Hard to reproduce:
Occasionally, the latest ALPHA shows the wrong material in preview and final render, although listed correctly in the material parameter list.
first: DS 4.24
second: DS ALPHA 6.25
Still a thing. No improvements, still the same issue with the 2026 BETA.
can I please get the 3D Connexion 3D-Mouse in the new 2026 version. That is all I need to fully switch to 2026, as I develop in 2024 and render in 2026. With very large scenes with a lot of characters that takes a lot of waiting just on loading and deleting.
You can find the 3D-Mouse in EDIT menu and Device Setttings sub-menu.

I'm starting to do most of my work in 2026 because of the faster load times for large scenes.

What are your system details? Which GPU driver are you using?
My current driver version is: 581.80 but I have also tried: 591.86 and actually several 59* versions. The problem has been there for a while already but I just thought it would go away by itself eventually so I ignored it until now.

Do you have DS4 installed? Does that launch if you do?
Yes, I use 4.24 most of the time. The old 4.24 Public Build still works as well, but 2026 crashes. I have tried with a clean profile by deleting the files in Roaming/Studio6 Public Build but it makes no difference.
Is there any plan to at least keep 4.x around? As an organization, DAZ has been very recalcitrant to typical software development practices, and makes it impossible to install any but the most current version.
To date, any request for Linux support (which is more than it ever has been) is met with "We're not doing it, but you can run it in Wine."
I've been trying, and unfortunately, this is not the case for 6.x. When DAZ just rolls over 4.x at some point, this is going to become very frustrating for Linux users if the approach remains the same.
If Daz does with 4.x what they have done with previous versions the final release version of 4.x will be available to those who have 'purchased' it in their product library permanently. It will not be available to people who don't already 'own' it --and it will not, due to contract requirements, include 3DL.

Maybe I'm missing something, but that does not appear to be the case. This is from a fresh DIM install. I made sure every download filter tag was seleted, including DAZ Studio 2025 (6.x), DAZ Studio 4.5+, DAZ Studio 4, DAZ Studio 3 & DAZ Studio (<3), every architecutre, public build--everything. Then filtering for daz studio, these are the options (attached screenshot).
Also, to be clear, I didn't "own" DAZ Studio back in the ~3 days, but I did in the original 4. So, if the theory holds up, I should at least see the vanilla DAZ Studio 4 release (not the 4.5+).
Daz already said that DS4 would remain available for download, if only so you can keep using the plugins that don't get a DS6 version. That's indeed what they've done for DS2 and 3, for people who had it in their account.
But as usual with Daz only the latest minor version of each of the major versions is available for download.

The Beta (6.x) works in all of the major Linux distros forked from Debian, Fedora and Arch. Wine is just missing a .dll which is critical for the Beta to work properly which you'll have to download manually and copy into your prefix. Have a look at the last few pages of the Linux thread - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/60901/daz-studio-and-linux/p60
Debian-based distros are, from my testing, the most problematic with slightly sluggish UIs and no denoising available. Fedora and Arch-based distros using the KDE-Plasma desktop are the equal of Windows and may actually perform better. It all works but if you still have issues post them on that thread - there are plenty of people who can help.
So Nvidia showcased DLSS 5, i do not care what gamers think but there is feature called Neural Radiance Caching (NRC), it is a ray-tracing tool. Unlike other DLSS feature like upscales or Frame Gen, this NRC thing can be implemented in iray engine and like FG which generate fake frame this feature can generate fake Ray Tracing light using AI and can make render time very low. It can make a 5000 render to500 iterations. This NRC thing can be called a Generative Ray Tracing tool. Now some demo of dlss 5 looks like SD1.5 or SDXL level (Which is AI Slop Look) but it will improve to z--image or other new model quality in future. Any person with actual knowledge plz give me your input as i only have superficial knowledge. My English is Bad sorry.

Might be relevant to some people, Daz is sensitive to some intel processors which have microcode issues.
It will be useful for yourself and them if you post you processor, or check if your processor is prone to these issues. Updating your motherboard drivers will often fix these crashes, but you may have to replace / RMA the processor if its degraded to a certain point. Intel increased the warranty for this. It usually manifests as random crashes in various applications that will appear to be consistent per application. For example, photoshop will crash at the same point or 3dsmax will crash at the same point. So it can appear software related.
Something I've noticed with this and the last version is that I'm not able to let DAZ Studio sit in the background for extended periods of time without it locking up. In previous versions, I could start a scene and work with it, then let it sit idle in the background for days but then switch back to the program and continue rendering or editing the file. Now, if I switch to work on something else for a day or so and come back, the program doesn't respond at all, it's completelly frozen and has to be force-quit.

Amazing, thanks. I may make a video if I have time and will point to here for credit due :). I'm quite familiar with that thread, but I saw comments about Alpha not working and missed the good stuff. I also saw all the cascading DLL failures and over-rode pretty much every one without noticing that single SOB was a Windows DLL and thus not in the install folder xD. Anyhoo, thanks!
And DAZ folks, if you could.....go ahead and support this natively, .that'd be great....yeaaahhh....
Has the font size in the interface gotten smaller?
Lately I've had problems reading the text.
Is there a setting to adust the text size?
Are you using Mac or Windows computer? My understanding is that the text is extra small on Ma, and Daz is trying to resolve that problem. I have Windows, so I haven't followed the issue closely.
I don't even know if there is a "Mac Native" version of DAZ Studio 2026 Beta.
Things were disrupted when Apple started using their own Silicon CPUs.
The Daz Studio "Style" that you use can affect the size of the text a little bit. You can try a different Style in Window/Style menu. Each style has different color schemes, too. See which one you prefer.
I don't even know if there is a "Mac Native" version of DAZ Studio 2026 Beta.

There is no Mac-Native version yet but it is being worked on. Things were "disrupted" before Apple started using their M-series chips, which is why the Macs couldn't access the Filamant rendering engine with their Intel chips.
To clarify, DAZ Studio stopped working on Macs when the 2020 OS (Big Sur) came out. That was the only real "disruption"; when they updated DAZ Studio to get it working again in second quarter of 2021, it worked on both Intel and Mac Silicon and continues to work on both without any real disruptions. I've been using it on Silicon Macs since early 2021 and have no Silicon-related disruptions to speak of (outside of occasional hiccups for some that accompany most updates, be they Windows, Mac or Nvidia).
Yes there are current Mac-Native versions of both DS 4 and 2026.
However… we’re stuck with CPU rendering for Iray because the Apple Silicon processor doesn’t work with Nvidia cards.
(Some older iMacs from before 2020 had Nvidia GPUs, and there were Mac Pros from back then that one could add an Nvidia card to, but those systems are approaching Apple’s 7 year cut-off for OS/security support.)
(I’ll take this opportunity to reiterate my hope that Daz brings in support for the open source Cycles rendering engine—which comes from Blender—so that they can support more than just Nvidia GPUs and have cross-platform OS support.)

Tadaaa! Solved!
Now it works.

I have this log line:
That makes me think maybe it selects the wrong GPU for OpenGL rendering. My display is on the 3090.

Since there is a new major version, will it be possible to install 4.x alongside 6.x. I know the beta can already but I mean when it goes to release ?
That will be the same once it's a general release, it won't replace 4.x general release.
