about "our lost future"

So i was looking at http://www.daz3d.com/our-lost-future

Gorgeous as always (and is that Alessandro's wolf?)

Anyway my 5 year old son pops up, staring at the screen and suddenly blurts out, "Mommy, I want to go THERE! That place! Let's go there on vacation!"

I explained to him (as he's seen me do computer work and 3d stuff before) that it's not a real place, it's just a picture, etc.... also that i can't afford it right now >_<

and he kept insisting he wanted to go there... bwhahahahaha.

Stonemason, just wanted to say, Way to go. I think your images are inspiring the heart of an explorer in my son. He even said, "but maybe there's TREASURE there!" :)

He also said that there should be a dinosaur tho, so take his comments with a grain of salt. HA.

Love the work as always :)

Supposedly, he was working on a canine expansion for it (in lieu of the much requested new DAZ Dog). I am eagerly waiting for it, myself. Also, the wolf cubs.

  • and i've been begging him for a mousie for ages :) hahha

but seriously great promos Stonemason. HOpe to buy the set eventually. ya know i would if i could! :) Looks awesome

that is some seriously nice modeling. Not poly-heavy to kill your calculation time but the detail is gorgeous.

Couldn't resist.  Going to be an awesome addition to my colletction of Stonemason.  Along with the other two items I bought.... Such beautiful detail....

Always love Stonemason. Still thinking about this one, but the Bank Manager on my shoulder is offering restraint. However car has passed its annual MOT test and I've passed my annual sight test (or, perhaps better, failed in exactly the same way as last year), so all is well with the world.

A dog by Alessandro would disappear into my cart at first sight.

My first reaction was that it remined me of the sub shuttle station from Genesis II, a post-Star Trek Gene Rodenberry show. Memories are a little better than reality, I found the show on youtube and, well, young me was a little more awestruck I guess. But now I have to figure out how to get a sub shuttle into this lost future.

And pretty much any animal by AM is a no-brainer buy.

  • I have to wait on this one till payday but as soon as my direct deposit hits, this will be the first thing I purchase. Thanks for another great set Stonemason.  By the way, the clouds work wonderfully!

  • I was absolutely blown away at the promos for this piece.  Great design and, as usual, it is extremely hard to resist a Stonemason set.

    thanks :)

I looked, but couldn't find any.  I ended up making some of my own.  I ended up collecting like a 50 reference photos of wolves and used those as a starting point.  AM's poses are great, but there were just some that I felt were missing.  I have about 5 different poses I'm working on fine tuning and about 20 more planned to do in my spare time.  I found out that I really like posing characters whether human or animal.  When I'm done I plan to figure out how to package them up and will be putting them up for free on ShareCG so that others can test them out.  I've never done that before so it will be a first for me.  It will probably be finished by the end of next month so keep an eye on the Freebies board.  I'll post there when they are ready to download.

This has gone straight to the top of next week's shopping list.  I'm  also looking forward to seeing Knittingmommy's wolf poses, since I already have Alessandro's wolf.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

I really hope that others will like them and find them useful.  If they are successful and others can use them without problems, I plan to do some pose sets for some of his other animals.  The bear cub is next on my list of animals to pose once the wolf poses are all done.

As for Stonemason's set, it has been sitting in my cart all day.  I have a feeling it will be mine by the end of the day.  It is going to be just too hard to resist as I have all of these ideas for how to use it popping into my head.

Haha Knittinmommy I lasted all of 5 minutes.  And my wish list for his products is so long it wasn't exactly hard to find another two items to toss in there.  Can't wait for a bit of spare time.  I have like six new items to play with.  I got the clouds the other day.... I'm going to need a third job i think lol....

Can't wait to see your poses knittingmommy.  I usually use purchased poses as a beginning point then adjust to suit.

LIke all intellectual property, they can restrict the physical work. But, at least for now, you can't be made to "un-know".

IIRC, wasn't he offered jobs at Weta and ILM?

Yep, I bought his clouds when it came out, too.  I don't think there is much of his that isn't on my wishlist and when I click on his store site, it says there are only 32 items for sale because I own all of the rest!  I did put the two crate products in the cart with Our Lost Future.  I don't know how I managed to not have these already.

As for poses, I do that, too.  I ended up doing poses so much from scratch, though, that I started saving all of my presets and I figured that others might like some of them which is why I'm sharing starting with the wolf set as there aren't any of those out there so they might be useful to others.

  • I just hope there are more coming to go along with this. An abondoned interior would be great!!

My direct deposit hits tonight (or, more accurately, early tomorrow morning), so I decided to "jump the gun" a bit.  It's awaiting download at the moment.  And the reason it's awaiting download....

I still have to clear the queue of all the stuff I got last night; otherwise, I'll lose track, and overlook something.  It's happened before....

The bear cubs are weapons-grade cute, they'd look good with Stefan's "Our Lost Future" as well.   This is currently lurking in a corner of my wishlist, from which I intend to let it escape next week.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

    Stefan,

I have both Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending on Blu-ray.  They both look stunning although Jupiter has a heroine who's a grade A wimp - Ellen Ripley she isn't.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

  • Snagged this set as soon as I got home.  Looking forward to playing with it this weekend!  Thank you Stonemason for making another great product!
