New Window. I am waiting til I get 16 GB RAM to try bigger renders. I am wanting to see how the size of a render affects the effectiveness of the Genesis 3 default surfaces for things like the Victoria 7 materials presets for example as I am still learning DAZ Studio.
When Jayden/Brodie 7?Neither Jayden nor Brodie sold well in the last generation, so we won't be making them in Generation 7. There are are some new and really, really different male characters coming up this year though. I think Ivan and Lucian will really surprise you.
That's disappointing. I thought Brodie was a really well made figure myself, so of all the male teens it should sell the best. If nothing else this goes to show that what people ask for isn't necessarily something that translates into sales. You guys must have it really hard deciding where to invest your time.
I agree, it'd be horrible Ivan and Lucian weren't male teens (and even worst monters or something like that). Daz, I think you have to listen what your purchasers want and not what you want, because it's clear you prefer female figures, in short time, I'll call this site "The female Daz Studio store" because of every 5 new figures you create, 4 are female figures. Please Daz, once more time I request you: Reconsider to come back the male teens in your Gen 7 and stop creating more female figures, at least for a time, believe me, you have enough in your store now.
Considering what the purchasers want is exactly what Daz is doing here - though Steve has said they may look again at douing a male teen. As for the proportions, I think since the Genesis 3 Male was released it's been more like four males for every fiver females, still a bias but not as dramatic.

Since the release of Genesis 3 Male in November, there has been a male released every month, except for March when there wasn't one.
Seriously, the ratio of male and female releases is coming along way better than last generation (you could also perhaps argue that Scott 6 was meant to pair Karen 7 as weird as that seems.)
When Jayden/Brodie 7?One missed opportunity that Daz has done before but not repeated in a while is bundles that have a paired male and female. For Generation 5 we had http://www.daz3d.com/base-young-teens (plus a Starter and Pro bundle) and http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-michael-victoria-combo-bundle . The one for the teens benefited from the two being released together and the Mike/Vicky bundle was very "complete" in that it had the morphs and acted as a Pro bundle so it came with the Anotomical Elements. It's actually what I think the main figure bundle should be for a generation.
I feel like this has been a missed opportunity too. The YT5 bundle was great (and the MV5 bundle would have been if I hadn't gotten them from Carrara) but there's been nothing like that for forever. A few PAs did similar things (Sadie+Sam for example) but it seems as though since then all things have been female and a few token males that often don't really fit the females.
Thorne has made pretty much all the teens, ever, right? (Still actively making them I believe, as well as resource morph kits, but that's about it?)
MallenLane made Hitomi and Hiro (if they'd been sold as a pair promotion of some sort I bet that'd have gone better too.) (Doesn't seem to have released anything since Gen1 really.)
I don't know who made Keiko but I liked the style and was sad there was no male companion directly made to go with her.
In my opinion, unless the DAZ Original characters are intended to be siblings, they shouldn't look too much alike beyond having a similar skin tone and such.
I agree with that, but it depends on what's meant by "alike."
When you're talking about stylised characters such as anime it really matters if the characters are two different styles (it gives the impression not of 'not being siblings' but rather 'drawn by completely different people.')
In the case of the teens, I've seen many complain that they don't like the way Thorne's characters look as being big eyed semi anime style things. Personally I like their look but you can see how people would think that wouldn't suit being in the same scene as Victoria, etc. because it's a different art style (to some at least, but mostly it only really matters for stylised characters.)
No-Suit morphs for V4?I must be sleep deprived, because I should know the answer to this. I'm looking for "No-Suit" morphs for V4. That is, a set of morphs that will:
- Hide fingernails
- Add ridges on the forearms to simulate gloves
- Fill in the gap between the breasts to make it look like she's wearing a shirt
- Add a ridge around the neck to simulate the edge of the shirt collar
I've used these features in V3 recently, but for the life of me I can't remember where to find them for Victoria 4.

Did MallenLane make those? I thought each Genesis figure was just based on a 'not elite' version of the previous Michael and Victoria. I'm a bit hazy when it comes to official creators for those types of official things though.
MallenLane created all DAZ base meshes since V4/M4, as well as every version of Aiko and Hiro. And probably some of the other DAZ character bases too.
That's interesting. Seems odd that the same person created Aiko5, Hiro5 and Hitomi but then stuck Aiko and Hiro5 together.
He created the character as Hitomi's counterpart, DAZ decided to rebrand him as Hiro 5.
Looking in the files, Aiko 6, Keiko 6, and V7 are credited to Yannek, though maybe that's just the texture?
I might be wrong for Aiko 6. I'm sure he created Aiko versions 3, 4 and 5, though.
How do you guys know who did the meshes? Not doubting just haven't happened to hear that sort of information bouncing around.
Mallen (I guess their real name is michael) has said so himself, and has apparently done all the meshes since victoria 3.

That wouldn't surprise me. It seems like the sort of decision made by someone who doesn't actually understand the content would make, and I find it a stretch to beleive he wouldn't know very well.
Maybe Yannek made the textures and he did the mesh (no idea either way but that would explain the crediting on the texture files being different.)

As Leana said, MallenLane (Michael Lane) made all the Genesis base meshes, but I am not sure if he was involved with V7 or other base morphs (other than Aiko 5 and Hiro 5). We can perhaps assume he is busy with Genesis 4 right now.
I would hope he isn't too busy with Genesis 4... character models are so far ahead of their other elements already. Unless they're going to stick with the same clothing and hair systems until Genesis 4 but I feel like they want to put a bit more into Genisis 3 than that? who knows.

When Jayden/Brodie 7?I'd say Stephanie is completely unnescessary (unless she's a character of color) since we got Eva, although she is the slim/tall instead of slim/short.
I would love to see David though : )
Be that as it may, Stephanie appears every generation, so she clearly sells well enough to keep going. Though, I also personally think that DAZ also keeps her around because she's always been the 3rd wheel behind Vicky & Mike. It's like I keep saying, no matter what the numbers bring, Victoria, Michael, Stephanie, and Aiko always remain a strong quartette, as they have since Gen 2.

Michael 4 for Genesis 2 male OR V4 for G2Female How to use?The V4 to G2F works in an identical way (enough so that I wondered if SloshWerks may have PA aliases for different product lines as many businesses do).
If the v4 to G2F product you mean is this one, http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female , it is made by MallenLane who is Daz Staff and not a pen name for Slosh.
Yes, That one. The ad write up is nearly the same.
Well, if you're going to go by that, you're going to suspect that of a lot more PAs and would be incorrect. :) They're similar products; not many write more than a straight out description to a bit of embellishment and sometimes people refer to what other people have written for a guide. So I wouldn't read much into these things, no pun.
?
No puns, there was nothing else to go by. With the saved effort from writing original ad copy perhaps a bit more effort can be made on product documentation? I hope the OP's questions were answered though as the documentation is often severely lacking. As the V4 to G2F documentation it is still on my wishlist list I couldn't direct him any of the documentation for that product as I did the other product. You're welcome too direct the OP there though.

Why is Victoria 4.2 Not Opening in Nude Form"I assume this is something relatively simple"
Actually, no, it is not. If you simply want to change the texture once the base figure has loaded, that is fairly simple and is what most people will do, and what the others responding are suggesting.
If, on the other hand, you simply must have the figure load with something other than the default texture (with the fake bikini), that is possible, but not exactly easy. What you would need to do is edit the file that loads V4: Victoria 4.2.cr2. That is the file that instructs DAZ Studio to load V4 with the default purple bikini texture. It is found in YourContentFolder\runtime\libraries\Character\DAZ People\. If you wished V4 to open automatically with the plain (non-bikini) texture that comes with the model as Fixmypcmike suggested, you must open the .cr2 in a text editor and change the references to two texture maps: the one for the torso and the one for the face. These entries appear in the file as Runtime:textures:DAZ:Characters:MilWom:V4:V4SmplTorsoM_BKN.jpg and Runtime:textures:DAZ:Characters:MilWom:V4:V4SmplFaceM_BKN.jpg. All references within the .cr2 file to either of these must be changed to Runtime:textures:DAZ:Characters:MilWom:V4:V4SmplTorsoM_NG.jpg and Runtime:textures:DAZ:Characters:MilWom:V4:V4SmplFaceM.jpg, respectively. There are multiple references to both within the file that need to be changed.
However, I would suggest that you not bother. You are only going to end up with a plain V4 texture anyway, with a flesh tone in place of the bikini (no nipples, etc.). For full nude details, you'll need a more detailed set of texture maps, with many available both free and for purchase. If you wanted one of those to load automtically with V4, that is even more complicated, since you would need to replace not just the two texture maps I mentioned, but all of them (eyes, limbs, etc.) and probably add to that any special maps that the better texture probably comes with like bump maps, specular maps, normal maps, etc.. So in the end, you may just wish to do what the rest of us do and load your preferred texture after the base model has loaded. It doesn't take much time or effort, really.
