Trying to Connect Via Firefox but...

it keeps going to internet explorer. I don't use internet explorer except to log in to my work site.  I want it to download via firefox.  But it refuses to connect to firefox.  How do I fix this?  I am doing a test on my work computer to see how it all works and well, right now, its not.  Its registered but I can't get to my account via firefox.  which is updated to the latest.

Are you trying to download by clicking the blue download button or the green one?

Or is it even before that?  Like at the login page?

When I click on the connect button at the top of the screen and say, try to go to my account, it keeps going to internet explorer and I get an error message that my browser is out of date (and it is, but I cant upgrade because our work files only work in the version I hve installed).  I did figure out how to download the free content anyway lol.  But I would still like to connect via firefox not internet explorer.  I don't even have internet explorer on my home machines.  Its not a huge deal since this is just a test but I need to know everything is going to work before I move it to the actual computers I use to render with.

  • Have you set Firefox as your default browser? The system is not running a browser as such - it is passing the system a link, how the system handles that is a matter of local settings.

Unfortunately with the amount of scripting going on, it is very likely that if the version of FF is very out of date, a browser check is actively preventing it from connecting.

Is this a Windows computer?  What version?

If it is a 64-bit version you should be able to install Waterfox to run side by side with FF (that way the files that need that particular version of FF will still have it).

Will have to check when I get back to work tomorrow.  It may be set to internet explorere by default because our work program is built to only work on internet explorer and not the most current version either they are several versions behind (don't ask, I have no idea why someone would make that particular decision).  Firefox was updated today.  Will have to check on the computer specs tomorrow.  Thanks for the help!

That's what it sounds like...set to IE as default and maybe more.

Well, on that computer it doesn't really matter. I'm just testing 4.9 a bit before I load it to the pc and laptop I acually render on.  I just want to make sure it will work the way I need it to work. When I upgrade my main pc and laptop, hopefully it won't be an issue as everything is set to Firefox as default.  I will check out the waterfox as well.
