    Just confused.

It has the Outlet symbol, but no price reduction.

Yes, last day this was outlet was 8-29. There is an ongoing issue, of which Daz is aware, that the outlet symbol isn't being cleared on some items. I've reported this.

    Thanks for the explanation :)

RANT: When Quick grab was introduced, i thought quick grab would be the one rotating items and 'Outlet' would be the one having things ADDED to the pool, as it will just 'grow'. Having a rotating pool for Outlet is more FOMO all over again.

  • Why would it be exempt? The technique needs to be  applied everywhere to work properly.

re: The temporary price drop, rotating stock, FOMO, etc: I only have the budget I have. I spent it on price drop day and it'll be a while before I go again.

  • just want to ask a dumb question without having to read through pages and pages of forums.

I have items on my wishlist with an icon in the upper left hand corner that directs me to the outlet store, yet those same items do not appear to be present in the outlet store and are more expensive then the range of cost of the outlet store

I am not a Premier or Daz+ subscriber

    here is an example https://www.daz3d.com/temple-of-tranquility

why is there an outlet store icon present?

does it only appear in the outlet store for subscribers?

does it only appear occasionally in the outlet store?

  • It's a bug, I think. A LOT of Stonemason's stuff has the outlet store tag on it right now, and isn't in the outlet store.
I only wish I could get that much of Stonemason's catalog that cheap. xD

thanks, about to buy a whole bunch of Stonemason's stuff, but didn't want to find out later I could have got it even cheaper

it's a bug, I'd be out of business if it were for real

  • I'm having fun but I seem to be burning out quickly. I had a cart total of $24.71 and used the 30% coupon which only dropped it to $23.11. I think I might have missed the "Featured Artist" requirement by about 99%, but I'm so tired this evening I just laughed.
Then I clicked for my 4 tokens' 22% discount and it only dropped the total down by about a dollar. I almost snorted my beer.
At Rendo earlier, I strategically gathered items to meet a $15 minimum requirement for a coupon, and then remembered the coupon about 2 seconds after clicking the button.
Maybe I'm too old for this, but on the other hand, I'm too old to care. I'm just having fun. Maybe I'll regret it when my Social Security income for this month runs out early.

As much as I'd love to be able to clear a huge chunk of my wishlist all at once, I'm glad it's a bug. Your work is always exemplary and I'd hate for you to be unable to afford to continue!

But by that logic, eventually the whole store would be Outlet because nothing would be rotating out....

I agree it would be nice to have a better idea when that was going to happen, though, especially since the last one was a very long stretch without a change, including multiple "last call" style emails that were not even close to when the change DID happen.

Why the whole store? If month by month you just grab a portion (and in case of PA, with their concent of course) of items that passed certain 'age' and/or are not meeting expected sales you can grow the outlet in a healthy way without needing to remove or change the pool completely.

That's sensible - Even if it were 6 weeks or whatever. Quick Grab changes frequently, Outlet Store changes at a standard interval. Seems simple and efficient - I thought they'd actually do that. But Daz likes to dazzle us with their randomization of everything. Screwed up my planning. I missed some items, though other treasures did drop in my lap.

One thing that's interesting about having wide selection of decent bargains and limited budget: I'm sometimes surprised by which items actually end up in my cart when I make the purchase.  It's sort of a revelation. The test cart says, "This is what I think I want." But some items get axed and others get added in a frenzied test process. The final cart that ends with a purchase says, "This is what I actually want." Fascinating. Not what I expected at all. Well, that should be fun. Anybody else feel that way?

The Outlet icon sticking around on product that was removed from the selection is definitely a known bug. There has been at least one Mod post in the Sales Reporting thread to the effect that the problem  is being worked on. Who knows how long it will take to get that fixed.

I should've been more specific; in my head I was defining "whole store" as "everything that would be eligible to become an Outlet item" (so not, for example, new releases), but I see that didn't come through in what I typed. Apologies for that.

But the general point stands that if things are only going in, and never coming out, eventually everything eligible to possibly be in the Outlet will be in the Outlet. (Depending on how big of a chunk they take, of course, but if they just skim a little off the top I think people will be frustrated with that).

I could see an ever-expanding Outlet as something that would that seriously depress sales on other assets. People will hold off buying things because well, if you wait it'll eventually end up in the Outlet. The PAs who choose not to participate are going to be seen as expensive by comparison. Possibly we'd lose some good ones if their sales drop. Also, what do you put on a special discount off older items if all (or a majority of) the older items are in the Outlet? In addition, with membership coupons not working on the Outlet, those too are going to be less of a selling point to get people to sign up on a monthly basis, especially with how hard it can be to spend them now with other discounts tied to coupon codes.

And, as I'm sure you've noticed, Daz operates a very large chunk of its marketing on FOMO. Removing that uncertainty would be... uncharacteristic.

Very much. Yesterday I had one of those. It started out with the great price on Stonemason stuff, and then came the lovely revelation of the potted herbs in that Boho Kitchen set. Well, I had 8 tokens to throw at it all, and I liked the Galaxy Diner, so I might as well get some solid mileage out of the discounts, right? Started going through my wish list and dumping things in the cart just to see what they'd do. Then went back through and asked myself if I would actually get ($whatever) amount of use out of them. A lot of stuff got tossed back out. I wound up with the entire Boho cottage because I suddenly realized one of my side characters lived there (even though none of it had been on my WL) (and I don't actually have the base for that character yet), and several things that I kind of forgot about because they're always in the higher price range. Meanwhile a bunch of assets that've been on my WL for over a year are still on my WL, even though they were in the 90% off range.

Of course, none of it was from the Outlet yesterday because I jumped on the discount day on Monday... hence the tokens. But it happens with Outlet sprees, too.

Is the bug still present on Featured Artist/Outlet Store items being mislabeled? I see a lot of items this one that are showing Outlet icons but are not Outlet priced.

    Thanks.

Yes, it's a bug: many items on sale yesterday ended with an Outlet icon, with the added bonus of not being eligible for Daz+/Premier coupons. The later bug was solved during Daz office hours, but the Outlet icon is still here.

Well, all I can say is that any product with the Outlet store tag without the Outlet price will not find itself in my cart anytime soon.

I don't see any items on the Quick Grab page, is it just me or has anyone else noticed this?

It's likely like that for anyone and was reported a couple of hours ago.

Now, I suppose we will have to wait for someone to arrive at Daz office for a fix.

Quick Grab page is broken, yes.

It's happening to me, too. In fact, that's why I'm checking this thread lol

We have pointed this out, I suspect some manual intervention is required for this feature.

The Quick Grab is now there. Some of the items have wrong (non-Outlet) prices, but when you put them into cart, they're corrected.

  • SilverGirlSilverGirl Posts: 2,791

Cool that the Brave Corsair outfit and the texture expansion are both in there at the same time. Definitely made me more likely to put them in my cart!

Outlet Store turnover is about the 1st day of the month?

Does anyone have a good estimate for when the Outlet Store will change again (with the obvious caveat that none of us actually know)? I seem to remember it being around 2 months last time between the store being created and the selection of items updating to different stuff, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I feel like it's got to be soon, but I don't want to buy up the remaining wishlist stuff I have on there only for it to stay up for another month or more. Especially when many sales have had deals where you get a bigger discount if you include an Outlet item, so I don't want to buy up all the Outlet stuff I actually want prematurely
