Oooo...thanks. I was making some Iron Age clothing for a model in another project and it's pre-tartan, so these are great!
Silene
Thanks - I like to use procedural shaders.
Thanks Silene,
Here are 3 more simple examples...

Hé, tu es douée aussi pour beaucoup de choses avec Carrara, merci pour tout ce que tu nous apprends!
Wonderful... thank you!
Silene
Having fun applying 'Checker' pattern to a sphere...
Attached .car file contains diffuse maps for all three shaders as a guide to create your own.
Experiments. Some "mehhh" ones along with some nice ones.
Great experiments Bunyip
A better Argyll shader using Checker and Wire patterns in a Multi-Channel Mixer (not something I've used before - thanks to Bunyip for the idea!)
Attached .cbr file
PS: I can show an animation of the Argyll shader here (you will need to create your own 'pink' one changing the relevant colours and reduce the bump sizes for a more silk look, whatever
thanks Selina,
some of those look muchly like the patterns on some of my shirts

Thanks Selina, they were a great base to work with !
Thanks Boys,
STEZZA: Some of the patterns were inspired by patterns on a pile of shirts I had to iron and others from coats hanging in the hall
BUNYIP: You've been so generous of late on your thread dedicated to shaders I wanted to give a little back and these are just base patterns for use as colours or bumps or highlight maps, etc
Hello Selina, your shaders covered an area missed in the tutorials, a worthy addition to the knowledge base, thanks !!!
Also happy to do the thread on shaders, when I first started Carrara they had me going "EEEEK", so I figured it would be useful for newbies or those wanting to expand their use of shaders. Nice to give something back !
thanks Selinita, look great very kind you are!
Thanks Headwax,
Using noise to create an interesting BUMP texture for use with the Checker patterns...
.cbr files attached as indicated above (ie inc) for you to see how they are constructed
Thanks Selina
Thanks Selinita, you didn't know your machine would crash and you'd lose stuff
