If I made one pJCM could I make it only appear on a certain character?
A pJCM will be always on a Genesis figure as long as you save it as morph asset. But its activation can be subject to a character's FHM / FBM that you set on its 2nd Stage controllers.
For instance, if you set Victoria 8's FBM on a pJCM's 2nd Stage controllers. This pJCM can only be triggered when there's a non-zero value on Victoria 8's FBM dial. So, it's an exclusive pJCM to V8.
A question: differences between Characters HD or not HD?Elor said:
I have a question (and I don't really have the computer to do a fast render and check myself
): what happens if I apply HD morph to a different character ? As an example, applying Victoria 9 HD to a Genesis 9 figure with only Base Feminine morph applied, not Victoria 9.Technically there'll be no prorblem if you do so. Just like blending head morphs / body morphs, HD morphs also could be blended as they'll just show HD details rather than 'head / body shapes'. Then properly set Render SubD Level accordingly.

All of your comment was really helpful for me. I think my pc start to suffer at subD 5, because i don't have problems with Victoria HD. Anyway It's a rarity for me use a close up, then I will follow for my project your advices.
Thank You for your time and best regards.

Thank You. Then, if i understand, HD is good for portraits or closeup. but, how much this affect the time of rendering? What the difference in time between HD and not HD? It worth use for all of my rendering Victoria HD instead of Victoria normal map? I did two test: rendering Minerva (Raw, no hair, genitalia or clothes) and she took less than 2 minutes, while Minerva HD tooks 25 minutes. Zack 9 (with hair and beard and genitalia, no clothes) tooks 20 minutes, and Zack HD with veins took 75 minutes. All rendering is UHD (2160 px). This happens only to me or is the rule? I have a 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11300H @ 3.10GHz 3.11 GHz, 16 GB RAM and a Win 11 Home system and a GeForce RTX 3050.
I would like to create a story with this chara, and i like the best quality, but i'm scared by the risk of infinity rendering

Thank you again
Something is not right here, if your initial render took 2 minutes an HD subd 4/5 model might add on a few minutes but certainly not 20 and 70+ minutes. It sounds like you're running out of vram and iray is dropping back to using your CPU instead of your GPU.

as you can see by the examples from crosswind, your camera needs to be rather close, so it's usually only one character in a render, max two if they are very close. If those are the things you want to do the HD is the right thign for you.
For me who it mostly doing shots with several characters in action for my comic (and not the toony version) the HD would be lost in the distance in most cases, so I try to avoid the HD most of the time. As well I prefer the details of the skin surface to be implemented with a normal map rather than a HD morph, which is much more render friendly, esp when more chearacter are in one scene, the average computer might get some heart palpitations from the HD morphs.

3D Comic Book Tips And PicturesI just wanted to sound off, say "Hi" and share what I have been working on.
Coming from a comic art background when I was younger, life got in the way and I more or less lost my skills at drawing over the years. I got into Daz around the time of Victoria 4 but went away a bit after Genesis came out. I am back and have been working on a graphic novel I hope to release next year.
This is a "test cover" or maybe just a promo poster for the work. I am about 15 pages into the work and will post more soon.
The work is rendered out then run through a few filters (Filter Forge) and then about 70% or so of the art is "re-inked" inside of Procreate on an iPad with an Apple Pencil.
A question: differences between Characters HD or not HD?In other words, Published Artists sculpt the character with multi-resolution level of subdivision mesh ( normally 1 - 5 ). In general, the higher resolution level that an HD morph has, the more details there's gonna be on that character. But the render result still depends on various factors....
The HD data is stored in *.dhdm files (encryted Daz High Definition Morph files in data folder) marked with HD level (HD1 to HD5). As above mentioned, if there's no dhdm files in a 'HD character product', that'll be a 'fake HD...'. And Render SubD Level property needs to be in line with HD level (e.g. Render 5 -> HD5), then you can get full HD effect from the render.
As for Victoria 9, she's with HD4+ Render Level 4, so it's easy to see the difference in b/t HD and non-HD ... as below, plus another HD5 example.
A question: differences between Characters HD or not HD?Hello. Buying some pro bundles i've Characters in two version: Hd or not HD. For exemple: Victoria 9 and Victoria 9 HD. Same story for Minerva or Kala 9.
I did not understand the differences between the two versions, because It seem they have the same resolution, then where is the difference? It influence the rendering or not? Which of them is better?
Thank you and sorry if the question seems stupid.

During the process its dialed in.
After the process if i dial it out/in on the new G8 the changes are minimal.
Yes could be that its not coverted correct.
Maybe delete the Victoria 7 morph and try to convert Victoria 7 to get a new morph?
Can someone help sort my brain about the Generations?...just because there're Genesis and Victoria... I ever made a slide to Genesis 8.1, For your ref.
Can someone help sort my brain about the Generations?Hello. I've been away awhile, so I have a few questions reguarding the lineage(?) of Daz characters. When I was here, Genesis was still kinda new. There was Genesis, then Genesis 2 and I think Genesis 3. But I don't remember some things.
1st... Were V4and M4 clothes and textures compatible with Genesis 1? I just don't remember...
Were Genesis' future generations backards compatible with previous versions?
And I'm a little lost about the progression of generations. So, there was Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 and Genesis 3...
Is there a Genesis 4, 5, 6, or 7?
I have Victoria and Michael 5. Which Genesis do they belong to?
I have Stephanie 5 and 6... And who do they belong to?
And I have Giavani 7... Which one is that?
I have Victoria 8, but not 6 or 7
Please help... I'm a little confused. Thanks
Can you put anatomy on characters that don't come with anatomical elements mats?Yeah it's named "for Victoria 8", but works with all Genesis 8 females
Can you put anatomy on characters that don't come with anatomical elements mats?Thank you for the responses.
As far as I can tell the "New Gens" are on Renderotica under "New Gens for Victoria 8", though if I am reading correctly they are compatible with most if not all other g8F figures.
I've heard of Golden Palace, I might look into it. I've had decent luck with the default gens + the Lex Kineses (sp?) morphs but it looks like GP might offer some additional creative freedom.

The char has three sliders.
Sloane Body (Only the body dials in)
Sloane Head (Only the head dials in)
VYK_Sloane (Its the body but if oyu dial in the sloane Head dials in too.)
So i think the Head is the important thing. The file is called "Sloane Head.dsf" But i have checked the files and i don't think a morph is missing. But the curiousity is if i dial out the victoria 7 on the original Genesis 3 they look similiar (error2)
The left in error 1 is the original Sloane.
Its crazy.
That makes it sound like the converted Victoria 7 morph is not dialed in or converted incorrectly?
Render your buys! Use buys from the current month and the previous month of salesMost recent one with products bought during this sales (the terrain, the clothes and the mooki
).‘Come back here, Victoria!’
‘I don’t need a chaperon, Victoria!’
‘Yes, you do! You’re only one year old.’
‘Why does being almost three gave you the right to be mine?’

The discount from Dain Pro bundle is 50% off because you bought a new item, not because it was in the Genesis 9 bundles for buying Death. If you get one of those, they end up at 90% without tokens. Sadly the selection is very small and the 1/2 page is filled with mostly Victoria and Michael bundles. And debut new or recently new give you an EXTRA 50% OFF* any Non-new Release. Still, nice set of items you got at 82% Off. :)
Ah well, I'm happy enough. The problem is with bundles that if I liked them enough I bought them when they came out. Otherwise by the time they have a steep sales like this I already picked up the pieces I wanted, and the rest would just be clutter.
For me there is two problems with those bundles, first they don't stack with other offers and second, one doesn't get any additional discount for items already owned.
