    That reminds me — there's an old table and chair set made in the Saba'a AlKair style, I wonder if there's any chance of that having Iray materials as well?

    Hmm... anyone know where the lighting setup mentioned in the Iray addon's store page might be? Can't find anything, only the light set in the 3Delight folder.

    Yea the table/chair set is on the list of stuff.. ;)

    The lighting setup is part of the !!Pre_Full scene, given its really simple.. I didn't feel it needed to be seperated into it's own preset.

    even better. I must say Saba came out well in your time lapse....out of interest did you make any material adjustments?

    Only to the floor stones and the palms, the floor was little too wet for my taste , just added some roughness  , and also added translucency to the palms leaves . The materials in general was just fine for the rest of the stone work . Sand stone actually does not have that glossy, unless it is high polished but in this case it is unlikely due to its raw surface so let pretend it was just wet , also the first opening scene use HDRI maps for the light and rendered with caustics , as I noticed that rendering Architectural object with caustics on , create more light in dark areas , as the light reflecting better , but of course the rendering time  slowing down , so  I switched to Sky-Sun only and turn the caustic off for faster process .. usually it rendered from 12 to 30 sec per frame . with only 200-400 iterations , easy materials  easy renndering , the glossy surfaces actually speed up the process of rendering as well , more diffuse longer rendering . I have many TJs sets and they always render fast in general .

    Thanks You know I thought Saba was marble. Yeah regading Caustics I just found that myself regading bounce light. I am doing a forrest acene at the moment and with Castics ON the differecne in visbaly clear. I like to add transluceny to plant leaves too if they are close to the camera.

    That's the scene I loaded, and I don't see anything. The only lighting is just the default Iray environment light, is that what you meant?

    Killing me. I want that Saba Alkair, but not willing to pay full price. And by the time it's on sale, I'm sure the Iray addon won't be, but I don't want to spend money on something that I might not use for a year... ARGH.

     

    Maybe March will bring me joy. ;)

    I purchased the {Iray } upgrade thinking it was it .. soon I realized not so fast you need the original base .. I had no choice  I returned to the store then the coupon pop up thank me for using Connect so it was sweet deal :) plus I got also the chair set to match the rest , it is worthy the full price anyway

    Yea the addon was like $1.20 over the weekend I think.. however full PC price is an eye-watering $2.99 :D

    I know the feeling.  Saba Alkair is one of those sets that has been on my wishlist for awhile, but haven't managed to get yet.  However, I did go ahead and pick up the Iray Add-on when it first came out and I was able to get it for under $2 so I figured I'd go ahead and invest in it even though I didn't have the set yet.  I'm really hoping to get it the next time JT's store and/or products goes on sale again.

    FINALLY was able to pick up Marrekash Souks today.  Been on my wishlist since I first started 4 months ago.  So excited to finally be able to get this as well as the add on (and numerous other items on the list today). Jack has his own rapidly growing section of my customized content library lol
