  • Details

Tau Ceti Overseer is a complete sci-fi suit, with a clean mesh and detail-packed textures.

THE SET:Tau Ceti Overseer includes 12 independent pieces you can mix and match as you wish. It includes several hide options for maximum versatility (the bodice can range from a full sci-fi bodice to just a very stylish shirt or pantie).

TEXTURES/MATs: Tau Ceti Overseer styles are all PBR and include Base Color, Diffuse, Metallic, Specular, Glossy, Roughness, Height and Normal maps, to render amazing in any 3D engine you decide to use. From Daz Studio ones (Iray and 3Delight), to higher-end ones (Octane, Reality etc.); the included maps will allow you to achieve professional looks without much effort.

MATs for both Iray and 3Delight are included.

VERSION: Tau Ceti Overseer for Genesis 3 is a complete new product. All the items were reshaped and adjusted to best fit Genesis 3 and all included morphs were created anew. The textures were created from scratch, only keeping the pre-existing style. The UV maps however stayed the same, so that both this Genesis 3 version and the older Genesis 2 version can use the same textures and add-on textures and MATs (new and old).

INSPIRATION: Tau Ceti Overseer style talks about near-distant worlds and heroines and it's perfect for human and alien characters alike.

MIX and MATCH: Use all the items together or mix with any other clothing item you have to create a custom futuristic heroine: an Overseer that uses magical powers, or weapons, or even stealth, this set will fit them all.

Tau Ceti Overseer can range from a light armor, to a full fighting suit. Both the Bodice+Hood and armor pieces can easily fit many other outfits and styles. They include hide and fitting morphs to help you create your unique character. For example the Hood includes several morphs to move its "buttons" so that you can fit it over different garments.

    DISPLACEMENT(HEIGHT) vs NORMAL maps
    - Displacement or Height maps change the very geometry shape and silhouette of the mesh, in Iray (and other engines such as Octane, for example) this is based on mesh density.
What this means is that the higher the items density/polycount/subdivision the better the result, but also the heavier this is on your system.
By default MAT poses set the items resolution at 3, this is a decent parameter to have a good looking Height detail, however sometimes the smaller details are lost, so the MAT poses also apply the Normal map.
Technically this is not accurate, as both maps include the same kind of data, but as explained, it's a kind of trick to get as much detail as possible without the need to subdivide the items too much. (The Displacement details were painted/created in ZBrush where each item was subdivided to several million polygons).
NORMAL MAPs: if your system cannot handle the higher Geometry, you may want to just use the Normal maps. Note that while they will look fairly all right, the very shape of the items will not change, so your character contours will look flatter than they should. However, you still get most of the detail and this can make a big product such as Tau Ceti Overseer manageable to be used in Iray even on older/slower machines.
3DELIGHT displacement is not geometry-density based, so it will render very well even with no subdivision without the "added-Normal maps" trick.
