Michael 4 Shapes++ NOT injecting into base figure.

So: I've got Michael 4 installed in Poser, I installed the Morphs++ and the Creature Creator morhps all in the same runtime. I click on the INJ Morphs++, and it says it's loading, but the 11 Full Body Morphs are nowhere to be found. Same thing with the Creature Creator. The morphs install in some of the body parts (notably, his head), but the full body morphs I need so that I can use other morph sets are NOT there.

Possible complications: I have Michael 4 in a runtime from Poser 7, when I went to install the Creature Creator morphs(just purchased), I kept getting a message that it had to be in the executable directory for Poser, that would be the (x86) file directory (I'm running Windows 7). BUT I also needed Michael 4 in there, so I turned off the UAC, and put him in there instead of my Poser 9 Content runtime. I also put in the Morphs++ and the Creature Creator Morphs. Tried loading Michael 4 and injecting the morphs: SAME problem.

Are the multiple locations of Michael in the two runtimes a problem? Or is it something else? This issue is holding up a project that has taken a long time to put together. For it to be stopped by one technical issue is MADDENING.

Help.

Don't install the morphs to the application folder - that will give problems such as you are seeing. Instead choose DAZ Studio as the target application when installing M4, and then install the morphs to the same folder as M4 (the folder that holds the Runtime folder, that is).

Yes, having multiple versions of M4 usually is a problem.
To bypass the "look for poser.exe" when installing the morph packages, just select DAZ Studio as the tharget application, it will install the exact same files as selecting Poser but won't bother you with that.

Also make sure you're using a freshly loaded copy of M4 and not one from a saved scene or saved to the library as a cr2: if you do that it won't have the channels needed to use the morphs so they won't work.

Thanks! I'll have a go at it tonight, clean out the duplicate M4s, and see what it does. Isn't there also a .exe file in the Libraries that creates morph channels in the figure?

    runtime:libraries:!DAZ:DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat

Make sure you don't have more than one Runtime with a "Runtime:Libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4" folder.

  • I know this thread is quite old but I've just run into this problem.

I've had Michael 4 since his creation and up till now he's worked fine but last night when I tried to load his morphs they are nowhere to be found, I only get some morphs in his  limbs and all his head morphs but none in his body.

You say that I should load M4 from the DAZ Studio directory, but why would M4's problems start now when he's been working fine up till last night, has DAZ put some kind of code on my computer recently that would cause this to happen?

Hoping someone can help with this 'cos if not I'm going to have to start using some other male figure not belonging to DAZ which would be rediculous.

Not sure if it will help, but I would first try running the bat file.

I don't know all the rules for installing the morphs, but I always install M4 and all his morphs to the same runtime and be sure to run the bat file after installing everything, and run it again if you install new morphs for him. The bat file is located in:

    Runtime(the one you installed to)\Libraries\!DAZ\DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat

DAZ used to put an icon on the desktop for running it, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
