Looking for a gothic dress...
I'm looking for a typical gothic dress model (see pictures attached), but somehow the search machines of DAZ and Renderosity don't really help. Has anyone seen a dress similar to those pictures? Doesn't have to be an exact replica, but preferably with a front closed (so not just a feather-kind back, like here: http://www.runtimedna.com/Rockabilly-Burlesque-for-V4.html) and at least reaching till knees length. Colors don't matter, I'll apply shaders anyway. Any model generation will do (from Victoria 4 till Genesis 3 Female).
Converting a V5 UV Based Texture Set to a Genesis 2 Base Female UV Texture Set? [SOLVED]Hi I was wondering if it is possible to convert a character texture set that was created using a Victoria 5 UV to a Genesis 2 Base Female UV? The reason I ask is I recently purchased http://www.daz3d.com/extreme-closeup-makeup-for-genesis-2-female-s hoping it would help in what I was working on and not reading the description throughly I discover that the product is based on the Genesis 2 Base Female UV. Which is unfortunate as a fair few of the Genesis 2 Female characters I have use the Victoria 5 UV for the textures and so not sure what to do.. Any help please would be greatly appreciated thank you.
4 Series ModelsI don't know if you are still about or have made a purchase yet, but I strongly recommend to anyone considering purchasing either character, or both, to also purchase the Morphs++ packages for each. They are almost indispensable for these figures. If you are willing to invest the extra money, please note that the best way to get both the figures and their Morphs++ packages, is by buying their respective Starter Bundles:
http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-complete
http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-complete
You will get both the base figures, the Morphs++ packages that way, plus a few other goodies, and it will cost less than it would to purchase the base figures and the Morphs++ packages separately.
Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.0.24!Sorry for the triple post but can't add images during edit.
I've added 3DL renders of her with her Iray and 3DL mats which showed up something weird. Never seen it before. Again using default mats etc. no settings changed. The maps all appear to be in their correct places in the surfaces tab for a typical Iray setup.
Tried reloading, same thing. Tried loading Victoria 7, same thing again. Only the face renders when you use Iray default mats in 3DL, then interactive gives you the zombie but photoreal is redder. Arabella does the same thing. Don't have any other Gen3 Daz default characters to test with.
I don't seem to own any Gen2 characters that come with Iray mats, so I tested with G2F and her Daz supplied Iray conversation, and that worked perfectly with both renderers.
Moved onto third party characters, and tested FWSA Jade HD for Josie 7. This one screws up too, but the Iray Mats in 3DL render gave a different result (image 3.) in Iray renderer she has the same photoreal perfectly fine, interactive would-eat-vampire-arabella-for-breakfast look.
Is this all from that SSS change to Iray? The last one almost looks like a UV map issue, but then no issue shows in texture draw mode, or her oddly coloured Iray renders. Her 3DL mats fit and render fine.
Not sure if you need any other information or if I just did something incredibly wrong, but I'm using an install of the beta downloaded today, win 10, nvidia 580gtx classified.
Edit: Just tested in 4.8, same figures, same database, both renderers render both sets of mats perfectly fine.
Edit edit: changing the sss tint from light blue to light orange fixes the interactive iray render, but then breaks the photoreal one by making that too red. 3dl renders of the same iray mats adjusted still only renders the face and nothing else. Still only happening on G3 figures so far as I can tell.
Victoria 7 vs HDI just bought the HD add on for Victoria 7 and I tried to do a comparison render but I don't see a difference. I loaded V7 as one model and then loaded V7HD as a second model, put them close together, zoomed way in and did a test render. They look the same. Are there any other steps (parameters or settings) I should be doing? Thanks in advance.
Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.0.24!You can still minimise the shop now to go to the info tab instead just fine. The shop won't connect or load when it isn't actually open displaying content.
But yeah, Smart Content is pretty much useless for anyone who actually knows about what all the file types do and own multiple generations, etc. It was nice the first day or two I used the program. Getting Connect only content from Smart Content into categories was annoying enough that I gave up, and Products listings don't have the folders organising things anymore so that sucks too. As I stated above, just add a new base level Content Library folder above Daz formats called Daz Connect and give us the files and folders there, or even better, auto generate purchases into categories there that we can rearrange as we like.
I can't really compare to Poser's CP because I thought that was a load of junk when I tested Poser and I thought the site was too. All that happened was that it led me to searching for these mysterious Daz figures like Victoria which were said to be the best, and that was that. I actually like Daz's web store, despite them taking away an option for light and dark layouts everywhere :/ The program store is at least dark, but built for tiny tiny ants who only make single impulse buys, as stated above.
Obviously I expect all of this will change since it's the first implementation of the store, but first impressions are important for many people, and those who think it's useless now might not notice when (if) it's made great.
Arabella 7I don't get it. How is she any different from the other G3 females we've seen so far? Looks pretty much identical to me. Does anyone have a side-by-side comparison with, say, Victoria 7 please?
Vyria looks quite nice though. Can always trust Silver to produce good looking females. Looks like no gens mats though, so not a complete character in my books - shame
.All my girls at Daz (unless its a Teen or something where it doesnt fit ex. zombie, fantasy creature, etc) come with genitals. It should be listed.
Ah, thanks for putting me straight Silver. Its not listed on the product page and the readme wasn't in the docs center yet when I checked, so had to make an assumption. That does put an new complexion on things then because, whilst I'm not that interested in Arabella 7, I am very interested indeed in Vyria. You (Silver) are excellent at creating pretty females.
It says shes based off the base G3F UV, so I assume that Arabella 7 isn't actually essential then? Do you have an image of what she looks like without the Arabella morphs dialled in please?
Edit: Zombies need love too!

Here is a quicky of Vyria without the Arabella dialed in, Vyria uses Arabella at 50%. I think the Arabella is what makes her face personally but its not bad without :)
What hair did you use in this render?
How to Save Charecters as Presets (like you can in Bryce)Love that picture. I had a similar question about saving a preset character. If I open a "stock" character like Victoria 7 and make adjustments to skin Mat, body type, breast shape, or whatever, I can then save her as a Character Preset and use her in any future scene. But what I am having trouble with is having the hair follow over to the preset. If I load hair and then save the character preset, the hair disappears when I open the preset. Only a bald character loads, and then I have reoad the hair, apply color, etc.
Is there a way to load a character preset and save the hair?
The We Are All Prime Numbers Complaint ThreadMorning. First flooding rain this year making mini lakes from footpaths and basements and freeways still falling an hour or so after the sun rose and straightaway vanished into lead-grey overcast :)

November 2015 New User Contest "Materials" (WIP-THREAD)You don't need Victoria just the MilGirls model. What you do get is all of the free or paid for textures and poses for Victoria you have or can find will also work with this little girl. Even the M2 poses will work. I am using the Bishonen for Michael 2.0 pose for her in the example.
Great! Thanks, DollyGirl!
I will work on getting these pieces together tomorrow. Getting kinda late here and I have an early call...

November 2015 New User Contest "Materials" (WIP-THREAD)hmmm...the Milennium Girls model says it's compatible with Victoria 1 or 2.
What are the options if I don't have Victoria 1 or 2?
Teen Josie 7 SDI was trying to figure out how to tell who made which character, and I swear I've seen tags on some of the files before (Josie was attributed to Thorne? And there were some others but I forget who did what exactly) but now I can't for the life of me find it again.
Oh well, poor Josie. At least if Growing Up 3 is ever made, we can turn Victoria and co into HD teens alongside their supertall adult counterparts, right? Right? Please? D:
Or use it to help make them more normal adults. :)
Right? One of the best things about Josie is that she's the average adult female height, rather than competing with the others for a spot on the basketball team.
I wonder if Victoria 8 will break 6 feet...

Ideally I prefer seperate slider for head and body with HD; a head shot doesn't need all the body, and I'm sure I read somewhere that HD adds to IRAY (and other) render times?

UV FOR G3
I dont get it why is male gen texture such a big deal. Why even make male gens in the first place? Every figure should come with male gen instead of in a bundle. Its insulting that figures are not anatomically correct to start. Its michael's David all over again. No it will not/cannot happen.
.............O....................K............
So i have to wait for skin builder for g3f.
I STILL NEED THE SKINBUILDER AD ON FOR G1 AND G2 MALE GEN!!!!!!
There is a long thread on how to manually bake the textures...the problem with it is that it does require a fair amount of active intervention on the part of the user, so it is not something that can be automated.

Got to be 110% honesti have no idea what baking is and the last time i asked i was told it was for games. So in short i have no chance of baking and even if i did still wouldnt sovle the gen problem.Well, then again, Daz was never really all that big on genitalia support beyond geographing, anyway. Anything after the Generation's Victoria & Michael launches is all on the PAs who care enough to provide.
Mixed Asian Character G3FHello and welcome to DAZ!

Your character is cute, but to be honest, I don't think she looks japanese/asian. I'm a newbie myself and have found it can be tricky to get that specific look I want when starting to fiddle with the morph sliders. It can be easier to start with a preset morph that is similar to what you want to achieve and go on from there. For asians, I think there's three morphs/characters available for G3F in the DAZ shop: http://www.daz3d.com/chiyo-for-victoria-7 , http://www.daz3d.com/ej-atsuko-for-genesis-3-female-s and http://www.daz3d.com/natsumi-for-genesis-3-female and I can recommend them all. There might be others out there on other sites too.
Good luck with your morphing and it will be interesting to see what you come up with in the future.

Teen Josie 7 SDNot sure but not all the genesis 2 characters got hd if I remember correctly
No, they didn't, I checked. Quite a few of the Gen2s don't have one, I assume because anime characters don't need one and the other ones apart from Victoria were newer (and Victoria stays relevant forever so she makes sense getting one.) But every single one of the other Genesis 3 characters have one.
