Why does she look angry in most of her promo shots?
Hmm probably something to do with a cache not resetting for you. Try deleting temp internet files, etc. if you're not seeing new promos appear (the mei lin one covers 2, then there's one for her as the DMB, then MM, then related mad, then 50 new, then fastgrab freebies.)
It's nice to see some alternate morphs that don't look like a pale white girl with a slight eye job to vaguely look Asian, tbh.
Would have loved to see some J-Pop/K-Pop-inspired outfits, but maybe that'll come later down the line.

It doesn't hurt that with all the stacked discounts (and my PC+ coupon) it comes out to an absurdly low price for the Pro Bundle. Btw, Stonemason's Our Lost Future is on sale as well.
She's not angry in most of the Mei lin 7 base product shots, but a few of them she has the 'fighting intensity' look. I like the fact that they gave the base character promos expressions, rather than just going with neutral-face for all of them. Actually, the base character promos are really, really well done. I'd love to have seen something which gives a better feel for her size, like...if you're going to have her fighting, then maybe judo-throwing a Michael 7, for comparison. :)

Kinda on the fence about this one. Mostly because there is so much similarity of outfits in the pro bundle.
That said, even in spite of the discounts due to the MM sale, I might just get the starter bundle for this release.

I'm just getting the figures; hair I've enough for the current system; and clothes, well I'm sure they don't wear martial arts stuff all the time the other side of the world. :)
As someone that usually has no need or desire for addon characters, I really like the looks of this one, especially some of the outfits in the pro bundle. Oh well, in the wishlist it goes.

If you plan to get Lee it is definitive not worth to get the Starter Bundle. If you are able to use the Gift Card Offer I practically pays for itself.
If you even dont want everything from the Starter Bundle getting Figure only and the selected Items might be the better deal.
What I like about Mei Lin is that she has a real adult look - More early 30s than early 20s.
As a contrast you then have super sugar sweet Cai.

Yeah if you can afford the Pro Bundle and a gift card it's such a good deal (especially if you also want Lee.)
Sadly after March and the essential items that appeared at the start of April and paying summer aircon bills, the best I could do was get the base and one of the characters (and now if it does get extended beyond the one day offer it'll be too late for me at least.)
Heads up: Hye has no 4.8 Legacy Iray settings option, so you'll have to adjust them yourself for those not using 4.9.

Generation 7 has been really pretty great about that, actually. Olympia also looks closer to 30+
Also another bundle with 2 outfits with unheeled shoes! Mercurial Guardian does have some holes, but it should be easy enough to stick something like chain mail under there.

I really like the Darkshade outfit, but of course it's the one that doesn't get the 'extra textures' treatment. :-/
And yes, the very first thing I thought was to note it was a slightly older character, although it's always hard to tell. E.g.
Anyhow, I'm very happy with the character. I like Hye a little more than Cai, but I like the base even more.
I also really like that the character isn't 5'10". :)

Yes, the banner on the sale page that mentions Lee is pretty severely broken, and has been since it first appeared this morning UK time — it's size is set to a fixed depth, but the text in the banner is not vertically centred and a bit on the big side, so the bottom gets chopped off. I wonder if it's a weirdness in HTML5 coding?
I've been waiting eagerly for this! As soon as I saw the email this morning I was waiting for a chance to buy her! Seriously nice deals too! Pro pack for $58, also grabbed all the texture packs, plus the new angora sweater just because it looks great, and the total came to $63!! Sweeeeeetttttttt...... !!!

She looks serious business. Not the typical supermodel chic. And with that 12% gift card promo, the pro-bundle almost comes free for a $300 gift card.
I wonder how the other G3F smile expression morphs would look on that face. With my limited creativity and imagination, I have had problems in the past making smile on certain characters look even normal.
so getting the pc+ item from the still mad, plus the pc coupon made the pro bundle only $41ish. I think this was money well spent ' ')/
That happened on my S7's Chrome browser, so it must be their mobile settings in general. Most of the time the splash page works on mobile fine, though.
Also, can this stay as a Daily Mind Blower along with the other Mei Lin offers for a couple extra days??? I'm flat broke until I get paid. Having the extra 10% discount for just one day would be kind of lame. And can we get an explanation on how the Lee 7 discount would stack with PC+? I'm not really sure if I want Lee 7. Actually, I'm not sure if I want the pro bundle.

@toyen I love the expression there. That mixed with the reflection on the teeth really adds to the aliveness.
I found her to be really versatile when I was doing promos for a light set I did.

Sadly I'm at work; I bought the stuff this morning, but it'll be hours before I get a chance to do a real render with her, after I get home, do dinner, put the kids to bed...then maybe I get to play for half an hour or so... So probably days before I have something good enough to share. :-/
Your image is amazing; what lighting did you use? I can never get that level of quality on the skin... I swear I even see small scar-lines on her upper chest.

This is what I was thinking when people were saying she looks more mature; "Well she's Asian, so she's probably about 50." So I grabbed Hye for a bit younger shape, but really, I'm so in love with Mei Lin's texture. Toyen's render shows it off really well too. If you do a big render, there are so many different things going on to match each area of the body - it's amazing.
