Gateway sale. Enough, already.

Please. Just have the darned sale. Don't try to make be buy something that I don't want first, okay?

How much extra will you make, anyway? $10.47 or so?

Is it worth it? That 50% off on stuff I want doesn't look as good if I have to pay to play first.

Especially since I know if I skip this sale now, the things that I actually want will be on sale again later on.

we have been saying this for years.

However someone might say "let daz decide if it's worth stopping or not" blah blah.

But i agree with you. i dont even consider sales like that. I dont even look around for a minute.

To be fair, at least with this sale you have to buy any new release, including PC+ items, so the entrance fee is somewhat lower, and with a wider pick of items to get. Normally you have to buy one of today's releases to qualify, giving you a pick of 4 or 5 items. You only need to buy one of today's releases for the GC discount

True. But it should also be noted that you have to buy one of today's featured new releases to qualify for the Gift Card discount

Looking at today's items and not wanting any of them, the main vibe I got was that Daz thinks they're so hard to shift that they've got to be included in a sale like this if they're to tempt anyone at all.

Logically I know this is probably not true if I give it some thought - everybody's needs and interests are different and there's always the possibilty that even I might actually have a need for one of today's featured items on another day. However, I still don't want any of the items today and won't be buying, and it's only reading this thread that made me give it that extra bit of thought at all. Since we're told that forum users are in the minority, there will be a lot of other people walking away with the same first impression of the sale and the featured items - a first impression that Daz won't get a second chance to make. Ordinary sales that generate everyone's interest and make money from the customers that spend without causing those who don't to lose interest entirely must surely be a lot less risky.

I like the poses and picked them up with my monthly gift card. It is nice to have a men's content item in the store.

There are some itmes that I would consider purchasing, and they may make it into my wishlist.  But to make a purchase would require having the funds to do so,  ::sigh::  Maybe one day I shall play the lottery and win big! But then I would have all those taxes to pay.  Not sure its worth it.

Is it only today's new releases that gain you admission to the sale? If so, I can't qualify as all are for Genesis 3 & iRay, which is currently unuseable to me. sad

No. Any "new" releases, even PC+ items, will qualify for initiating all the sales EXCEPT the Gift Card discount

Why can't they just have a sell that say's something like:

    "30% off on eveything"

    And thats it period.

30% is not going to excite anyone these days, apart from a new release. Discounts on non-new stuff is normally 50,60 or even 70%. I guess to compensate for this discount they want shoppers to get something new as well (which is naturally discounted at 30% off).

The 30% was just an arbitray number. The idea is to just state a certain % discount  with pc memebers getting their added discount on top without all the extra convoluted small print being needed.

  • The minute I see that some sale item is tied to another item my reaction is   "no"..... I do not buy it. I decide what I want to buy NOT Daz.      But since Daz doesn't seem to care about what their customers want I suspect that nothing will change......

Well, even though it never appeared in the "qualifying new items" section of the gateway page, I added "Northern Terrace Street"

to my cart, it showed as $3 + change, and got me the Gateway discounts on everything else. Good thing I wanted the Northern Terrace Street set!

(Which is an excellent product, by the way.)
