Songbird Remix Not Installing

In Daz Studio Format, they are not installing using DIM.  I have uninstalled and installed twice, I don't even get a Figures:Animals category structurel This is a LOT of bandwidth wasted downloading  all these, as I did the entire Songbird Remix collection.  Are they located anywhere else other than here? (Content Library only, not interested in Smart Content. They should be where they are supposed to be.)

You can find new icons for this product in the following DAZ Studio Categories:

  • “Anatomy:External”

  • “Figures:Animals:Air”

  • “Poses:By Function:Flying”

  • “Poses:By Function:Sitting”

  • “Poses:By Function:Standing”

  • “Poses:By Region:Full Body”

    These products are no longer in the DAZ Store since Ken took them to that other store.  I bought them from the other store.  The ones I have are under Poser Formats in the Content Library. They are in Figures, Poses, Materials and Props. I assume the versions that were sold earlier in the DAZ store were Poser Format products too.

    I've found some (maybe all, still checking) under the Poser Formats>Figures>Songbird Remix. They need to update that ReadMe, it's been ages.

    Mine all turn up in Smart Content under Figures - Animals - Air - they are mostly .cr2 files, but will load from Smart Content OK. Then with the bird selected, my Smart Content has the Poses and the Materials. The add-ons like crests are also there under Anatomy - External.

    They are also all present and (apparently) correct via Content Library under "Products - S - Songbird xxx" and under "Categories - Default - Figures - Animals - Air"

    I installed my 14 Songbird products in December via DIM. They haven't turned up as Updates in DIM so I don't think they have changed. I'm still using DS 4.9.0.24 Beta though (it works quite nicely for me so I've not updated it) so maybe there's some problem in later DS4.9 versions.

    I noticed that your quote "You can find new icons for this product in the following DAZ Studio Categories" says Categories. That is not the same as folders. (I know you know that!). Were you looking for folders by those names instead of categories?

    I did find them in Products in Content Library, but over the past couple years I've noticed (and it's been commented on) that sometimes that isn't the same as what appears when you find the product using categories. I think I butchered the name when I was looking for it, maybe even looked under Remix instead of Songbird, but I'm not sure because I uninstalled and reinstalled (again) and the second time they did appear. Arrrggh. BTW, I did a Google search and Ken's site (don't know the name of it, it will be apparent when you Google) the updates in 2013 are available at HiveWire if you open an account/have one. Does anyone know what updates those are? I would assume the birds work fine without them? Been ages since I looked at these.

    Thanks Melanie. No, it's not a 4.9 problem because I'm not touching that again- it butchered my custom categories after I had used it for several days! (Barbult's a trooper, she's still tackling it and it's still demolishing hers on a regular basis the last time I heard.)

    Novica, are you installing via DIM? remember to right click on them after installation and see "show instaleld files" - that'll tell you exactly where they installed to. 

    Or are you meaning that you're not seeing them in Categories/Products/Smart Content etc? Maybe they don't have metadata as they are too old?

    I think it was an installation problem, because after I re-installed they were there. (And yeah, I had clicked the "i" in DIM to get the ReadMe, that's what I copied/pasted.) I've had a few problems with installations when I do a large number of them, but I've found them. Thanks, all!

    Ken's products are not being updated any longer at DAZ

    A number of the products were updated when Ken brought them over to HiveWire - not sure what those involved but they're listed as updated at his site

    I'm sure this is all "old news" now, but even though it shows up on the Poser format side, my products still do support DAZ Studio, it's just simplier for me to list things that way. Some special code tells DAZ Studio to load Studio materials after loading the Poser based file.

    I knew there was a rush so I waited since my list is yuge. Then I kept putting it off. But don't be surprised if you get a list from me. I think I got almost everything here at DAZ (and filled in most of the blanks at HW after the move and also got the new ones). There might still be a gap or two but other than that I think I've been one of your biggest customers..but really no rush since I've waited this long no problem waiting longer to get them in my account over there. Anyway, thanks for all the birds---it's an incredible collection.

    As a bit of a Heads-up, Ken is about to plunge into another round of updating the base models. Not sure whether this is going to be a free upgrade or a paid one, but so far, if you can give him your order number for here, you can get the free ones from Hivewire.

    It's humongus upgrade, so it's not going to be ready all at once, or particularly quickly.
