I have to tell you that I have looked at Colm's Poser lighting packages with envy for years and now here he is with his first item for DAZ Studio. All I can say is Wow!! I love it :) It's a big package but I think it is worth every penny :) :)

A couple of clicks and for the first time I don't have to worry about how the lighting looks in Iray

Yeah, several of the techniques in those samples can be real tough to achieve properly. Looks like he's done a good job.
This is Colm from RDNA, correct?
Yes it is :)
I'm just grabbing this, got some promo's to do and I think this is going to make them really pop !
I love it :) He has some scenes set up as well as the individual lights and don't forget the tutorial. Colm is a photographer and really seems to know what lights to use where :)
Didn't know about the tutorial Thanks Bea !
Will give it a read !
It really is stunning!
This is an amazing package by a creative lighting genius we've been admiring for a long time for his Render Studio lighting. This pack is easy to use, and with just a couple clicks, you can be on your way. With his knowledge and background in photography, he's given us a head start on dramatic lighting. And the best part? It's for DazStudio!! Yay!! Thanks Colm, and congrats!
It certainly was an instant buy for me. I've always loved Render Studio in Poser, so was quite pleased waking up this morning to see this product here.
I just bought this. It was the comments in this thread that convinced me. Thank you for speaking up.
Beautiful render ThatGuy! And yes, happy to speak up. It's a great addition to anyone's Content Library!
i would like to see Mr Colms create HDRI lighting like in those scenes. Or is that what he's done?
An instant buy for me too...love his Poser lighting sets so this was a no-brainer and it's even better than I imagined with so many options.
I think I can count the times I've visited RDNA on the fingers of one hand and still have two left over, so I've not not encountered Colm before. I've bought a ton of stuff from Daz though, so I was on the fence about the RenderStudio product as I didn't think there were many gaps left that it could fill for me. But it's cheap enough at the moment to fill those gaps and so I bought it, and am really pleased that I did. As I said on another thread, it's not just what it can do that's proved to be of value, it's that it's got everything rounded up in one place so that you don't spend forever digging into different folders looking for lighting, backdrops, cameras, render settings and all the rest. It's caused a real productivity boost here, and it's really quick to adapt to any ideas you might have on the fly. The attached image uses a 2000 x 2000 px crop from one of Ron's space backgrounds, with the colour from the light taken from the same background using a colour picker. It's nothing special, but the point is that it took about three minutes to set up, and rendered really quickly too. If time is money, then this product is practically paying me to use it :)
I used RS back in the day. It was the only time I opened Poser by then but the lights were just that awesome!
The pic with Izabella was first use as soon as I downloaded it. I used one of the RTR scenes, added Izabella and rendered.
On the second pic I used individual lights.
RS is just amazing and I need more add-ons! LOL
So happy to see the genius of Render Studio come to Iray... Colm lured me back to Poser (and introduced me to Vue way back when) so many times just because of his lights.
Computer graphics is fun again, all of a sudden. This is a truly professional product, with loads of options. I love it, and I'm very glad a tutorial is included. RS/IRay is elaborate.
I doubt I'll need more IRay lights, for awhile. Everything is included, but the kitchen sink. It's all very well-organized though -- no problem locating lights, materials, or modifiers.
BTW, thanks for the $20 credit we got for RS for Poser, a few weeks ago. That was nice.
Quick first render: one fill light (basic white), one hair light (light pink), and the background light for the wall with a wide diffuse option. Med quality render option, but I stopped the render at 65%.
All the images are looking really good :)
Still playing with the Render Studio Iray by Colm. I used the Skin FX preset for this one. Other things in the scene are Annelies, Anjou hair, and Sexy Skinz Lace bodysuits.
Agree with Jan, it's fun again!
This one uses his sidelight fx and one hair light as well. My own hair shaders and metalised shaders for the jewellery. This is so much fun.
Great images! I look forward to trying some of the presets. :-)
After reading the tutorial, I discovered that I probably should've used one key light, instead of one fill light. Render and learn.
The draft render settings are perfect -- quick, even for me, with an AMD.
This set sure yanked me out of a cg doldrum. Thank goodness.
That's a great render of Annalies, sapat. Thank you for sharing it. I was contemplating on buying her, so now I think I will!
I like the Annalies render, too, sapat. Which preset did you use? I can't find one called "skin." Is it the "shadow?"
I really like the shading.
Why? HDRI is not the solution for everything, and these lights are vesatile, quite able to be used indoors where an HDRI is not going to cut it.
Chock full of RDNA goodness. Render Studio for Iray and of course.. Stan.
Here's a quit test. I really like the set. Great piece of work. So easy to use, and well documented.
She's really gorgeous! Glad I grabbed her :)
These are "Scene Only" lights, so I guess they don't use HDRIs or the Dome. :-) I looked for the HDRI, too, when I started experimenting with the lights.
If you want HDRI lighting, there's the UltraGenesis Studio, by Syyd and Traveler. The different modules of that set use HDRIs.
Maybe Colm J wanted to do something different -- and not overlap w/the UG Studio.
I like HDRI lighting, too, but the RS lights are tip-top. They could probably be used with HDRIs to give the environment a boost. Mix 'n match.
I haven't tried that. Just an idea.
If you haven't visited Colm's facebook page, here's the link:

He's got lots more images posted there as examples, and also some hints and tips as you scroll down the page. Well worth the visit!
As I said above, it was the conversation in here that sold me on this product. I pulled up a scene I'd toyed with about a month ago, just Callie 6 wearing Annika Storm. (I didn't have anything in mind at the time, just wanted to check out some of my new stuff.) I used the BG Wall and Cove with Techno_01, two mesh lights—M-RIM Soft R and Fill Light L—and the Specular Eyelight, and the Full Body Camera.
I also tried out Canvasses for the first time. Here are three versions of the scene: the original from last month, the 8-bit render, and a 16-bit jpeg from the Beauty Canvas exr.
The differences between the 8-bit and 16-bit images are subtle, but I can see why some people prefer working with the exr files.
(The original scene had camera positioned off to the side to get the angle I wanted. Also, it was lit with the default HDRi that comes with DS. Using the Full Body Camera instead, I rotated Callie to get the angle.)
