Have you ever wondered if you could morph Genesis 3 Female into a sphere?

I am under the impression that it is not possible to transform G3F into a sphere by using bump, normal or displacement maps.

Therefore:

You can create interesting effects with morphs that you can not achieve with maps.

quod erat demonstrandum

Ok, I could actually have fun with a morph like that... Bouncing Boy from the Legion of Superheroes anyone?

Edit: thinking of things, a similar extreme morph and maybe associated pose could have RawArt's Muud figure rise up from a puddle shape...

Literaly the thought in my head from the topic.

  • you can make millions with that morph!

now we need some iRay shaders and done...

  • Heh! I had made a morph like that for Genesis 1 but figured nobody would have use for it. It animates weirdly though.

  • Hmm... my gif isn't giffing. So just imagine him dancing and ballooning out into a sphere.

The issue is that while it is fairly easy to morph a human figure in any other object the UV will be completly distorted in the process.

Guess what we would need is a way to not only morph the geometry but also to transition from one UV to a second UV while morphing.

So yes, the main way to use such extreme shape shifting morphs currently is with shaders.

You can apply any Iray shader you want. You may get some interesting effects by using scattering, transmission and refraction.

You can apply any kind of pose that is compatible with Genesis 3 female to generate some random blob like figures.

    Example:

In those 2 images you can actually see three Genesis 3 female. One sitting and two with different poses and the sphere morph applied.

    OR Reflection pass:

OR beauty pass & Refraction pass composited with a mask for the sitting G3F of the Reflection pass:

The whole scene is extremely noisy because of all that environment medium fog so just another WIP that hid a dead end for now.
