Lack of realistic Asian female figure for Genesis 3 female

Just wondering anyone could give me some tips and suggestions on creating realistic Asian girls using Genesis 3 figure.

DAZ store don't seems to have many Asian girls for G3F for sell at the moment it seems.

I only able to find two that are close to Asian but that's in names only, Xin and Chiyo. Only things that resemble close to Asian is their body shape.

Chiyo skin looks very Caucasian and Xin's body shape are close to south easterner, but facial don't resemble Asian or Chinese at all.

There was a free asian facial morph hereo n the forums which looked just amazing. The only realistic asian character for G3F that comes to mind is Chiyo for V7 by Raiya.

However, Mei Lin 7 should be releasing soon so you might wanna wait for her : )

Actually, there are a few Asian characters for G3F. There's Xin-Qian, and Natsumi and Atsuko. There's also Fukiko, but -- despite the Japanese name -- she doesn't look very Asian to me. If you want South Asian rather than East or South-East Asian, there's Priya.

Pixeluna at RuntimeDNA has a character called Mitsuko for G3F. And as you may know, RuntimeDNA and DAZ have just merged, and Pixeluna's products are just starting to show up on the DAZ site. So maybe Mitsuko will be available through DAZ shortly?

One thing I notice is that 'Asian' at the DAZ store almost always seems to mean 'Chinese' or 'Japanese'. South Asian figures like Priya are a definite rarity, and I can't think of any figures I've seen who looked like or were presented as, for example, Korean, Thai, Cambodian, or Vietnamese. Sometimes it feels a little like this King of the Hill sketch

Redzstudio at Rendo has a character called Ying Tai that's fairly well done overall.  A bit more lift in the rear than is normal, but that's something that can be dialed out.

"Authentic Indian skin tone" covers an enormously wide range. I'd say Jordana is well within that range.

Chiyo's skin looks Caucasian? What? Her paler skin complexion can be easily found in East-Asian populations.

And I'm saying this as a person of East-Asian descent.

Ok but on the very very light side.

i agree that there is a wide range but in all parts of those is allways distinctive tone that separtes it from similar dark skintones from elwere in the world. meaning you cant use a "African" skin (also a wide range) for an indian character...

It's all subjective either thru stereotypes or personal experience. A vendor will never make everyone happy and should probably stick with what 'they' like and the stereotype in order to please the largest number of customers.

It's funny, I stumbled on an international dating site the other day and had a long look at the different countries and it was surprising to me some of the differences (positive) than what I expected from media and stereotypes

I have seen some stunning Asian women in real life and have quite a few Asian morphs for various figures and most don't really do much for me and the ones i do like have been told to me are not that authentic, go figure.

I agree on the first point, as I've actually seen images of Asian children that are pale in complexion; it may be like in the US, though, in that folks out in the more rural areas look darker or have a slightly different skin tone than those in the cities do. And yes, I suspect that might be such a hint.

I'd been hoping for a Monique first - although if i remember right, Monique came after Mei Lin in the Gen2 line? Monique and Mei Lin were my two favourite of the 6's...so far, Olympia is hands down my fave of the 7s, but I've been pining for Monique and Mei Lin to topple her from her pedestal LOL

We already knew that Mei Lin was coming (though it was expected after Teen Julie.)

But the pattern for almost the entire Genesis 3 line has been for the character to be released on the 2nd last (or 3rd, one of the two) Tuesday of the month (except for Karen and Bethany which were weird.) and then since G3M has been around, a male figure in the following Tuesday (until last month when we got nothing.)

If they do release Mei Lin tomorrow, it'll be at a completely unnatural point in the schedule. Releasing the next female on a Thursday at the start of the next month doesn't fit any patterns, but more importantly I'd expect comes completely out of budget time for most people's expectations. Plus it's two females in a row because they ditched the male last month. Or maybe most customers have enough money to buy any random new bundle that comes out on any given day with no warning; I have no idea.

Hmmmm Well this is the Daz community interpretation of everything that makes Assassins Creed... Yeah the two are completely different worlds sadly sad Also Ubisoft has never had an issue with multiculturalism like daz has lol (I will however say it has been rather upsetting how long they have went in the past without a female lead character (At least they haven't stooped to this though))

Given that the last figure release was a sort of teen figure (Isabella) then it was likely that the following one would be an adult. We are coming up to almost a year since V7 was launched, and if Mei-Lin does appear that will be the first ethnic base figure to appear. I wonder if Lee 7 will follow Mei-Lin, but since the last release had no male equivalent, this is not a given.

I'm sure we'll get a new female asian figure probably Mei-Lin tomorrow.

I admit, she was my least favorite gen 6 figure, so I won't be picking her up. I did like Lee though.

I am half expecting MM to run through most of April. Given the large number of additional "new" releases they have had with all the RDNA stuff arriving, plus from what some PA's have hinted, there is a heavy backlog of new products stacked up, DAZ have every reason for an extra long sales period this year.

What would have made more sense was to slip Teen Julie in along with Izabella to get the teens out of the way since there are a bunch of them now (assuming they weren't going to give us a teen male to fit with them) and then this month would be free for Mei Lin.

Regardless, releasing her at the start of the month is extremely unexpected considering the Genesis 3 schedule so far. Having one character near the start of the month and one near the end would be a better pattern to follow (i.e. Lee coming in a few weeks) but seeing as the good deals are usually the first day or two of release it's really difficult for me to have money on hand for them at the drop of a hat.

As an East indian, I second that Jordana's skin coloring is widely seen in India. The areas under the eyes and above the lips are especially well done, and commonly seen.

And the 'typical'  color pattern is lighter skin up near Kashmir, and darker hues as one heads south in India. My mother in law, from Hyderabad, has very dark skin and very kinky hair. In the U.S. she is mistaken for African American. So yes, one can use an 'African ' skin on an East Indian-Hindustani character- unless you are going for the Bollywood actress-    :  )

I hope Daz Steve is hinting that a new Mei Lin is coming tomorrow!!!

    Probably you are right.

But I might be a bit biased. My wife was born in Kolkatta so Im looking for this slightly reddish brown Bengali skin tone...

And Jordanas skin Color is very close to that of my half Indian half German sons.

and you got take into account mixed races too therir are just soooooo many variations of skin tones for all races whether pure bred or mixed but then variety is the spice of life as they say and really we shouldn't say everyone has to be this or that and no variation of, me the more different shapes, sizes and colours/tones the better love variety oh a few more different ages would be really great we have kids, teens, adults around their 20's but be nice to see some in 30's, 40's, 50's and up too though the new Mei Lin 7 has a nice more mature look aspect about her so expect a lot more asians + Aiko 7 should be close and maybe Lee 7. There were a fair few asian add on characters for G2F/M mostly female so yeah now Mei Lin 7 is out expect lots more

  • oh yeah another thing about skin tones and such I live in Tasmania, Australia and we're very multi culture society and we get a lot of people from a lot of different countries visiting, working or living here and I see a lot of wildly different variations of asian, europian and other regions of the world in their skin tones, speech, heights and shapes and the old stereo type look type doesn't work there are a lot of variations now days in Japanese, Chinese, Vietnemise, Indian, African, extra

  • oh made slight mistake read or thought read buy Mei Linn 7 and get 25% off Lee 6 Pro, my mistake it's buy Mei Lin 7 Pro AND GET 25% OFF LEE 7 Pro soooo LEE 7 is coming too
