Alembic Exporter for DAZ Studio questions

I read this can be used to export a figure from DS to another 3D program for animation.

Can it also be used to export for the purpose of rendering in another program also.... ?

Also, could I export, eg., V7 from DS to Poser to work with it there.

I am obviously unclear about this utility, so feel free to direct me to a more useful thread of page.

    Alembic doesn't export figures as such - it exports only the paths followed by vertices. That means it faithfully reproduces the animation in the source application, at the expense of largely losing editability.
