Welcome. I've been drooling over some of your products at RuntimeDNA and here now. It's good to hear about the skin textures converting over so well. Looks like I'll have to re-think not buying generation 4 or Poser items. I'm wanting "Facial A-Hairness" and wonder if it might work with Genesis 2 and/or Genesis 3. If not do you have plans to update it for them?

Hopefully you will make 3Delight and Iray versions. [fingers are crossed]

    Hi John and thanks.

Facial A-Hairness....this is one of a small number of products that we know absolutely will not work as intended, when used in DS. It's Poser dynamic hair, and while there is a converter, we feel results could be better.

We ARE in the process of taking our first baby steps in DS. As with any new software, we've got to climb that initially steep learning curve, and once we feel comfortable, then we'll see about including DS format files. Until then, we'll keep making stuff as we do, which usually seems to work rather well in DS, because we don't over complicate things with Poser specific stuff. :)  We've always found that by not over complicating it, there's less ways it can go wrong *laughs*

Now, please forgive us if this sounds like a noob question, but we can't seem to find an option to notify us by e-mai when some-one replies on a thread we've posted in. Are we missing something obvious here? :)

If you bookmark the disscusion and set "Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions" to on (tick) for e-mail in your notification preferences you should get a notice for the first comment after yours.

    That's in Edit Profile

You are not missing something obvious - it is one of the overcomplicated things here ... contrary to other forums, where you are subscribed to a thread the moment you answer (or start it), you have to

    1. favorite it by clicking the little star so it turns yellow (see picture1)

    2. click on the gear in the upper right picture and click on your screen name (see picture2)

    3. in your profile click on the lower gear (the other is for marking the forums read) and choose edit profile (see picture3)

    4. have fun ticking things (see picture 4)

(Please don't kick me - I did NOT invent this forum software)

TBH  I prefer this way of bookmarking threads . I like that fact that you have to choose to follow a thread rather than it being the other way round.  I was constantly forgetting to tick to not subscribe, and then had to go back to the thread to unsubscribe when I started getting bogged down with ebots. I also like the fact that I can choose how I get the alerts, as I find it easier to go to one are and see notifications of threads I am interested, instead of having a inbox full of ebots to delete.

You only have to set notification prefenrences up once,  and then remember to bookmark threads you want to follow.

Well - in most forums you can edit your profile and choose "bookmark threads I started/responded to" or choose not to and do it on a thread by thread base ...

Just want to throw in that you don't need to bookmark threads that you start. They're automatically added under that cogwheel menu > my discussions. The notification setting that goes with these ones is, "Notify me when people comment on my discussions.".

  • Hi MortemVetus,

I really enjoy your work and im looking forward to your future products here at DAZ.

  • Thank you everyone for the advice....seems it's almost as tricky getting to grips with new sites as it is getting to grips with new software. :)

Just thought I'd let anyone interested in transferring Daemones to G2M, I posted my tutorial on my Thread in the Art Studio in PDF format.  While I did the tutorial to reflect the special attention needed for Daemones' eyes, the tutorial should help anyone wanting to convert any other M4 figures to later generations using GenX.  The tutorial is still in it's infancy.  If anyone tries it out and finds any glaring errors or if you don't understand anything while following the steps, please let me know so I can update the tutorial.  You can either PM me or post on my thread.  Once it is completely finished and no more mistakes are found, I'll put it up on my ShareCG and DA pages, as well as, provide the link in the thread for tutorials.  Right now it is just sitting in my dropbox.  Let me know if anyone has any problems with the download or the tutorial.  It's my first ever so, hopefully, it isn't too bad.

Thanks all. I didn't even know about anything but ticking the "star" at the top page of a tread... little did I know... little do I. :)

Notifications must be ON by default since I changed nothing and do get notified by email and by Notifications via the main gear at the upper right corner of this and each fourums page.

No problem with Facial A-Hairness being dynamic hair... I knew it was before purchasing. I'll use it in either Carrara or install my old version of Poser 6. I'm just glad you are here and don't want to rush you to convert it to DS... when/if it is done that will be great. You have more important things to work on first. I understand completely since I've just started digging into learning DS since last summer... even though I've had it since before version 2.9 I always worked in Carrara Pro and occasionally Poser.
