Mortem Vetus @ Daz!

It's so great/cool/exciting to have Mortem Vetus at Daz. Welcome, you two!

Unfortunately my RDNA Mortem Vetus purchases (most of your store) have not shown up in my Product Library yet for some reason, even though the email addresses for the accounts are the same.

I was about to say the same thing ^^

Great to see them here, top notch stuff!

They have great things in their catalogue, if only I could have that for g2m (braided hair, templar...), maybe I buy it anyways as I'm lucke to own M4

You can use it on G2M.

I got Ragnarok (the only item I didn't have) for 80% off with the stacked discounts. If anyone is interested in any of these items, TODAY is the day to get them!

Seriously? that would be great news, how well does eg the hair fit a g2m?. (got to see how much I can fiddle out for stacking then, hehe)

Once an RDNA purchase is in the store here, give it about 24+ hours or so before you see it. If it still doesn't show up it's probably best to contact support.

This is easiest done if you have the following product:

    http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male

That product permits autofit for all M4 clothing and provides a UV so that you may use M4 skins/textures on G2 Males. Autofit does indeed vary in how well it works from product to product. I've used Mortem Vetus' monk robes on G2M with mostly good results. The skin textures, of course, all work great on G2! I've used the various Stan-themed creepy clown textures in a lot of my G2 renders.

Don't forget, you can easily use all M4 and V4 goodies and skins (but not morphs) right out of the box on good old Genesis 1. if you've got Creature Creator already loaded on your computer you can literally spend days creating new varieties of undead monsters and evil clowns using some of the textures you'll get with Mortem Vetus' monster characters.

There's an old thread on some methods of fitting older hairs (mostly M4) to G2M here. However, as the braided hair is long it will be more tricky than the short hairs discussed. The morphs included should make it work, but it will need to be tried to be sure I guess. I have lots of old M4 hairs in cr2 and hr2 formats and I don't think there any that I can't still use on Genesis+ (I don't use M4 any more).

I actually got the hair and made a test on one of my g2m customs. Autofit does not work, but using parenting and the supplied adjustments made a pretty good result, I will post that as soon as I managed to sort the side braids with the elfears out.

I know that I can use everything on genesis1 but I don't use it that often (don't have a lot of morphs and expresseions for that one) similar with the michael 4 for genenis 2 males, as I don't have much for Michael 4 there was no need for that up to now.

@ Hiro Protagonist , thanks for the link, I will have a closer  look at that one.

Stan is here I'm excited he wasn't retired, I own him and most of his addons I believe and Betty too.  Quick question is there any reasons to download and install through dim if we have them installed already?

I wonder if the freebies will be migrating over

  • I wonder if the freebies will be migrating over

I sure hope so, or at least that RDNA keep the freebies up as downloads.

  • Lissa_xyzLissa_xyz Posts: 6,116

Their freebies will be available on their own website. They're also retiring quite a few products, the other 100+ or so will be here. Here's their post regarding the move. The 2nd post lists which products will be retiring and not moving over. http://forum.runtimedna.com/showthread.php?104588-Mortem-Vetus-Retiring-Products

I was hoping the clown freebies for Stan would at least move over so that I could easily find them in my product list :(

  • IceDragonArtIceDragonArt Posts: 12,759

I need to re load my freebies on my pc since I just wiped my entire Daz program and started from scratch. I also really need to go make sure my emails are the same.  I have all the freebies loaded on to the laptop but my pc is my main render computer so I need to make the time to just do it lol.  Love his stuff, lots of great creepy dark things that just go so well with fantasy, medieval kind of stuff. Not too shabby for apocolyptic type renders either.  And I am sure the people who do horror are in heaven lol although that's not my typical genre. Quite happy to see him here!

  • Oooh, so it looks like Funnyman is migrating over to Daz. I hope it does so soon, and I can pick it up on a discount...

I have and love Stan but didn't get Betty. Does she work in Studio?--I'm usually not shy about getting 'poser only' stuff depending on what the 'problems' are.but I passed on her and don't remember why.

BTW when the files come into DIM they don't show up as 'new' stuff. You can search for the product name and find it that way.

Also, AFAIK, there have been no changes to the content in the zips except to add the manifest file and re-zip for DIM.

  • kaotkblisskaotkbliss Posts: 2,914

So if the directory structure was wrong (say for example, they had "Mortem Vetus\My Library\Runtime\..." or whatever) then it will still be wrong?

Did you have any issues with your MV stuff showing up? I'm still waiting for them to come through, even ones from the first round of releases. Been pondering a support ticket, but I figured I'd wait until all of MV's stuff is in.

It takes five minutes for my DIM to open and usually that long to update so I don't check every day. I just keep it open and let the new purchases through. Right now I've selected stuff for installing then realized I have to clear some hd space first so am not going to touch it. My experience has been mostly with Star.

I just noticed in another thread that someone just got their mv stuff.

I hope there will be a catchup on the MV stuff. I missed a couple of items on the first day that I'd like to get.

Repackaging to make it DIM installable should throw things in to the correct path but it (sadly) won't magically upgrade products to be compatible with new things.

Well some of us are happy to get them just as they are.   All the ones I have downloaded so far are just putting things into a standard runtime path.  So DS users will presumably find them in the Poser formats.

I've never seen MortemVentus products before this week (not a frequenter of the RuntimeDNA store) but when I saw some of the older male M4 characters in the March Madness promo today I was tempted to try one even though it only had Poser mats. I loaded into DS, increased the bump on materials that had bump maps (Poser settings always seem too low in DS) and ran the Iray Converter for Generation 4 (no tweaks, just basic conversion) - I'm pretty pleased with the results so far.

So now I need to go and buy the rest (I can never have enough older male characters)

ETA: Oh, and port them all to G2M with GenX2, and maybe fiddle with the Iray settings, and ...

I picked up a few items too! Some seriously creepy characters in that collection. Yummy!

  • Hi all,

Thank you for the warm welcome to Daz everyone, you've all been too kind. :)

It's great to be here, we're really looking forward to seeing where this adventure into the unknown goes. We've just been in our little space at RDNA for the last six years, so this is a big and scary thing for us. Please bear with us while we find our bearings, it's all pretty different to what we've grown used to.

We're just setting about learning DS, so when we get more competant with it, we'll be able to start including DS files with our products and freestuff. Luckily, because of the way we do things, almost all our catalogue shoe-horns into DS with minimum fuss....maybe a little squeak here and there. :)

Again, thank you so much everyone, it's been a whirlwind few days and our heads are spinning.

Have a wonderful weekend, and remember you can contact us any time....we don't bite

    Andrew and Tracey

    :)

She works in studio, her clothes mostly do not, well the textures for them don't, but really the character is the best part the clothes are just the best extras, she renders beautifully as well.  Because I don't usually use M4 or V4 I transferred the morphs to Genesis 2.  Her textures are great she's equally creepy and fantastic.

  • Welcome MortemVetus; while I'm not usually one for the creepy stuff, I will say that Stan may find his way into my runtime soon.
