  • Details

It's challenging to fill up your digital scenes to give them that lived in look. Especially city streets and highway scenes. As a result they look empty and sparse. The solution is vehicular props with just enough polygons to make it look like a vehicle and give the details in the background without the extra overhead that bogs down systems.

1stBastion's Oncoming Traffic lo-poly props does just that. The first in this series is the Low Poly SUV, perfect to fill up those city street, highways, parking lots, motels and school driveways that need that little bit of clutter in the distance to make a scene come alive. Each of these vehicular props are just 1500 polygons, with each tire adding another 168 polygons and various other attachment props like sirens, all in an effort to manage resources requirements and keep it to a minimum. And you can hide and remove parts of the SUV to speed up renders even more.

The benefits are that you can easily place, 20,30 50, of these into your scene without a big hit on performance. If we do the math, the polygon count of 20 of these would be similar to one fully dressed Genesis figure. The trade-off is these vehicular props are designed for mid to distant renders. The low poly count angular surfaces start to get more apparent inside the 10-20 foot range.

The set comes with the base SUV model already preloaded with a number of textured versions. You get a classic white police car, a standard black and white cop car, a fire department supervisor's vehicle, a city Yellow taxi, a Security SUV, a nondescript Black SUV that those government type seem to like, an ETF SUV, and a paramedic's SUV. That's eight in total.

Fill up your scene with oncoming traffic. Includes versions optimized for both Daz Studio 3Delight and Iray render engines.

Please note, these are props that look like vehicles, but there is no rigging, and the doors do not open, and the wheels do not turn. They are designed to be stationary and parked props placed in the backgrounds of your scene to fill up the distance.
