We submitted the Macintosh version of the popular head morphing and texturing software HeadShop 9 to DAZ store.
HeadShop 9.2 Macintosh works as a DAZ Studio plugin, allows users to convert a single photo into a 3D head that will transfer to a DAZ Studio or Poser figure.
You can preview "how-to" videos of the product at:

HeadSHop 9 Mac replaces FaceShop 8 Macintosh. Upgrades from FaceShop 8 will be available in a few weeks.
Does it have the ability to blend the generated head texture to a body texture? That's the biggest problem I have with this product. I find it very hard to justify spending $60 on a product that lacks such a (in my opinion) critical functionality.
I try to find a skin texture either character I have or create one with skin builder pro that's match the face first then I make the face and I do body and face shaping after I've created the face otherwise it distorts badly but I've had a fair few successes lately I've been pretty happy with and others have liked using genesis 2 and 3 ladies. Males been some glitching though such as when I've had more than one male creation saved one will over write all my male created characters faces also when I reloaded a scene was working on the face skin on my male character had moved down the head. As typing this just reloaded that scene and it didn't glitch this time but I had deleted that other male character project could it be because in the first setup box in the morph/texture name box I just leave the default name as fs? and it'd confusing the plugin? Like said the ladies no problem. Sometimes got to open up my face skin texture to touch up in my editing program especially with gen3 ladies to get rid of those black lines but that's no big deal or problem. Oh cool thing too you can use forbidden whispers extreme closeup makeups on these faces too
how soon will I be able to purchase the mac version of headshop. I recieved a Daz giftcard for christmas and I wanted to use it for that. Thanks
It was indicated to me that the release is imminent. Maybe between Xmas and New Year?
Any word on this? The version in the Daz store says "Windows only" but there is a Mac version listed on the Aballone site. Will that work? Thanks!
Bought it, Installed according to the explanation.... But can't seem to find the start headshop cmd... It's not under the edit command. So can anybody tell me how to start headshop on a mac, please?
Step one: Read installation instructions (enclosed in package). Watch video link to "how-to-install"if needed. Make sure that you install the 32-bit pacjake if your Studio is 32-bit (or the 64-bit for 64-bit Studio). Otherwise HeadShop will not sho up. Also check under Help/About Installed Plugins in your DAZ Studio.
Step two: contact Tech Support of Abalone ([email protected])
It seemed I had multiple installations of Daz under my Daz studio 64 folder. After removing the nested installation. I looked in DAZ Install Manager for the app configurations and removed the location for the nested daz studio install there too. Checked for the headshop installation files and moved them to the correct location. Restarted Daz and I got it working now.
I have old version of Headshop with Mona Lisa characters from Genesis days. When will it be upgraded to support Genesis 3? I didn't upgrade to Genesis 2 version (Headshop 9 for Windows) so can I upgrade to Headshop for Windows version when it supports Genesis 3 or must I buy new again?
HeadShop 9 DOES support Genesis 3 (and all other charcaters for DAZ and Poser). The only thing is you need to click on the "Import OBJ" button.
