So I have had a lot of requests for something on how to do custom categories and finding content.
So we are doing a webinar workshop.
https://digitalartlive.com/event/daz-studio-content-library-workshop/
Here's the official low down on when where and what I will be doing. This is going to be a very interactive
kind of thing, I will be spending a fair amount of time answering questions and helping anyone who
wants to go over their own library content. I will also be showing a variety of ways to actually find some of that
elusive content lol.

DAZ Studio Content Library Workshop

Sonja McClung (IceDragonArt) has had a long journey in getting her DAZ Studio content library into a structure that works for her!
After losing her original DAZ Studio content library to a hard disk melt down and then going through a period of mourning, Sonja decided to use this disaster as an opportunity and completely restructured her content setup. It took many months of planning and effort to get everything into place, but it was very well worth it!
Now Sonja can create her artwork as much as 80% faster, because finding content is now easy and a snap. Inserting new content into her system is just as fast.
In this interactive workshop, Sonja talks about:-
- A disaster making her a master
- Her category folder system and why it works for her
- Content management tips
- Managing DAZ store content
- Manging 3rd party content
- Backing up and restoring your library.
- The Daz Install Manager (DIM) and the Content Manager
In addition we’d like to hear your stories and tips about managing your content:-
- Are you starting from scratch? Let us know how your library looks like now.
- Got a system that works? Share with us.
- Share your top tips for maintaining your library.
- Questions on the DIM or Content Manager

Oh awesome! Congratulations on the webinar! I hope that it's super successful! :)
Is there a link to where people can sign up for the webinar - is it there and I'm just not seeing it? I've been out of coffee for the past two days so my brain is a fog right now, so if it's there and I'm just not seeing it, forgive me. :)
Ah thanks! Ya a link would be good right? I've added it
I picked up the video version of your Daz Studio Content Library tutorial during the recent tutorial sale. Lots of valuable tips there, especially around how you assign multiple categories to be able to find things depending on how your thought process is working for that scene.
I'm one of those who lost their content library several years ago due to a HD failure. I've been muddling through using the standard content library structure because I'm scared of doing the category thing. :) My DIM installed content is over 4500 products now. Out of curiosity, I did a search on my current Content Library folder tree and found I have 143,692 DUF files to categorize. That doesn't count older Daz or Poser format files. I suppose one day I will have to bite the bullet and start the process anyway. Or be resigned to having content which I have purchased and will never use because I can't find it.
One thing that bugs me and I'm not sure how to deal with just using categories, is the "!Load All" wearable preset thing. If I categorize that into "Fantasy Armor" or "Modern Dresses" category, how do I tell the difference between that "!Load All" and the other 6 dozen "!Load All" files that vendors like to create instead of using more creative names?
