Anyone know of some Fantasy clothes for Kids 4, loin cloths, etc. I saw a Fairytale Gnome, so I am aware of that one. I have fantasy clothing for Michael 4 but it won't fit kids 4, unless there is a trick to making adult clothes fit kids.

You can convert M4 clothes to kids 4 using Evilinnocence's Crossdresser program.
The program itself is free but you'd need the licence for Kids 4: http://www.evilinnocence.com/shop/kids4-crossdresser-license.html
Thanks for the info, thats certainly something to think about for the future. I was kind of hoping for just some simple clothing without add-ons,................but if it has to be.
Kids 4 are always causing me trouble, to bad daz hasn't updated them, that would be really cool. I'll bookmark that link, but if I can't find anything I may just stick with the simple pants I have on them now.
I noticed the promo's for http://www.daz3d.com/k4-elf has them with a loin cloth and different pants.
Naturally you could use Genesis 1, morph it into K4, and then fit any clothes you wanted from M4 via autofit, or are you using a very old version of DS (ie 3 or before) where Genesis is not an option?
I didn't find any kids 4 morph under Genesis. Actually I'm already using the K4 elf morph. No early version of Studio, I'm using 4.9
K4 morph can be found under hidden Hidden/Clones, you have to select "Show Hidden Properties" to see them. K4 morphs can be transferred to Genesis with Gen X (this will also create you a full K4 morph) if you have this, and naturally K4 skins work on Genesis without any additional products. I do not have the K4 Elf, but I do have Gremloids, also by Raw Art, which is another K4 creature. Below I have transferred the Gremloid to Genesis, and then Auto fit a couple of M4 items from L75 War Oso.
Thanks for that info Havos. Can u possibly show a screen shot of this hidden hidden/clones? I checked "a" 'show hidden properties' and I don't find any genesis morph for K4.
I was aware of Gen X, but the price is rather expensive (for what it is) that I won't pay that price. It would have to be on massive discount for me to pick that up, and of course that would be a future sale and therefore doesn't do me any good right now on the piece I'm doing.
The loincloth and black pants are M4 items from this pack: http://www.daz3d.com/woodgod-m4-h4
Sweeeeeeeet! Thanks Leana, that is very helpful. That item is also kind of expensive, it won't help me right now as I don't ever see paying $20 for that, but I could use that for M4 as well, so I will wishlist it for the future when it goes on a nice sale. If I can't sort the Genesis morph thing out, I may have to put this piece on hold, which doesn't bother me at all really, and get Gen X and The Woodgod item when they go on a good sale. Thanks again Leana.
oops, I didn't mention that I guess with that woodgod item I wouldn't need to have a genesis morph, but what I don't get is how that item worked for K4, because almost in every case when I have applied an item NOT for K4, they did not work, usually the item being too big and could not get them to fit. Must be a daz trick that I don't know anything about. ::::::shrug:::::::
CrossDresser?
Here are the screen shots you asked for. With the Parameters Tab selected, click on the menu botton in the top left corner and one of the options will be "Show Hidden Properties"
With this selected, under Parameters->Genesis->Hidden->Clones, you should see an item called "The Kids 4". You have to unlock it, and then go to Properties and switch off the limits (otherwise you can not move the slider). After this dial to 1, and Genesis will turn into K4.
I know Gen X seems expensive, but I would recommend you add it to your wishlist and consider it the next time it comes up for sale. For me, the tool is indispensible, and if I could recommend just one product, that would be the one.
Thanks for the info Chohole.
Is that a daz product? I could of swore I've seen that once before, but a store search comes up with nothing. I tried it as all one word, and also as two seperate words and nothing.
CrossDresser is found on EvilInnocence's website. I don't have the link on hand at the moment, but now you know where to look at least.
I have looked through my K4 items for any with a loin cloth, or similar to what you see in the K4 Elf promos.
There is this one:
https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/barbarian-boy-for-k-4/61289
More caveboy, than fantasy elf, but it has the advantage of being free :-)
This has a better loin cloth, and if you are in the PC+ very cheap at 1.99

Not a loin cloth, but definitely fantasy, and may look good on an elf is:

Another freebie, and an Elf Outfit is the item at the bottom of this page

Another indian outfit with a loin cloth is the following at RNDA, price is 3.89, so not too bad

Naturally if you could transfer your Elf to Genesis, you have many more options, or you can do as Chloe suggests, and use a clothing transfer app to move M4/V4 stuff to K4. Anyway, I hope I have helped you with a few options.
Havos, I owe you an apology for your time. You know what happened?, my Daughter, her Husband and my grandaughter are over visiting and I've kind of been messing with this scene and this post while visiting with them, and with the confusion and all of talking with them, I forgot to load a genesis figure. Thats why I was not seeing the K4 morph, though somehow before they arrrived, I hadn't seen it either but I do se it now. Thank you. That worked out great. Now to see if I have some Genesis clothes that will fit, and hopefully no more problems, errr, except I need to figure out how or if the K4 elf morph is going to work with the genesis figure, because they have to be elves such as the K4 elf product. This is relatively new ground for me because I haven't had much of a need to do this up to this point. The clothing caused the need. Thank you again, I have learnt something new and useful. Cheers to you.
True, true. Thank you. I can do a google search or figure that out, I'm sure I'll find it.
[edit] never-mind, in all my bussle today, I didn't realize thats the link Leana already gave me. I got it. Maybe I can purchase this stuff in the near future.
I didnt see this post. Thanks for the links. yes, I'm pc+, that indian clothes for K4 is neat besides my current scene, I might pick that up tonight or real soon just to have, but the loin cloth might work. I'd prefer it be battered but it would still work so long as I can load just it and nothing else. There is some decent stuff in those links, I'll be checking further into a number of them. Thanks again.
There are a fair few elf/fairy/little goblin morphs available for Genesis. It may not give you the same look as the K4 Elf, but you might get close if you combine the morphs with the K4 clone, or the basic child morph. Remember you can still use your K4 Elf skin on Genesis, so it is just a similar morph you need to hunt for. Here is a freebie morph pack with some elves:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/66757/favorite/21/DAZ-Studio/Abode-Chara-Pack-EQ-like-Morphs-Genesis-DS4.5
There is also the Creature Creator morphs available here. In my mind, btw, the K4 Elf looks more like a small goblin, or imp, than an elf modeled in the Orlando Bloom vein.
well, the Genesis K4 morph thing is rather cool, I'm getting some interesting morphs with that. That coupled with The Undead Fiend + Ears Elf + Ears Elf Long is giving me an interesting result for what I'm doing in this scene, which is a vampire figure with the K4 elfs as kind of his little minions/helpers kind of thingie. This route may work well,... if... I have clothes that will work, I will check into this shortly.
Straight Kids4 with the elf product is what I was going for, mainly because I bought it a while back on a great sale and have not used it, so I should get some use out of it. To do that, I will have to go the other routes you guys gave. I will have to make a decision, but at least I learnt something new and have some choices that I didn't know about. I saw the daz gnome and indian products yesterday, but I did not notice the loin cloth on the little indian boy somehow, not sure how I missed that.
I have the Genesis troll and he has a perfect loin cloth for my purposes, but it does not snap to the genesis K4 figure's waist/groin. It appears up in the air where the genesis figures waist would normally be and of course is a much larger size. Is there a way to solve this? I have the cloth Parented to the genesis figure already, that solves nothing.
That is strange. I have the Genesis troll as well, and the loin cloth fit just fine for me when the K4 morph is dialled in. Did you ensure the "fit to" is to Genesis, and not to some article of clothing also on your elf?
Edit: I have seen you are doing a parenting of the item, you need to do a "Fit To"
Yup, I did the fit to thing. It parented under Genesis once I did the fit to. After thinking about it for a minute, this is not the first time I've seen this happen, I've had this happen a lot with hair that states on the item page it is for, say; V4/M4/Kids 4. When applying the hair it would do just like the loin cloth, don't fit right at all, is too big and in the wrong spot, even after a 'fit to...'
I deleted and tried tried fresh again and same thing. Here's a screen shot:
Are you attaching to Genesis or K4? When you do a fit to Genesis, the clothes should automatically scale down to fit the elf, naturally it does not work on K4. V4/M4/K4 hair and clothing that has been auto fit to Genesis should also resize correctly as well.
Edit: Off to bed now, will pick up any more issues in the morning
Ok, this is what I did. I loaded the vanilla genesis figure. I then loaded the loin cloth, of course at this point it fit fine. At this point I tried once with the right click>Fit to <Genesis> and one time not, both with the same results. (Oh btw, it's parenting because by default I have the parent to....box checked in the fit to box, thats why it was parenting, regardless, either way gave the same result of the cloth not fitting). I then used the Genesis Kids 4 morph u spoke of, on the genesis figure, the genesis figure shrank to a child while the cloth stayed up in the air at the level where the Genesis figures waist used to be. Using the fit to once again afterwards didn't solve it.
Sorry you are correct, it appears that the K4 clone does not behave as a normal morph (try posing Genesis with the K4 clone dialed in, very bad things happen). There is a workaround, I think, but I can not explain it tonight. I was using the K4 morph created by Generation X, which is why it was working for me. You could always try dialling in the Basic Child morph, fully dialled in, this looks very similar to K4, and with Basic Child the clothing should morph with it. Got to call it a day now, will help further tomorrow.
Understandable. Sundays is also me and the wifes 'spend time together movie night,' and she will be home from work any minute, so my daz work is quickly coming to an end for today anyway. Any additional info in the next day or so when u have time would be great. Thank you.
I'll have a render up shortly...
Ok...here it is.
I loaded Genesis, then loaded the Troll loincloth, making sure it was 'fit' to Genesis. Next I loaded K4. Then I dialed in Basic Child, to 0.97 (97%), that was a closer match, over all size. I then hid Genesis, but kept it selected. Then I used the scaling dials on Genesis to get an even closer fit.
After I was satisfied with the fit I hid K4, so just the loincloth was visible, in the scene and exported it as an obj. Then I unfit the loincloth and deleted Genesis. After that I used Morph loader to import the 'K4 fit' version of the loincloth as a morph. I wasn't too concerned about making sure that it would be a 'real' fit morph...no worrying about changes in scale, etc...they are all baked in to the exported mesh, so it will 'fit'...but only parented.
Then I dialed in the K4 fit morph I just created, parented it to K4 and started adding stuff to make a scene.
I have managed to make a working K4 morph using just the built in K4 clone for Genesis, but there are a number of hoops to leap through (Basically I export the obj, reimport, adjust the rig, and ERC freeze it). It is not as difficult as it sounds, but it depends on how confident you are with Daz Studio's more advanced features.
It you do decide to use Genesis for your elves, then in my opinion you best route would be to use the Basic Child morph. Dialled in at 0.97 it is near identical to K4 anyway, and since you intend to heavily morph the head with pointed ears etc, then I think it makes little difference if you start with K4 or the Basic Child morph. Using the Basic Child morph you can use the Troll loin cloth, and pose the final figure without any issues.
Thanks mjc1016 and Havos for that last bit of info. Havos, I did infact decide to go with Genesis and use the basic child morph, it worked out well, and adding in some Undead Fiend+Elf ears+elf ears long, gave me something even a bit more fitting for this scene than the K4 elf. I will just have to get a first use out of them some other time, for another purpose.
Thanks again.
