I hope someone can help me...I'm trying to get K4 clothing onto Genesis 2 so I can use them with Growing Up.
I've read and tried everything with no luck so today I purchased GenX2 AddOn Gen3 Kids and V3 and M3 Shapes for Genesis
as I read the auto follow would fit clothing but it's not happening....Forgot to add I also have GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2.
I don't need K4 character morphs converted on Genesis 2 I just want to be able to use the clothing.
I've installed K4 and morphs, V3 and the newly purchased items but I'm well and truly stuck so hope someone can help.
What should I be doing tutorials are few and fair between...., or is this impossible?

Those add-ons are for the generation 3 kids, not K4, and are for moving morphs, not clothing.
You'll probably need to autofit the clothes to Genesis 1 first, and save that as a Support Asset > Figure/Prop Asset, then clear the scene and autofit the newly saved item to Genesis 2.
Mikes solution should work. You can get a K4 clone onto Genesis 2, but you have to use GenX (or transfer utility) to get a K4 morph over to G2F or G2M, and then change this morph into a clone.
Thanks for this, Mike and Havos. Very useful.
It's funny how bells were ringing when I saw kids 3 but it didn't register...grrr!
I've tried the autofit way but there's a horrible distortion on the dress skirt...thank you Mike and Havos;)
BTW: Using those add-ons your bought you could create morphs for M3,V3,A3,or any of the 3 kids (laura, maddie, matt etc) on Genesis 2, and change them into clones. That way any Gen 3 clothing can be autofit directly onto G2F or G2M. Like any autofit items, how well it transfers will vary, but it will look 100 times better than attempting to autofit without the clones.
Skirts are a pain -- I find SickleYield's products like SRMS help a lot with those kind of items.
The problem with skirt is to pretend skirt works as a skirt while this is rigged like pants. The SRMS' magic is that this insert different bones that allows skirt behave as a skirt, independent of legs moves.
How do you go about turning the morph into a clone, and where do you save it to use with autofit?
Havros, yes I'm looking forward to converting some old V3 Samildanach models..can't wait to try them on G2:)
Mike and Gigi...I'll have a look into the SRMS...thanks again:)
If you have the correct morph, you can turn it into a clone using these steps:
1) Locate the morph in the Parameters tab and switch to "Edit Mode" (This is done on the little menu button on the parameter pane)
2) Right click on the morph to become a clone, and select "Show in Property Hierarchy", this will open/highlight the property pane and show your morph in it (alternatively you can skip step 1 and find the morph directly in the property hierarchy pane yourself)
3) Right click on the morph in the property hierarchy pane and select "Show Parameters". This pops up a small dialog with the parameters for that pane. The fourth field down is marked "Type" and will probably show "Modifier/Shape". Click on the small arrow to the left of this and change to "Modifier/Clone"
4) You can now autofit clothing using the new clone on your figure, but you need to save it so that the clone appears each time you load that figure. To do this you go menu and select File->Save As->Support Asset->Morph Asset(s). Do not save as a clone asset. This pops up another box where you can must locate the morph under the Genesis 2 Female (or Male) section and select it. This way the morph is saved as a clone in your data directory, and can be used for auto fitting in the future.
I know this all sounds complicated, but is relatively easy once you have done it once.
Here is an example of the K4 clone for Genesis 2 in action. I have autofit K4s 50s dress onto G2F and the Winter Fun outfit onto G2M. As can be see there are issues in the front of the dress, which is typical with autofit regardless of the source figure. The Sicklefield products highlighted by Mike can help here. I find the fit of using a direct clone is generally superior to autofitting twice (ie first to Genesis using its clones and then to Genesis 2).
Ok thanks those directions sound easy enough to follow, now for the first statement.."If you have the correct morph"...which morph do I need?
It depends which character you want a clone for, do you have Generation X2?
Yes I have GenX2 and all the addons for it
Load G2F or G2M and look in the Parameters tab under Actor->GenerationX->**People**. You should see any shapes that you have transferred across at least one character or morph for.
If the morph you want is missing, the go to GenerationX, Click "Source" and load the relevant CR2 file (eg K4) and then choose Selected Morphs as the Mode. Select any morph for the character in the main box (eg Stretch Arms, but any morph will do). Now transfer to G2F and G2M as two separate steps. Now load a fresh G2F/G2M figure and look again in Actor->GenerationX->**People**. This should have added the base shape morph, and it is this you can use to make a clone.
Thanks Havos, I will try that when I have my laptop running tomorrow where I have majority of products installed, I only have a few things installed on this machine while trying to come to terms with installing via Connect
