Why no love for the super-hero?

RKane_1RKane_1 Posts: 3,039

With as many super-hero movies coming out, why not more love for the genre here in the shop? I would love it if a Genesis 3 version of the Supersuit complete with new Iray shaders came out?

Has anyone thought of asking the amazing Joe Quick if he would do a new Golden age version for Genesis 3? I would LOVE to have some generic mix and match options for both male & female figures.

I would love to see more superhero content in the store. There seems to be a lot of sexy women's clothing, and fantasy warrior outfits, neither of which I buy, but I agree superhero content is lacking!

Isn't the3dwizard still working on the G2M Catsuit?

Cant say there is "no" love:  http://www.daz3d.com/no-suit-morphs-for-genesis-3-male-s

But yeah...a good supersuit would be welcomed for sure

Sorry, RawArt. And that product is purchased by me already. :)

I would love to have a supersuit to work WITH those morphs. :)

It's not hard to put Genesis Supersuit or Ultra Bodysuit for G2F on Genesis 3, I imagine. So there's that.

There's also some dynamic capes and supersuits.

Those all work pretty well on the new figures. But...I'm greedy. I can never have enough superhero content. On a somewhat related note, just about 7 1/2 hours 'tilI get to see Batman v Superman. That'll be more interesting than watching hockey tonight (that's what my wife will be doing).

Fitting Genesis and G2F stuff does not work as well as one could hope. :)

And Dynamic Clothing is a whole other kettle of pain in the butt. :)

  • Let's not forget that some heros/villians don't wear the traditional supersuit; Storm of The X-Men, at least in the early to mid 1980's wore something that seemed akin to the Bloodcrystal outfit and Emma Frost wore something even more provocative. For the men, Namor wore a Speedo swimsuit and The Hulk wore ripped pants. Others didn't bother; The Blob wore whatever happened to fit his massive body.

Also keep in mind that the studios are very protective of the "designs" of the uniforms.  Getting too close could lead to an unpleasant experience.  So the PAs do the best they can without stepping on a mine.

I would be satisfied with even a Genesis 2 update of the Golden Age goodies by Joe Quick. The capes don't transfer well for me from M4 to G2 or Genesis. What I especially love about Joe Quick's Golden Age is how the raw materials from them can be mixed and matched so you can create your own characters. As for the Genesis Supersuit, it's a must-have and is wonderfully customizable well beyond the superhero genre but I find it works best if I tinker with the suit on a Genesis character first, save it as a preset, and then load it on a G2 character because many of the shaping morphs don't seem to be avalable once the suit is fitted to a G2 character.

You just put them in a unitard and then their Speedos on after the unitard and then texture as needed and you're done. Although you may, depending on the character, need to tuck a towel or table cloth into the pack of the neck in the unitard.

Most of the masks can be made by creating a new mask an LIE and masking it as needed for the character.

There definitely is not enough superhero/villain clothing for any 3d characters in my opinion, or hair for that matter. I find myself buying clothing outfits then trying to cobble stuff together, but most often I end up hugely frustrated and give up. I do have to say, however that I purchased the Horror Survivors - Cris for V6 and ended up with a pretty believable Jubilee outfit. I found a few free V4 things a few years ago and made Wonder Woman. I'm not good with doing my own texturing, so if I want clothing to look specifically like say an X-Man outfit I'm out of luck ;/ Would be great if someone came up with second skin sets for G2 M/F, G3 M/F with all the popular Marvel, DC characters if that's even possible. Im working on a Psylocke pic using the Shadow Watcher outfit, seeing what I can again cobble together heh. I have about 10 different ideas running through my head right now. Wolverine, Gambit and Warren Worthington's Angel, either before or after Apocalypse on the male side of things since I usually prefer to create female pics. Heh sorry, huge superhero fan from back to the 80's. I could go on forever lol. Linking my Jubilee pic to show what I did with Cris.

Well that's pretty much what Jubilee wears, so mission accomplished, just don't call her Jubilee and attempt to sell that set as a product. The PA or DAZ can't blantantly copy the IP of others and seek to profit from it, although the Star Trek franchise has been pretty non-chalant about it, others wouldn't. smiley

Yeah, the whole copyright thing would confuse me, but I can't model or texture to sell anything anyways so I think Im safe there ;)

I don't usually have that much of an issue with fitting other figures outfits to current figures. While I love superhero renders, I can't see buying new content in most cases when I have older content that works fine.

Personally I don't purchase most DAZ non specific superhero items as I like liknesses to be as close as possible, so I usually just rip the characters from my games, pose them and then subdivide them. i would be interested in an exact HD outfit that matches some superheros outfits, that could have generic textures and name as not to piss anyone off, LOL.

Very nicely done, and caught the spirit of Jubilation Lee (Jubilee) almost spot on. I actually saw the thumbnail on my smartphone at work and knew who it was supposed to be without enlarging it, for what it's worth.

3DUniverse's Captain Charisma should be out any day now, and even though it's a toon it's a morph of Genesis 3 male, so the outfit should be reusable.

I need all kinds of belts, shoulder pads, and for crying out loud, more capes and cloaks. The hooded cloak is very limiting in style. Waiting for the GM2 bodysuit. Need it.

The only super hero characters I'm really interested in are the Batman characters, especially the Arkham versions.  Unfortunately, there aren't any sets available, even for kitbashing, that can do a proper Arkham style Batman, especially his gauntlets and cowl.

Ditto. Now that I Genesis 3 is more compatibile with Poser 11, my interest in getting more G3 supers content has increased. Shoulder pads, belts, gauntlets, and assorted items of that sort (and yes, capes -- always capes!) are always welcome.

+1 votes to all of the above, especially belts and cloaks.

I would love to have Supersuit for G3! I am not interested in super-heroes, but Supersuit is much more than just a clothing set for Batman/Superman/Superwoman, etc.

@Will: I tried to autofit Supersuit to G3 figures, but it didn't work. Maybe I made a mistake; I'll try again.

I'm trying to make my own superheros for a comic, I got designs and such, so I'm always looking at outfits with an eye at what can I use. If there is an element in an outfit that I can use, such as a pair of visors, I usually place it in my wishlist to see if I can get it on sale. Not interested in recreating favorite superheros, but it would be nice to have outfits to make your own.

Caravelle: Here's the Ultra Bodysuit on G3F

I'll attempt a Genesis Supersuit, see if I run into problems.

Hmm. I had no problem fitting Supersuit for Genesis, either. Maybe you are missing the right steps?

    Step1:

Fit Supersuit to a G2F. Select 'for Genesis, Full body.'

Then refit the Supersuit to your G3F. Select 'for G2F, Full body.'

You need to step it up by generation, if you didn't know.

JoeQuick's Golden Age is great for more Golden/Silver Age designs or more Alex Ross than the modern spandex/leather costumes/unifroms. Something along that would be nice for the current generation figs. I'd really love some more Pulp-era/Mystery Man supers costumes, ala-Rocketeer, The Shadow, or The Phantom.

And I know we can kitbash, but a few more specific to the genre products would be nice.
