    I'm fairly new : )

    - Came here in May 2014

    - At that time, DS 4.6 was the latest version and Genesis 2 was the latest and the greatest.

    - I also took a long time before I actually purchased anything as I was hesitant to spend any money on my newfound hobby at first so at the beginning, I was just grabbing all the freebies including Victoria 6 which was a very pleasant freebie : )

    - My first actual order took place on August 7, 2014 and what prompted me was the offer where they were giving away one Genesis 2 model for free for all orders that exceeded 50$.

So I grabbed Genesis 2 Female Morphs Bundle, Victoria 4.2 Started Bundle (I just wanted her because I saw she was also a popular figure, havent really used her since : D), and Short Ponytail for G2F.

As the free figure, I picked Olympia 6 : )

  • My first order from DAZ was March 16, 2001 and I purchased:

    Charger map

    'Millennium Woman' Victoria 1

    'Millennium Man' Michael 1

I bought Poser at Egghead Software back in the mid-late 90s. I was a Hash, Inc. Animation:Master user from 1994 until the early 2000s.

  • I remember Egghead Software! I think I got my first copy of Bryce at one in San Francisco.

Okay, what the hey, I'll play!

My first DAZ purchase was sometime in 2005.

I was looking for content for my fresh-out-of-the-box (yeah, I got it from a software store -- remember those?) copy of Poser 6, stumbled across DAZ, and instantly grabbed Victoria 3, Michael 3, David, and Stephaie 3 Petite.  And then I went to town, hoovering all the clothing and accessories I could find for them: from ShareCG, PoserWorld, RuntimeDNA, Renderosity, and a couple of others whose names I can't recall at the moment.  (No big, they're probably no longer in business, anyway.)

I wandered away from 3D art for a few years, then came back to it in August of 2009.  And then I really got busy here at DAZ!  (I think I have a little more than a third of their entire catalog at this point!)

I downloaded Byce, Daz and a few freebies in April 2012 but I really began to play with it at the end of that year. My first purchase was a PC membership on January 1st, 2013 but the first real items I bought were the Genesis Evolution Morph Bundle and hair (Sandy Hair, K-Nicky, Classic Rolled hair).

First DS version 1.2 - not in order history ...

First freebie: The Old Shoe House April 2006

First spending money: Jenna for A3 March 2007 in March Madness for $1.60 - those were Mad prices! LOL
Bought her even before I had the A3 morphs and maps - but there was the free V3, M3, A3 and H3 package at ... CNET? something like that.
It was legal, that I do remember, because I don't do pirating ... and I used Morph Manager to copy H3 morphs and empty morph channels to A3 (still have that A3Hiromorphs.cr2 in my runtimes - LOL).

Yes, it was at CNET, and was totally legal. There was quite a bit of complaining from previous purchasers in the forums when DAZ decided to make those available for free ;)

Heh, I remember searching out various magazines for CDs with DAZ content on them.  Still have a few, not that there's much from them that I don't have in my purchases these days.

Edit: Just looked through them... Aiko 3 and a bunch of stuff I have through the store now (3d World #69). Cararra 1.1 and a demo of 2.1 (Digit #66)... M4 and some clothing (ImagineFX #44)... I'd swear there was one with Freak stuff, but I can't find it that disc and the magazines are all long gone. So far, the only things I haven't otherwise bought are Dauntless and the M4 Warp Master outfit. And Cararra I suppose, but the one on the disc was Evoia's so I don't think that counts.

1999 when DAZ was till part of Zygote.  The Dragon (the one in the PC) was $79.95 and the texture was another $39.95.  Back in those days, models and textures were sold separately.

The first item in my order history was V3 in January, 2006, but I know I was around earlier, since I do have a copy of DAZ Studio 1.8. It doesn't show up in my content library, presumably because it was downloaded from a proxy, which I recall was authorized back then.

Oh, and I, too, have a Zip drive and disks (I never actually had one fail, remarkably). I also still have its big brother as well - a Jaz drive and a couple of disks. It was less popular because it was a SCSI drive, but the disks could hold a whopping 1 GB (later 2 GB). Sadly, I did have one of those fail with the "click of death".

  • Michael 2, with (but not because of) the promise of a free "Mystery Model" upon its release (which turned out to be Stephanie). December 2001, after I got Poser 4 for Christmas.

  • I suspect the 'mystery model' was why my Michael purchase was done around that time.
