How do you organise your content?
I install everything manually. Here's a breakdown of my process:
1. Download content to a central Downloads folder, into an assigned sub-folder for maintaining backups
2. Copy zipped content to a Test folder and re-organize as desired, removing all vendor vanity folders
3. Move re-organnized content to main Library and happy rendering
Feel Totally Noob - How do I Download DIM?Daz Central is made much easier to find, I think, to try to avoid new users finding Install Manager and being daunted. However, there is a direct link on every Product Library page for a product that can be installed through DIM.
How to remove product that thinks it still needs installing? The problem is that you are logging in to DAZ Studio and the round circle and suggestion to install, comes from the products not being installed with DAZ Connect inside DAZ Studio.
Logging in to DAZ Studio is only needed if one wants to install products with DAZ Connect - DAZ Connect uses a different path to install content, so if one has already installed the content with DAZ Central/DAZ Install Manager/Manual installation, the content will be installed twice, taking twice the space.
If you do not want to use DAZ Connect inside DAZ Studio to install your content, set your startup options as in the attachment
Feel Totally Noob - How do I Download DIM?New PC, looking to clean install DIM but can't find the downloader. All links seem to point to DAZ Central, which I'm avoiding like the plague. Where is the DIM link, please?
OFFICIAL DazToCinema4D Bridge 2022 (SEPTEMBER UPDATE): What's New and How To Use ItHello Daniel, I've tried every option installing but I'm not getting the export to Cinema 4d option in Daz.
I've tried installing through Daz Central and Manually. It installs on my laptop fine.
Maybe it's not installing to the right plugins folder. Can you or anyone steer me in the right direction?
Oh, Misty, I forgot my Complaint ThreadJust a quick post to advise of a "treasure for tuppence" at NewEgg. A while ago, I talked about my wonderful Dyson vacuum cleaner that sucked gobs of crap out of my carpets everytime I use it. Love it! KK was looking at Dyson stick vacuums but the price was too high. Well, not today. Same price as I got my Dyson "V7 Motorhead" for. ($200 instead of $300 or $400). This is about as low as they go. So if anyone is interested in a "Dyson V8 Motorhead", here's the link.
I can't guarantee that it's perfect for everyone, and it's refurbished but is shipped directly from Dyson, so it's probably not a scam. And is worthy of consideration for someone with small vacuuming needs.

The "V8" differs from the "V7" by the motor design. It may be a little beefier than the V7 but the V8 also has a HEPA filter (the blue cannister at the back end of the motor) in addition to the vorticies and the central foam filter. And yes, you need to replace the central foam filter after it's been cleaned too many times. (they're not expensive and last quite a while), but I don't know about the HEPA filter, my V7 doesn't have one. Another thing to watch out for with the motorized head, is to periodically remove the rotating brushes and clean out the ducts to keep them clear of debris build up. It's super simple. Just use a large coin to twist the slot on one end of the motorhead. The first time I discovered that was when the motor started pulsating slow then fast. I thought my wonderful vacuum was kaput.
But it's a feature, designed to let you know it's getting hard to suck.
Oh, god! I'm blathering again.
Back to lurking.
Duplicate formulas & Files not found with 'Big Expressive 8.1 for Genesis 8.1 Male'Ok, in that case the first problem is that you are logging in to DAZ Studio and some of your content has been installed twice, once with DAZ Central/DIM/Manual installation and the second time with DAZ Connect within DAZ Studio (in 'Smart' Content)
Duplicate formulas & Files not found with 'Big Expressive 8.1 for Genesis 8.1 Male'Recently, I reinstalled Daz Studio from scratch and installed my content via DazCentral. Daz Central and my iMac 2017 are not a good combination; DC 'hangs' all the time. So sometimes I use DAZ3DIM installation manager.
Some content from other sources I installed manually.Everything worked fine until I installed 'Big Expressive 8.1 for Genesis 8.1 Male'

lol Yeah, he's kind of meant to be an "average joe" or "guy next door". I'll try and let you know when I update the series. It might be a while as it looks like we're not able to edit or update our entries until the Call to Action contest is over.Griffin Avid said:Oh no, the aliens are PLENTY STRONG. A question about Daz Central and product updatesHello,
Does Daz Central keep track of when there are product updates? I have used Daz Central to install most of the products I have purchased over the past few years and I don't recall ever getting any kind of notice that a product has been updated. Also, if there is a product update and Daz Central doesn't 'see' it, what is the best way to install the update?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Duplicate InstallsI have duplicate installs, two of each, DIM and DAZ Central, date of installs are different (2021 and 2022). I have no idea why there are two installs, certainly not intentional.
I have DAZ Central installed and all my updates are done with that, but I also have DIM installed, can these co-exist without any issues?
The above two installs (as explained) was not intentional. I have not experienced any crashes, system runs stable but this could be what is causing another issue (Daz to Blender Bridge, after three weeks and still not resolved).
DAZ Studio and content are all installed on the D:/drive, which is a much larger SSD drive. But 'traces' of DAZ got installed (unintentionally) on the C:/drive, which means it's possible other files such as plugins/addons paths, and 'traces' are installed on the C:/drive. For example, I would usually install addons/plugins on the D:/drive but some traces got installed on the C:/drive located in C:\Users\[myname]\Documents\DAZ 3D\ and also in C:\Users\[myname]\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\I can see DAZ points library content to the D:\drive, which is exactly where I want it.

I might uninstall all of DAZ including the DAZCentral and DIM, then use a decent registry cleaner (suggestions?), reboot and reinstall everything from stratch on the D:\drive. But before I do this, I need several people to chime in to see if they see the same (Duplicate Installs) and if all works fine. Thanks.Sorry, I just wanted to provide additional details to ensure this gets resolved.

I am beginner to Daz Studio, I have tried my luck in vain...Oh dear, it doesn't sound like you are having a good time :(
I know with DIM you can change the installation paths if the default does not work for you - I assume the same goes for Daz Central.
Hope you can get it sorted!

Looks like some of the clothes in the Bare Necessities Bundle are broken. When I try to load the Lace Babydoll or the Summer Outfit clothes I get errors telling me the texture and geometry files are missing. I am running the latest version of Studio, and I used the Daz Central installer. I don't think it's me though, as looking in Daz Central I'm getting file sizes of 1.16MB and 0.81MB respectivley. Downloading the manual install files shjows the same thing, and the content folders do not contain any texture or geometry files.
Yes, it looks broken. If you look at the Lace Babydoll readme File List, it shows only materials, no geometry. I didn't look at the other one.

I have tried to make a render, something is missing.
I made the installation using the Daz Install Manager, the files for the installation are a whopping 18 GB in size, if going back to Daz Central, the installation will point to C:\ drive instead of the default C:\program Files.
When I tried with another machine to see how it goes, the install went smoothly, unfortunately, that machine has to be checked if there is any problem with the internal components.
I will have to uninstall everything and try again!
Daz Central can't find Daz StudioIf you have an existing Daz Studio install how did you install it? Mixing stand-alone installers and DIM/Daz Central is prone to being problematic.
Daz Central can't find Daz StudioMy own opinion is that Daz Central is and always has been rubbish.
Try DIM instead; does what it says on the tin.

Has anyone else had problems with this item: https://www.daz3d.com/nd-special-eyes-for-genesis-81 , I am not seeing it for download in DIM?
I'm not seeing it in Daz Central either.
I downloaded it from DIM yesterday evening - the trick was to enable the tag "DSON for Poser" (or words to that effect)
Daz Central can't find Daz StudioI have your [] Daz Central program and it can't even find where my DS 4.15 etc is located at. Further it refuses to install some products. Is there a way to just manually install a zip file so I don't have to work with this padded even more useless replacement for Daz Install Manager
