Question on Bryce
Yes I will come. I love 3D even I am not experienced. I used Google Sketchup but it is more for architectures. I love making Landscapes only. I just got a tutorial on Bryce 6, I hope it can help for the Bryce 7 edition. After that, I will search more tutorials here.
ISO Guns and Classic CarsMaking some "Supernatural" renders, are we?
Yeah, that car would be sweet to have a digital copy of. I haven't seen one yet, but there is a freebie "muscle" car you could probably get away with using that might suffice as a substitute over at:
http://www.colacola.se/expo_musclecar.htm
The boys haven't always driven the Impala, and sometimes they just borrow the nearest badass vehicle they can get their bloody mitts on.
You can always check TurboSquid for both items. You might find them there, but they might not be monetarily friendly.
Some good firearms that you could alter (saw your own) can be found over at:www.ontarget3d.com (Seems to be having issues as of now)
Try this link: http://www.ontarget3d.com/site/Category/56-free-stuff.aspx
Here's the one I would modify (make saw-off version): http://www.ontarget3d.com/site/Products/1028-coach-gun-for-poser.aspx
Or, you can always do a conversion of one of the ones found at the SketchUp Warehouse like this one:

Good hunting...AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L'ITALIANO?
O___o" Comunque grazie! ;]

FBX plugin is now working with exporting to Lumion as per prixat's pic. Eyelash problem indicates potential hair transparency problem.
I'm giving up on exporting Daz to WYSIWYG render applications at the moment. If someone makes a WYSIWYG lighting stage plugin for 3delight that will be so awesome. Meanwhile I will attempt to do my final scenes in DAZ with 3delight. Contemplating spending on a GTX card. My quodro1800 is showing its age I think.
Mjc11016 thanks for the Obj tips. I anticipate issues with importing Sketchup OBJs and COLLADAs and materials/textures into Daz. Just installed the Autodesk FBX convertor hopefully that will resolve that problem.
Next is figuring out UVmapping issue between DAZ and Zbrush...
Thanks again for all your help!

And with a bit of converting with sketchup. The sketchup warehouse has a lot of sets that may be utilized. It's just a mater of colouring the sets to suit your needs.

If I need to make something from scratch yes, I always use Bryce... Though I don't tend to need anything too complex for my paid work.
Sometimes I will alter ready made models and in those cases, I also use SketchUp and Poser8, simply because of the amount of free stuff available to use as a basis for what I need.Train for Parkside Tube StationThanks for the links. :)
I'm probably leaning towards something like a London Underground Tube train.
Here's one I found on Google 3D Warehouse that I may be able to import some how and do "something" with:

Shade 3D for Unity is an incredibly useful and free tool for creating and transforming your animated 3D models into game ready content, especially for Unity 3D development.
Unity 3D is a powerful, visual game development tool for building games for the desktop, mobile and console games. Chances are, if you have a 3D game on your iPhone or iPad it was made with Unity. Perhaps best of all, if you are just starting out in game development - Unity 3D won't cost you a thing to get started either.
Shade 3D for Unity lets you import standard 3D file formats such as FBX, Wavefront OBJ, SketchUp skp and Shade shd files and modify and transform them so they can be easily imported into your next Unity based game.

You mentioned that garage a few days ago...where do you get it? I need it...lol. I am building one in Sketchup, but it will house mainly the old cars.

However, I am quite newbie and I have a question for you: When you import the .obj into DS, it asks you for a scale. Which one do you use ? The Poser one or something elese ?
I always import in Silo scale because it is much smaller and most all vehicles will import huge! Then I take it down to about 25% of that scale, center it by importing a VickyRR or M4 and that will find you the exact center, tweek the scale to fit her size. Then delete her, and re-export the vehicle in Poser scale to a new file, be sure you check the "include textures" box and you have a perfect sized and centered model. There will be a maps folder inside your new file folder, keep it there, it holds all the textures and the path to it is kept in a .mtl file that exports with the .obj file. Keep it also.
:-)

Okay, your importing into DS4.5 I'm assuming, when doing the gta cars, those will always import at the same scale, just use a scale percentage of 5000, that will still be small, but you can rescale for the DAZ figures to around 215 percent once you have the car imported, the sketchup cars are all different, so will come in at different sizes, as will anything you've converted over from a lwo or 3ds file using Blender, I still import at 5000%, however, if its so large, then you might want to reimport it and lower the 5000 to 1000 and so on and so forth until you get it load so you can see it.

Sorry, I can't answer that one because I don't use DS but maybe someone else here will have an answer.
CAR AND BIKE LOVERS THREAD - MARK IIHi guys,

Flat surfaces anomalies?Does anyone know what causes flat surfaces to have light area like the one in between the windows on the front left side of the corner house? If you look closely, you can see a dark area below the windows on the wall texture.
I modeled the houses in sketchup and exported them as obj's and then imported the obj into Carrara 8.1 pro as well as Carrara 8.5
Carrara is up to date.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
CraigConvert DAZ Studio Pro output to .KMZ format ?Might anyone know of a method by which one could convert output from Daz Studio Pro ( Version 4.5.1.6 )
to Sketchup's .KMZ format ?So far I have been attempting to do so by exporting to .DAE ( Collada ) format
from Daz, and importing the resulting files into Sketchup 8Upon doing so, the objects imported are incomplete, with sections of the objects missing ?
I've experimented with the various export options in Daz
...for instance, trying the default and custom formats
and the various individual settings in the Collada Export optionsWith no success...
I am using the older "Google" version of Sketchup 8
rather than the newer "Trimble" branded one, and wondered if that might
be part of the problem ?From what I have read online, the issue seems to be related to
the Daz Collada exporter itself, but as I am quite new to Daz
I have no idea if such statements are correct or not. Thanks for any assistance or guidance members may be able to provide...

People do these goodbye threads to get closure. A lot of people spend a lot of time in the forums and make friends here.
I ended my membership with the PC for pretty much the same reasons as Davidh. I still hang out & contribute to the Star Trek thread.
One interesting note - since I spend less time in the forums, I am now learning more skills and am actually doing more renders.
