No suit for Genesis 3

Does the no suit only work, if you use the figure that has the mapped zones? Like if I wanted to apply to Micheal 7, but just on the legs. I found the morphs, and tried adjusting them, but I didn't really notice anything change on the figure...except for the feet.

I just wanted to use them on the lower part of the figure, but not the feet.

Or do I use the figure that came with the package and then control click on Michael 7 to apply his textures to that figure? And then use the body morphs to dial in Micheal 7. Then I guess I would apply the right materials to the legs then.

BTW...I tried searching for this product in the store by using "No Suit", but it didn't come up in the results.

Thanks.

Michael 7 is based on the Genesis 3 figure.

There is however a No Suit Morphs product for the Genesis 3 Male.

So either KevinH was meaning to ask about it, or Michael 6 which would be Genesis 2 based.

The No Suit is for Genesis 3

There are two parts to the no suit. There are morphs and there are textures.

The morphs simply morph the shape into having the appearance of having a body suit. There are Low Definition and High definition morphs. The HD ones will likely not show up well until render time. These morphs are available on your regular G3M and can work with any character in your library.

The second part of the set is the Material presets. The material presets only work if you use the special included figure, as this figure has new unique material zones.  This figure is just like your regular G3M, except for the new material zones. That means you can apply any character preset you like onto him, and the morphs should work without a problem. The only difference is the new material zones.

  • Ah, I saw the G3M and G3F and figured since there was a G2F version there would be a G2M version...

Thanks. I did mean the No Suit for Genesis 3. I have corrected the title of the thread.

I was using the HD morphs, so that explains why I probably didn't see anything visible change. I hadn't tried to render yet.

I did see that I could apply the material preset to the figure that was supplied with the product, but not to Michael 7.

The one thing I'm not sure about...how do I add a figure texture to the special included figure. I always load my figures by going to the figure library and clicking on Michael 7, for example. That loads the figure and the texture. Are there icons somewhere to just load the M7 texture without the figure? Or does control-clicking on the Michael 7 figure allow you to do that. Or is there some other way to do this?

I suppose there could be material icons for M7. I know there are for other characters. I just never had occassion to look for them before now.

    Thanks again!

Yes, there is an icon for the M7 skin. Load it to the figure that comes with the No Suit. The skin will look like it does on the standard G3 figure, but you can put any shaders you like on the new material zones to give the appearance of a lot of different clothing. Use the shaping tab to dial in the morphs you want: M7, Leo 7, Gianni 7, or whatever.

You should find material options in both Smart Content and Content Library to load whole "skins" on the No Suit Mat-Zone figure (don't have G3M version so used G3F as example).

You can use Surfaces Tab but that doesn't automatically load settings and bump/normals etc.

EDIT: Should have refreshed before posting. You're already happy with answers. Oh well.

No, no. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I appreciate it. I must have posted while you were posting.

    Thanks again.

HD morphs in general can't be seen properly in the Viewport before rendering because the figure's SubD setting is too low. Go into the Parameters tab, bump it up a notch or two, and you'll see the difference.

Ok...looks like you have gotten some answers.

If you need more, I will keep an eye on this thread

I think I am good. I was actually wanting some long johns to use on my model, but there don't seem to be any. Then I thought maybe I could use something else, and I thought of the No Suit. Not sure how successful I'll be at getting them to look like long johns, but I'll give it a shot.

    Thanks again for everyone's help.

I have a question - where do I find the separate morphs for the G3 no-suits. Those that loads just glowed hands or ears gone and so on.
For the G2 I found them in Characters\RawArt\No-Suit and then I just clicked on the right morph to load what I needed. But I cannot find them for the G3's, there's only  one morph and that one loads all and everything.

    What am I missing?

You go to your "Shaping Tab" and in there you will see morphs under "Actor/Full Body/No Suit"
