Sometimes the Timeline Sim works better than the Single frame. If so, Morph the lass around the half way point and pose her near the end of the sim. Due to the volume of the fabric, a 50 frame sim would be the minimum I'd try. But Generally, a single frame sim works just fine.

If you want to make the dress shorter, use that morph before you do your simulation.
