All my genesis 2 doesn't work?
yea been doing that. I did however figure ou tthat something went wrong and I uninstalled the genesis 2 female starter essentials from the conetent libraby and reinstalled it. it works now.
However now the my victoria 4.2 base doesnt show as it is installed, therefore my Aiko wont load either because of this. And I just noticed in the store that the same bundle I paid $50 for yesturday is only $20 today :(
Now i cant figure out why my victoria wont work and I cant even use the bundle until then.
For some reason I also had Genesis 3 Female that wouldn't install and then finally did...

All my genesis 2 doesn't work?I recently updated to 4.9. Until recently I had been dealing with genesis 3 and love them, but decided to start working with toon styles, and decided I would go with the Aiko 4 pro bundle, so i bought it, installed it. But I have no actual files in my program. I tryed uninstalling and reinstalling the genesis 2 starter essentials, and nothing works. In my conent library all of the bundle inscuding my genesis 2 figure, victoria 4.2, and everything from the aiko bundle just show up as the outlines triangle error. and everything just says file does not exist.
Anyone knowhow to fix this? I tryed the maintain db trick and nothing seems to work.
ZDG random Daz Studio discoveries and questions.Sorry MJC1016 for that brief outburst of frustration with Daz.
wow. I just used the G3F straight from the smart tab and didn't bother with any of the adjustment or actor dials when making the G3F OBJ test file. so just the default G3F, and the 'Base' resolution one, only appeared to have millimeter offset differences. An outfit sitting at silk thickness away from the figure and with smoothing on shouldn't have issues at that miniscule offset. However, when actually turning a mesh into a wearable item, that is honestly so far beyond me. About all I grasp from the rest of that, is that something somewhere is 'compounding' into a bigger problem.
Oh, if the Mouth realism and the Navel dials are changing the shape of the breasts and hips, then that is another big issue on G3F, lol. I can comprehend if the Navel thing causes and outfit made for it off, becoming a rather pointy issue, or a cannon ball hole. I guess whatever is used, at the end of the day, the outfit needs to fit G3F as she is loaded from the smart tab without any adjustments or extra dials. In other words, an outfit made to fit Victoria 7 in a modeling program, just is not going to work on G3F in Studio, lol.
Dog Food. The first batch of Reflection strength tests on the Daz Default shader. Aside from the 0% strength setting, there was not a significant amount of difference vs reflection strength. I'll run some further tests on Omni and AoA after some rest. (Face hits keyboard in exhaustion, lol). Zzzzz.
Victoria 5 Invisible in PoserDo you have the Genesis Starter Essentials installed, to the same content directory as Victoria 5?
Victoria 5 Invisible in PoserI had both V5 and V6. I had also DSON installed. V5 and V6 is installed in My Library and the added in Poser.
It works fine with V6 but V5 are just invisible ( it is loaded ). strange that V6 that is Genesis 2 work but not V5 that are genesis 1.
I had the same problem both in Poser 10 and Poser Pro 11.
Anyone thar can help here?
Alan
V4 support folder cannot be found (two DAZ software, two different issue)I understand your point but I'm posting this problem since it only happened literally since today... and once again; Beta 4.8 has no problem at all loading V4.2
D:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZ 3D\Studio3\content\Runtime\libraries\Character\DAZ People\Victoria 4.2.cr2
V4 support folder cannot be found (two DAZ software, two different issue)What is the exact path to the Victoria 4.2.cr2?
Putting content under Program Files/Program Files (x86) is dangerous -- it was fine under XP but Windows versions since then protect those folders.
V4 support folder cannot be found (two DAZ software, two different issue)I'm running into issue that just begun today.
I have two different DAZ3D version, current stable 4.9 and beta 4.8 that is just there because I haven't deleted.
Stable DAZ version can't load Victoria 4 with PowerLoader saying it can't find a support folder,
While Beta DAZ 4.8 loads like it used toBoth version points to same DAZ Content/Poser Runtime folder, so I'm out of idea why one can find support folder while the other doesn't.
Is there anyone can help me in this issue? Or should I just use Beta 4.8 for now?
ThanksInspired by Muchamjc1016, agreed. Currently this is just a completely unmodified Victoria 6. Pondering if I should redo these with V7 or G3F or just add G2F as a "fallback." Conversations on other threads seem to say that Victoria-based products sell better than straight Genesis 2 or 3 based things. Thoughts?Genesis/Genesis 2 Textures on Genesis 3Of the two solutions, I prefer the Blacksmith3D/Texture Transformer solution -- it's a touch more work but the result is a really nicely rendered skin that's actually optimized for G3F UVs. The biggest downside is you really need to do all your makeup and other adjustments on your V4 'donor' without having the flexibility of pure solutions. (In fact, I've been buying some of the G3F standalone makeup sets purely so I can get more of that functionality and flexibility back.)
The G2F UV set works like a charm, and because you're actually using proper G2F UVs you can go ahead and tweak things to your heart's content. However, because it has 'wearables' that are replacing the chunks of the UV space that G3F lacks, you're ultimately complicating your G3F models to use it. Also, there's some issues with mixing and matching G3F addons (which expect G3F UVs) and this product. I'm also always a bit nervous when I'm trying to use a skin/model optimized for a different UV set. Victoria 6 content actually seems to do okay, but there's a lot of other UVs out there that this won't be as useful for.
So. As said above -- I like Texture Transformer more -- it's more setup and less convenient if you're playing with multiple eyeshadows or the like, but the resulting materials are actually G3F materials. I'm hoping Blacksmith3D comes out with a plugin for Genesis and Genesis 2 soon.
(I remember when I predicted that someone or someones would come up with a solution to let people use skins/materials from earlier generations with G3F. I was called mad -- mad I tell you! But... honestly, I always bet on the cleverness of people. And in the meantime, now I have all this Sabby and Silver content that can be applied to G3F....)

More than enough links...they check out (and some more that freebies I don't have...)
Runtime DNA Merges With Daz 3DRegarding 'dark themes'... Daz store has LOADS of fairly dark stuff.
Consider:
http://www.daz3d.com/jane-d-o-a
http://www.daz3d.com/severed-man
http://www.daz3d.com/zombie-walker
http://www.daz3d.com/terror-eyes-for-genesis-2
Plus lots of demons, werewolves, distorted aliens, plantmen, ratpeople, all sorts of wacky stuff.
Yeah I found this whole talk of "dark themes" confusing too. I mean Daz doesn't like to use certain words or allow nudity in promos but there's no shortage of creepy horror evil figures or ridiculously skimpy outfits for Victoria
and then there's http://www.daz3d.com/taurette-for-genesis-2-female-hd
RawArt is unrivalled in so many ways.
I agree, plenty of stuff on the dark side here, look at http://www.daz3d.com/severed-man, the promos don't come much more horror themed than these
The issue isn't dark but style of dark...I posted links to some of the stuff I liked at RDNA -- I got my creepy stuff there because most of the DAZ creepy stuff leaned towards traditional fare, werewolves, vampires, demons, shapeshifters. Amost all all the creatures I have acquired in the past few years have come from there, and this after coming to DAZ first to see if they had what I wanted. It's kinda like this: I look for Gucci pants and someone says, hey, go to walmart "They have pants there too..." yes, but you want a certain style of pant. That's the concern. It's a quibble but not an illegitimate one.

Rhys for Genesis 3 Male - WHOA Saiyaness!!!!Hi! Thank you for the nice comments! I definitely have plans for dirty, gritty characters in the future, with the odd pretty girl thrown in - gotta have them!
Hello
I'm looking forward for more odd, weird and gritty and still pretty characters. Sure, Flawless Victoria can be nice but it's quickly boring, soulless ;)

Mei Lin 7 announcedLilith 6 didn't require a counterpart. The only things about her which seemed customised for an 'evil' character were some of the cosmetic options (which you could obtain for any character through other products). Lilith worked just as well as a good-natured fairy, astronaut, priestess or whatever else you might want. Just as you could put Victoria (or the basic G2F figure) in 'evil'-looking cosmetics/hair/clothing and have them stand in perfectly well for that part. Never be fooled by the promotional art hype! :)
Arabella 7 was more of a deliberately vampish/gothic look, in terms of shape. But even then, she also works just as well as virtually anything. However, there is a very pale skin product made specifically for her, which defniitely helps with vampire-related art.
The only figures for which a reasonable argument could be made in requiring a counterpart of the opposing gender, are when the character is stylised or of a certain ethnicity (or, in some cases, creatures), because then you need something specific for when you want to populate a scene with multiple different characters of that type (which is also why assymmetrical skin blemishes can make me avoid a purchase, as I wouldn't be able to use the same skin for multiple different characters, such as family relations).
