cole G3M Fold in Chest

my first render with this character shows a series of folds in the central chest area. Has anyone else found this?

It might help to post an image of what you are seeing.

Be sure you character is grey toned when posting so to avoid the Nudity TOS.

If I change Cole body from 100% to 0% the chest/stomach area is normal.

This doesn't look like the default shape to me. Have you dialled morphs? I think your problem is with the HD morphs, which in a specific character are designed to go with the original lower resolution shape. If you dial out that shape or add other morphs the HD morphs aren't always going to work as intended—particularly if you reduce the muscularity (this can even be a problem with non-HD morphs; the G2M pectoral areas are particularly stubborn and you can get some very ugly results if you try to reduce them). I think the HD shapes aren't necessarily as versatile as the standard res morphs that we are used to mixing and matching. I'm attaching a couple of renders I've done with Cole which look fine to me in that region. I can't see there being a cure for this other than dialling out the HD or setting the figure resolution lower so that the HD morphs have less of an effect.

Try removing all the maps...I'm not convinced this is a map, problem, but it would eliminate normal or displacement as a cause.

  • There's no displacement map and the normal isn't very strong (nothing in the bump to cause this). I'm pretty sure this is the HD morph.

It would be, as the Cole morph is the HD one that contains these stomach HD morphs.

To me it almost looks like one or more morphs is doubling up...

It looks like the HD was dialed without the base morph applied.

    http://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-cole-hd-for-gianni-7 ; (Cole for G3M) requires Gianni 7 ( http://www.daz3d.com/gianni-7 ), if you don't have him it's not going to look right.
