Help with i13 Hotel and Lounge Environment with Poses

Morning,

Good morning. I need help with i13 Hotel and Lounge Environment. Both the Nighttime and the Daytime scenes load dark with no lighting options active. I had thought that they were ready to render scenes, but I don't see a way, besides manually creating/loading lights, of illuminating the scene. I could not locate any help files.

Any assistance here would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Does CTRL+L help? Is it just Iray lights in the set?

That set is set up for Iray. Are you using the Iray render engine? With the 3Delight it will be dark because there are no lights that 3DL recognizes.

Ah! That must be it - that I do not have Iray. Thanks.

I will search out getting that.

    Thanks again.

I am in 4.9 right now and am wondering what I need to do. My default render setting is NVIDIA Iray, but my problem is first with editing the scene (viewing it in the regular viewport). It is completely dark. Is there something about Iray only sets where some sort of setting needs to be active for me to see the set as properly lit, prior to rendering?

There is probably a headlamp blocker in the scene. Load a new camera and make sure the headlamp (select camera and go to parameter tab) is set to on. Make sure to turn the headlamp off for rendering, otherwise it will be too bright.

Simply select the camera you are looking through, and look for "headlamp" in the Parameters tab, then turn it on. That should give you the light back. Just don't forget to turn off the headlamp again before rendering.

Thank-you. I will try this later tonight and let you know if I have success. I appreciate your quick responses!

You don't necessarily need to mess with the headlamp setting. You get preview lighting by pressing ctrl-L. If you use the preview lighting, you can leave the headlamp off and eliminate the possibility of the headlmap spoiling your lighting.
