I definitely recommend the addons for Stan too, hopefully they will make it over as well
I picked up the freebies thr3e and 4our which also work excellent on M4
I plan on getting Stan soon.
*edit*
on a side note, I would guess that Stane would be 1 but whatever happened to 2wo?
Apart from Facelift, all Stan's other add-ons are free. At RDNA we did these as Zero Price Items. We don't know how this is done at Daz, so for the moment, they're migrating to our own site, which is undergoing a complete redesign. At the moment we're adding all the content, so we're hoping to get the new look live in the next 2-3 weeks.
Thr3e and 4our...there is no one or two. These were something we started doing for Stan's birthday, the first one came out on his third birthday. Despite him being a grumpy ol' git, we love Stan, he marked an important point in our creating. :)
Nice you come to the forums, so take your time to settle down here Andrew and Tracey!
The braided Hair went through the DIM without any problems and ended in the poser directory, no trouble at all to work with in DS4.8... now lets have a look at all the other nice toys...
There's the ones by Brahann, the seven deadly clowns and The deadliest mixer, and OMG it's the Betty's for Betty :). Even though you guys didn't create them they are still must have addons lol
Double post sorry
@MortemVetus Well, I have to say it is good to see you migrate over into DAZ waters. When I looked this morning after realizing I had accidentally purchased something I already owned, I was very surprised to find that I, actually, owned quite a bit of Mortem Vetus stuff. I don't know how some of that even managed to make its way into my cart over at RuntimeDNA as I don't usually do "dark". Great stuff and I'll be happy to buy more once things settle down and all of my stuff has migrated over here. Apparently, even though I don't usually do 'dark', I do collect it.
I DO ABSOLUTELY LOVE your male figures. Even if they are for M4. Your characters and other like them are one of the reasons M4 still plays a large part in my library even though I have a lot of the later generations.
Welcome to the DAZ family!
Welcome too, MortemVetus. These M4 characters are amazing - so much details.

I'm excited to see you two here ( not that you being over there kept me from purchasing :P ). Are you able to say whether Brahann will be coming over too? You guys seem to work a lot together/compliment each other and I'd love to see that continue.
What happened to Morwena for V4? All of a sudden it's not in Mortems catalogue, it was there yesterday. No, I don't own it, so it's not a "hide owned items" thing.
@Vaskania - Thank you for all your support over the years, you're a star! Dave(Brahann) has started landing, and as far as we're aware, he is bringing the rest of his stuff. http://www.daz3d.com/brahann We're really excited to be here, and we're looking forward to seeing where this new chapter leads us. :)
@HorusRa - She does indeed appear to have done a runner. We'll put out an APB and see if she can be found, *chuckle* We're sure it'll all shake itself out, this has been a huge move, with 100+ merchants and 5000+ products to integrate. The good folks at Daz have been brilliant, and when things have settled down we'd think that everything will be sorted as it should be (and then the Daz staff can catch up on sleep, lol)
@Linwelly - that's really great to hear, thank you. As we've said elsewhere, we are just starting to learn DS, which is a bit of a shock to the system after 16 years of using Poser. Once we reach a good level of competance with it, we'll be able to include DS specific versions in our packs alongside the Poser versions.
@Knittingmommy - We've heard a few times that migrating products are a bit delayed in showing up in DIM. Have you got it sorted for a refund? If not, let us know and we'll see what we can sort out. :)
@Artini - Thank you. :) M4 is still our go-to guy, he best suits what we want to create in our artwork, and we feel there's still so much more we can do with him yet. And everything we make is intended first and foremost for use in our own art, which means not only do we have fun creating, we also get on-going fun using it. :) win-win
Happy rendering
Andrew and Tracey
:)
Is there any reason why my DIM installation keeps failing with Balverk, Daemones, The Duke, and The Slinger?
Looks like a bad set of updates in DIM - this problem was mentioned somewhere else too. I downloaded all those (except Balverk) two days ago and they were fine. Today I see a set of updates in DIM - guess I'll not touch them then!
ETA: Yep, they're definitely bad updates. I tried both the DIM version (saved the old files and redownloaded) and also direct download from Product Library for The Duke - tried to unzip both and got the same result (attached).
We have reported the zip issue.
Oh, I got the refund for the product I accidentally purchased that same day. I love DAZ customer service! I had put the reason for the return in my ticket and someone from DAZ PM'd me to find out what items were still missing from my account as some, but not all are showing up in my product catalog as yet. So, I PM'd back which items I bought at RDNA and which were missing. I assume it will get straightened out once the holiday is over and people are back to work.
After my goof, I just made sure I double checked what I owned before buying more stuff as there were one or two items I simply had to buy that I never got a chance to get before the merger. I now own Stan so I can make use of his free faces! and I got a couple of other items that had been in my wishlist at RDNA. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they figure out how to do the free stuff. However, I have backup copies of everything so I'm good! Thanks! I, actually, thought it was kind of funny when I started looking at your catalog liking everything. As I mentioned, I don't do dark. But, when I double checked my invoices, the bulk of my purchases at RDNA belonged to you and LittleFox. Not sure how that happened, but I can't imagine two shops further away from each other in style!
I love your gritty male characters and I will probably get more of them in the future. Even though I'm happy using M4, it sure would be nice to see characters like that on G2 or G3 in the future.
Has anybody tried transfering any of these MV character morphs using Gen X and add-ons?
It is on my To Do List, but haven't gotten to it yet. I was kind of hoping to play with that tomorrow to see how The Slinger and Daemones look as they are two of the ones that have shown up in DIM so far. I was thinking of doing some test renders of them in the new Render Studio I got yesterday. I'd be interested if anyone has already done this.
Has the DIM issue been addressed?
Some of the zips have been fixed, but some others will have to wait until Monday. If you bought and downloaded the bad zips you should now see an update listed, I believe, for those that ahve been fixed already.
Yes - so far I've converted the Duke and Shrieker morphs. Both are really outstanding, and I plan to add more to my Genesis gene pool. Here's an example of Shrieker used on a Genesis figure (in combination with other morphs, too):

I remember seeing that image when you first posted. I had no idea you had converted that. Nice.
Greg, would you mind sending me a pm with the steps you use to convert them? I've tried with Stan but keep getting "there are no morphs with non-zero values." I even tried making a separate cr2 with m4+stan but nothing I'm doing seems to be right. I have genx2 + all the add ons + m4 for g2m so I should be able to get this to work.
Got your message, greymouser69. I'm not in front of my DAZ box at the moment (and it's been a while), but as soon as I am, I'll post a quick step-by-step here in case it will help anybody else, too.
- Greg
Thanks! I have used genx successfully in the past but it has been 4 years and I'm having trouble remembering the details.
One of the things that I've had to do with both Mortem Vetus and Brahann characters is to search the GenX panel for the custom morphs. Thankfully, the morphs and the character usually have the same name. For some reason that I don't understand, some custom morphs have a value of 0 even after they're loaded, and you have to search for them and change the value. (Ralf explained it to me at one point, but that was many moons ago, and I just don't remember why that sometimes happens.)
Alternatively, you can inject them into M4/V4, then export the fully morphed character, then put that through GenX. Doesn't always work -- some custom morphs just can't be recognized by GenX, for some reason -- but one or the other method usually works. I think I used the second method with Daemones and the first with Alesia.
It's a fantastic morph! "Mouth Open Wide" just wasn't cuttin it for her lol.

Back in front of my computer now, and created another Genesis morph for the Duke's head using GenX2. Here are the steps I followed:
1. Load GenX2
2. Click on "Source" and load M4
3. In the Content Library, navigate to Poser content, then Pose -> MortemVetus -> The_Duke
4. Drag the file "+Head_INJ.pz2" onto the GenX2 window with Michael 4 already loaded as the source
5. Click on "Select" and choose "Transfer: On for All Non-Zero Values"
6. Click on "Mode" and choose "Create single morph"
7. Click on "Target" and choose "Genesis"
8. Click on Transfer and set the "Identifier" and "Name" to "Duke Head Test"
9. Close and restart DAZ
10. Load up a Genesis figure and under Parameters -> Actor -> Generation X you'll find a dial for "Duke Head Test"
That's it. There are some more settings that I didn't mention and other options you can set, but you can check the documentation for those if you're interested. Hope this helps, greymouser69.
And on another note, I bought some more Mortem Vetus earlier today (Habitus Malus & Templar). Loaded up M4 with the Templar gear, posed him real quick, and stuck him in a world sphere environment for Sauron's stronghold in Mirkwood, Dol Goldur. All of the materials for Templar converted & rendered great straight out of the box using my NPR algorithms.
Even though Templar is for an older figure, it's top notch work for sure! I'll definitely pick up some more Mortem Vetus products to add to what I already have.

Ok that must have been what has frustrated me all afternoon. No matter what I tried it kept telling me basically that all morphs were zero. I'll try hunting down the morph and adjusting the value by hand before transferring. On the other hand, I did the load M4 and inject the morphs then export as a new cr2 and it does seem to have worked once I was reminded that I had to dial in M4 on genesis first before dialing in the morph. Anyone know if it is possible to have the new morph automatically dial in M4 at the same time?
Those do look nice and I may pick them up as well, but I'm curious where you got the environment with Dol Guldur since I would be very interested in that.
Dialing in M4 is not necessary in the procedure I outlined a couple posts back.
