All these discussions and concerns about DAZ 4.9...

And I just went "AHHH! Shiny new DAZ! New sparkly features! SHINY! NEW! SPARKLY! Must have."

Yes, I am technologically challenged and easily distracted by SHINY! NEW! SPARKLY! things. I tried to read some of the posts, but it's all Geek to me. There's something about encryption thingys and connect thingys and whatever else, and I'm just content with myy SHINY, NEW, SPARKLY DAZ 4.9.

    I'm very concerned if DAZ Studio 4.9 will steal my socks...

    The dryer keeps taking them and if DS 4.9 finds out about that somehow, possibly by reading all my posts here, then I'm concerned it may try and horn in on the action... I don't have a lot of good socks left and I'm afraid I'll have cold feet or get attacked by that Lamisil monster, whom I'm pretty sure is in league with that Mucinex monster.

    What if DS 4.9 finds a way of hooking up with some evil government computer like SkyNet?  I saw the Terminator movies, I'm aware how easy that is and how quickly it all goes downhill...  Ooooh nicer subsurface scattering, more meta data and BAM! A T-1000 is kicking down your door and shooting your cat for wanting cheez burgers... And because you named it Sarah Conner... Which you have to admit is a strange choice of cat names and you sorta set yourself up for that eventuality.

    What if DS 4.9 becomes self aware and falls in love with me? Then it feels rejected and tries to kill me by hiring a internet capable toaster to jump into the shower with me... I already shower infrequently enough, I really don't need that hanging over my head...

    We really don't need to keep making everything more Internet entwined and cloud friendly... This is how all the cheesy B-movie horror stories begin.

    Aww thanks for reminding me of that song yes I tried to avoid watching, but couldn't help myself ....and now that song is stuck in my head ...Still a good song though !

    So will DAZ 4.9 monitor what assets I use, and how often? 

    Will it keep me from using assets not purchased from DAZ 4.9 or later?

    Will it give my personal information to venders so they bombard me with advertisments?

    Will my favorite assets be disabled if I don't use enough of other, more expensive assets?

    Will DAZ send flying monkeys to eat my brain?

    Will they???? well???

    No. Well, they never said they wouldn't send the flying monkeys, but I doubt it since that would prevent you from buying more items ;)

    I don't have to worry about that, I keep my brain hidden in plastic storage box somewhere in the basement... Somewhere... I wish I knew where... I hope I closed it last the last time I checked on it... Mice keep getting in there and peeing on it.

    I don't care about encryption or anything as long as the content I buy works properly and so far, everything is working fine in 4.9 so yeah I love updates and I cannot wait for DS 5.0!!!! : )

    I spent $115 yesterday. Finally bought Victoria 7, Michael 7 and a bunch of ther fun, shiny toys, including one that I had almost bought the day before: The sale saved me about $11 on pwToons. wink

    I'd post a pic of Vicky7, in all her glory, taking out the flying monkeys with a chaingun...but it woudl violate the TOS (and I haven't made one yet...can't find a chaingun).
