Wound makeup for G3 female?

Hi,

I can't get the wound makeup from G2 to work on a G3 when using an Iray skin. Did anyone manage to get this working? Thank you.

Genesis 3 and Genesis 2 can't share textures without major work on them

  • I know and I don't mind tweaking a bit, but wound makeup simply disappears with Iray skins.

Does it work with Genesis 2 in iRay?

  • In general yes, though the wounds are softer

  • The surface names are different in G2F and G3F.

We are working on a Genesis 3 Iray version of Wound Makeup Artist.  Geometry shells in Iray require a unique offset number per shell when sharing a texture surface, which the new Wet Body Iray products has.  This video shows you how to work with Genesis 2 Wound Makeup Artist in Iray https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtppIu9fAdc

Any update on this? When will the G3 version become available?

There is another product I'm finishing out right now but I'll be working full time on the wounds products next.  I'd say in three weeks you may see the new wounds product come out but I don't want to be over optimistic, that depends on how much time it spends on DAZ QA too.

  • Thank you for the quick reply :-)

What about a 3Delight version for those of us don`t using Iray? I am not going to buy a new machine because DAZ wants me to this because of just Iray products

  • Hi,

Can anybody here tell me what I am doing wrong to get this result?

Can't say I've seen that before.  It would be helpful if you listed which figure you are using, which Wound product you are using and possibly which wound you are using.  It kind of looks like you have multiple wounds all scrunched up together on the fist.  How did you apply that because I don't remember any of the products making the texture of the orginal figure look like that.

It looks like you're missing the transmap.

  • This is Michael 6. I used Wound Make Up for Genesis 2 male. From the folder 'hands' the 'cuts right'. I applied the wound and offset it.

Without the offset it looks the same though. Looks fine in the viewport, just not in the render. It doesn't make a difference whether I render 3 delight or iray.

I brought up my version of M6 and applied the right hand cuts and it works in my version.  I forgot to ask if you are using 4.8 or 4.9 as I'm still using 4.8 so I don't know if this is possibly an issue with the new update as I can't test that.

I was able to duplicate something that looks like your image by removing the image in the Opacity Strength channel under the surface tab.  (I have an image in that slot that is labeled "New Layer 3" which is something that the wound program creates or is hidden as I can't find that image in the folders.  If I remove that image I get an image like your image.  I'm not sure why the image isn't there in your setup as it works with my install. So, check to see if you have an image in that channel.  Right click on it and see if an image is loaded as the actual image doesn't show up in my little square box, but there is an image loaded.  My only suggestion until someone more knowledgeable pipes in is to possibly remove the geoshell and try reapplying it.  Another thing to try is reinstalling the Wounds product again.

  • Thank yuou so much Knittingmommy!

I use 4.8 too. Checked the opacitychannel. This showed a very long list of images. Both a 'new layer' and a 'new layer 3'. Selecting the latter made everything disappear, but selecting the 'new layer' image did the trick. smiley
