i13 Theatre with Normal Poses!

PetercatPetercat Posts: 2,321

Well, it's in my cart. A theatre is one of those nice-to-have items, but a big plus is that it appears to come with some G3 not-sexy poses! You know, just normal standing, sitting, and walking stuff that doesn't require flexi-ferret genes...

More of this "normal" stuff for G3, please!

I just had a look at this in the store and I was impressed by the size and everything included in it. Though not seeing myself having any use for a cinema anytime soon I have to pass on it for now, but had I not have to worry about budget it'd be an insta-buy for sure. Many of the poses certainly look useable in many settings.

I've got her old theater that's over at Renderosity, but I don't see multiple theaters as a bad thing.  One may look "better" for a given scene than the other.  And if I'm doing a webcomic or something, I don't neccisarily want two theaters to look the same.

  • I've got her theater from Rendo also, it came out in June 2014.  This is a nice update to it, there's enough different there to make having both worthwhile, and of course the new textures are gorgious being in IRAY.  Those parking lots themselves are useful even with other stores which ususally do not include them.    At the price point it's a great deal, Ironman13 pays a lot of attention to detail, and I too am picking it up.

Is there any chance of this getting compatible poses for Genesis 2? An expansion, perhaps?

I love how dense with content i13's stuff is. You don't just get a room here, you get an entire theater, inside and out, with bathrooms and fixtures, and then you get poses on top of that. All in one single product. Even if you don't need the theater specifically, there all kinds of things that can be done with this, like the parking lot, snackbar, and public bathroom. I don't have a need for a theater, nor do I use g3 much, yet I still am considering buying this. If I had more cash on hand I wouldn't even debate it.

How hard is it to convert the iray shaders to 3dl? I mean I've done it on a few minor things, but a whole scene? I loaded up a figure once that said it was 3DL but it was rendering so slow in 3delight that I checked further and found some of the material zones were iray so if I try to convert and miss something there goes the advantage of speed that is useful to me and why I still use 3delight.

I've picked up a couple iray only sets from her but haven't even installed them. It's an 'in case' for the future. So I've mostly been passing on them.

One of the many reasons to love i13's stuff. So many details that can be used in multiple scenes.

    +1

As a Carrara user primarily, Genesis 3 is useless to me, so the poses are a waste (this'll apply to Poser users too, and with the influx of customers from RDNA, there's sure to be renewed demand for Genesis 2 poses...)

I purchased i13 Theatre with Poses and have several questions. But first, I purchased for two reasons. 1/ A complete theatre, with inside and outside render options presented multiple render options and 2/ I have read good reviews for Ironman 13 poses.

Question 1. Does "Compatible Software: DAZ Studio 4.9" mean it will only work as advertised in Daz Studio 4.9 and not in any previous version?

    Question 2. Notes

    • This product includes:
      • 1 DSON Core Installer

What does this mean? My understanding was "dson" was a "bridge" for Daz content to be used in Poser. This product has NO poser companion files and does not list in my Poser library. (I use both Poser and Daz studio)

Question 3. I use Daz 4.8. I am not willing to change to 4.9 for several reasons, not related to this topic. Why is the preview for each suplied scene and using supplied camera, black. How can the user position/pose a figure if the preview is black?

I have added a couple of images.

    Greetings,

Try Ctrl-L or Cmd-L to turn off preview lights; it'll let you see things even though lights aren't 100%.

That field always lists the current version of DS, not the minimum version needed. I see no reason it wouldn't work with 4.8

You're confusing 2 different things: DSON, which is the format used by DS since 4.5, and DSON Importer, which is the Poser plugin used to import content in DSON format into Poser 9+.

"1 DSON Core installer" simply means that it includes files for DS4.5+.

Thank you Morgan, Ctrl + L worked a treat.
