to get the best value for them or to visit the forums trying to find out whether others have found flaws in items I'm considering or whether sharper minds than mine (most of them!) have spotted yet another store glitch that's about to cost me money. Instead I've been getting plenty of work done and expanding my skills by spending time watching or reading some of the gazillion free tutorials there are out there. There suddenly seem like loads more hours in a day, and I feel kind of... released :)
I'm not saying I've entirely written off the idea of ever re-joining the PC club. Things become obsolete fairly quickly in this industry and there will doubtless come a time when I need a stack of stuff just to keep what I've got usable, by which time the PC Club will start looking like a bargain again and I'll have saved a ton of time and money by not being in it :) Next time round I'll be more aware that alongside the opportunity to pick up a bargain, Daz is selling me an obligation to keep shopping here for x amount of months and I'll rein it in sooner. Being done with that obligation for the forseeable feels great.
Did you check your spam folder?
Yep, I check that folder once or twice a day, I received the "Welcome to the Platinum Club" back on 2014 and subsequent "Platinum Club Quarterly Membership" mails, and 297 Order Confirmation mails, do the math, 297 orders in 2 year span period, it only shows I've been busy browsing the store...
I've seen so many people complain about the daily e-mails randomly stopping. Is it possible that if an e-mail address bounces for even a temporary reason, it gets taken off all notifications?
Forum notifications mess up all the time too. As it's inconsistent and popup notifications also stop when the emails stop on random posts, it's clearly a notification issue rather than an issue with people's emails. I wouldn't be surprised if the people who didn't get notified of the renewal were meant to but simply never got their emails sent out to them.
Personally PC+ has been extremely valuable to me and I tend to check dates of renewals and things myself rather than trust companies to do it.
Even if you only buy PA products, it is still a good idea to be in the club if you have at least one 18$ order a month. This will save you 72$ alone, which covers the cost of the PC+ annual membership (and more if you buy the annual membership at a discount).
IMHO, it only makes sense to not be a member if you spend little or nothing at the store (roughly 200 dollars or less annually)
It stopped for me; I asked for them to be re-instigated.
My PC has just expired; I had two reminders - maybe a third. And just got one this morning saying it had expired.
I'm expecting to save a bit of cash, but have curtailed my spending a lot since 4.9 appeared; but spent in other places.
The freebies look great, but are very rarely useful to me.
I'm sure I'll rejoin, as the coupons more or less cover the cost of membership. (I don't use em both every month, and have on occasions forgotten.) No doubt there'll be a good offer to join at some stage. But I'm planning on spending less, and checking out Rendo. (I'm still somewhat annoyed over how 4.9 was handled.)
The best way of saving is not to buy, not what Daz state, as buy this and that and save more.
When I rejoin, the stuff in my wish list will be available at a good price too.
