Offline Install doesn't work?

I'm trying to install a product using the offline package, but every time I do, DS crashes immediately. I've submitted a help ticket, but I was wondering if anyone else was having issues?

Which version of DS?
Both regular and Public Beta
Which product is it? Do you have both the SEP and SEA files?
it's the Aave Nainen Vanilla Poses that come with his MeriMay Dress. I have both files, placed in the correct directory, but Studio just crashes as soon as I hit 'Install Offline Products'
As far as I understand, the computer you want to install on off-line needs to have connected to the DAZ servers ONCE in order to obtain the machine specific key. Did you do that? Obviously, it should not crash in any case, but it might be important to know.
TD
I've logged in with both versions of DS, and both crash.
I don't have that item so I can't test it, sorry.
OK, did a complete wipe and re-install of DAZ Studio and the Beta, and they still crash when trying to install the Connect offline packages. Interestingly enough, after the crash, the product shows up in Connect as installed, but with no files. I tried this with Breast Controls for G3F, and the same thing happens. When I check the product file directory, there's only one 0 byte product file.
In any case, I'm waiting to hear what support has to say.
I think I do have Breast Control for G3F, I will download and test.
Thanks
I don't get a crash, but the product does refuse to install even after uninstalling the DIM version:
You might add that as a note to your support ticket.
If DAZ3D wants its users to look at this new system in a comfortable and positive light, this should perhaps be fixed ASAP. I was about to try the offline install scenario on the laptop I use when traveling. Think I am gonna hold off on that for a bit now.
I don't get any of those errors when I try to install. The only thing that shows up in my log is: WARNING: cloud\dzcloudtasknotifier.cpp(178): peer performed orderly shutdown errno=0, repeated a few hundred times, and WARNING: cloud\dzcloudtasknotifier.cpp(178): Could not fetch key, is valid (1) size is: 0, requested: 16 about midway through.
Thing is, shouldn't this have been fixed before the general release? Surely someone tested the functionality of the offline install process?
Yes the products are tested very heavily. Sometimes an error occurs in the final wrap up phase of creation. You just need to report it to Daz and they will get it fixed pretty quickly. Sorry fro any inconvenient it is causing.
Finally had the bright idea to try a different product, Crown Circlets for Any Figure, and what do you know, it worked! There must be some kid of issue with the installer for Breast Control for Genesis 3 Females and the one for Aave nainen Vanilla Poses for Genesis 2 Females, because both of them crash my DS immediately.
There are a number of products that cannot be installed via offline packages but are incorrectly being offered in product library in offline packages.
The products that aren't installable via offline packages are the same as the products that can't be installed via Daz Connect (since it uses the same installation method internally). So any of the V4/M4 morphs, anything that is a plugin or anything that requires extra scripting/commands to be run upon installation can't be installed via Daz Connect via either directly installing it online or the offline packages.
I get what you're saying, Rawb, but these are just poses and shaping morphs. They aren't plugins, they don't require any extra scripts/commands to run, and I have dozens of similar products that install just fine through Connect. I don't see why these two specific products should have any issues.
Well, add Ghost Bride for Genesis 3 Females to the "Won't install through Connect" list.
Seriously, is anyone else encountering these problems?
Would you please add a ticket for this one, because I don't see any reason this shouldn't be installable. Thank you for bringing it up, I'm guessing it is either a stuck cache issue or something went wrong with the import. If this was an online install, could you try "Fetch Metadata" from the connect menu bar dropdown and try installing it again?
Tell support that I sent you, and also include your log files so we can get the investigation started a bit faster.
I added it to my existing ticket, since it's doing the exact same thing.
Tried Update Metadata, nothing happened.
