Question for the toon modelers out there

Hello, forum folk. I'm a long time Blender user just now picking up Daz. I have a question for all the toon/stylized character modelers out there: Do you find yourself using Genesis 1, 2, or 3 as the base for your characters? From the looks of it 1 looks like the best bet from just some cursory explanations, but this is partly because I haven't bought any extra morphs for 3 and so only have the Evolution set for 1. I'm interested to know how, or even if, people use the three Genisisesesis or pick one and stick them. They all look like they'd be good in different situations. Any advice on this to a new user not used to working with pre-made content would be much appreciated.

I usually use earlier generation figures. With the RDNA merge I hope to see more of their toony figures in the store.
That being said Genesis 1 seems to be the most versatile of the Genesis figures.
Depends on if you care about how the toon bends. Since a toon is not realistic anyway, this maybe unimportant, but if it is, then you should use Genesis 2 or 3, as they bend better. Also Genesis 3 has the extra facial bones, so may help your new toon have more interesting and vivid expressions.
I like the original Genesis for creatures and toons that shapes are 'extreme', mainly because the generalized weight mapping and reduced limits on joint movements minimize 'weirdness' when posing them.. The Genesis 2s and 3s I feel are best kept realistic to semi-realistic humans, humanoids, and toons with the advance facing rigging in the Genesis 3s being great for over the top expressions often seen in cartoons.
Those are some good points. I only have original Genesis morphs to play around with now, but I think what everybody is saying is right. 1 best suited for all kinds of general things. Some day I'll fork over the cash to morph 3 but I'm pretty impressed so far. Thanks for the advice!
Genesis 3 is supposed to have improvements explicitly for export to gaming fbxes which sort of implies toon style models too. They can decimate to be smaller files and look better at higher decimated percentages than earlier Genesis characters.
The Morph 3D characters in the Unity Asset Store are based on Genesis 2 Male and Genesis 2 Female and have alot of adjustments that can be made in the Unity editor that are already organized for you programmtically and so that's nothing to sneeze at. The question is will those be upgraded to Genesis 3 Male and Female?
The original Genesis has an advantage somewhat for programmers and resource management because the same base figure is used for the all the characters.
I've made toony morphs for both Gen 2 and 3. One advantage of gen 3 is the face bones which are particularly nice for toony characters. My gen 2 morph would have needed custom morphed expressions to look good. My gen 3 morph just needs the bones in studio. And its super easy to get big exaggerated expressions with them
I am attepting voluptuous yet muscular/toned genesis 3 female character, I am happy with the over all shape but need to smooth it out for the final look I want, would "Megan" or "the girl 7" be help or do i need to export the mesh into another app?
