Turbosquid has both honeycomb and bear-shaped honey bottles (I forgot about those.... I don't like honey very much): https://www.turbosquid.com/Search/Index.cfm?keyword=honey&media_typeid=2. I haven't opened hexagon or Carrara on my new computer but I will see if I can whip up one of each since they don't look like complex shapes.
Yeah, they do, the nice ones kinda pricey. I wish there was more native DAZ items.

so long and thanks for all the fish.
Take care, and good luck with your 3D work. Yes, many of us have had disagreements with DAZ, but hang around to share discoveries and keep track of the many great product creators. And Carrara still lives on.

I don't known for sure whether it is possibly to develop a working plugin with C8_SDK_8.0.0.215 for Carrara 8.5. I've never used it. Most likely you will not be able to use the newer features/functions. But you can always try. "The proof of the pudding is in the eating" Or do you rather prefer a fettbemme with pickles ;)
The documentation is exactly same as the one in the C8_SDK_8.1.1.12. So you can setup a developement environment as described in the documentation (Overview.pdf). And later, when CarraraCafe.com is back online again, you can replace/refresh it with the latest SDK. On windows you also need the QuickTime toolkit from Apple.( see page 10 Overview.pdf) More on that can be found in the Carrara SDK Developer Discussion forum.
The big question is: What do you want the plugin, that you are planning for, to do? Perhaps the functionality is already available in an other plugin. If not, I might be able to tell if it is even possibly. Maybe even develop it for you.
sounds good

The "Animators Assemble!" thread for Daz animation WIPs, clips, and tipsI bought Carrara and have tried to use it, but I've never been able to wrap my head around it.Dartanbeck said:
So Cool!!! Very imaginative!
This was mine. I was learning the ropes of Carrara (and a great many other things) - buying Carrara in the first place so that I could customize meshes on the fly - which it excels at!
It was also my first try with Sony Vegas (now owned by MAGIX) during a 30 day trial. I wasn't rendering for any kind of story, just practicing timings, lighting, stuff like that - learning. So I used a pile of test renders to try out Vegas.
So I called it - Just a Bit of Fun
No one asked me - Diomede screenshots on whatever - Warning AI Discussion OKI missed these additions even though it is my thread, so to speak.
@ed3D, back in my high school days, that would be the very definition of a cool Llama. I think the anti-smoking people specifically targeted the ads that Joe Camel, though. Curious to see where the online Daz AI tool goes.
@Bunyip02, scary kitty, in a good way! The streams turned out very well, in my view.
@Stezza, the term Carrara gets interesting responses. Is it the marble top?
>>> Keyboard Shortcuts for Carrara 8.x (PDF)Thanks too.

just a last question before I'm off hereDaz3d didn’t answer my support request for giving me access to the Carrara SDK. I provided them with billing address and order number of Carrara 8.5.1 Pro purchase and time stamp. That was a week ago. I also asked in the support request why something like the Carrara SDK is not listed as part of the Product List in your purchases.
I could get a Carrara 8.0 SDK (Beta). Question to Carrara Plugin experts:
Will I be able to develop working plugins with the Carrara 8 SDK Beta Version for 64 bit Carrara 8.5.1?
Other than that, I'm pretty much done here.
I'm off then!
so long and thanks for all the fish.
It's not as if I haven't purchased anything here.
I rarely took freebies, as they don't hit the mark with girly underwear and Unicorns in Pink. I'm more the hard Sci.-Fi type that opens Space portals to kick off unwanted pink Unicorns from space!

@Fettbemme, I think most Carrarists (including @Dart, of course) love what you were saying.
Ah, another Carrara feature that needs improvement: the metaballs interface!!!!11!1!1!
As it is now, it seems to belong to another (not very appealing) program.
LOL!!! Indeed!!!The most success I've ever had with Metaballs was in the particle emitter. Makes great water! ;)

maybe upgrade to Carrara 8.5

it has lots of cool additional functions and included content as well as working on Windows 10
Agreed! For what it's going for now especially!
Check out the digital TON of Content you'll get after getting the almost free upgrade!!!
Even more, you'll be amazed at all of the new advancements that have gone into 8.5! I couldn't go back to 7 after I tried 8. But I could never go back to 8 after trying 8.5!!!
Version 8.5
- Native DSON importer (import DAZ Studio DUF files directly from the Browser!)
- Native auto-fit and improved fit-to-functionality for figures' clothing and accessories
- Improved sequencer, key-framing, and animation tools
- "Smart" content and CMS integration
- Animation commands — "Zero", "Memorise", "Restore" (for figures, selections, and selection trees)
- Improved representation of lights in viewport (spot, sun, moon, tube, and shape lights)
- Shader additions (Multi-Layer Shader and Elements)
Version 8.0
- 64-bit support for macOS and Windows
- Multithreading for macOS and Windows
- Bullet physics library
- Improved FBX and COLLADA data exchange
- Negative lights and photometrics (IES)
- "God rays" and "barn door" lighting and effects
- Editing of posed meshes
- Puppeteer
The 8.5 Shader addition - Multi-layer Shader lets us stack elements in any channel much like 'layers' in Photoshop.
The Light Avatar improvements might seem small seeing it written on paper, but in practice? OMG!!!
The new improvements to the Sequencer are really nice too!
For me, the ability to load and use Genesis was a real game changer! I started collecting every crazy shape I could get and now my Genesis 1 figure is Truly Incredible as a Carrara figure!
>>> Keyboard Shortcuts for Carrara 8.x (PDF)Thanks rk66!
I made it available down by where I have the User's Guide in my Carrara Info page, just so (hopefully) it won't ever get lost! ;)

Amen!
I have to say, however, that for me - as long as it keeps working on whatever OS I'm using - I'm happy.
too early to call it Amen
Carrara is so damn good and versitile that I hate to see it catch dust
Carrara has always since the eovia days been on the right track
and development peeked with PBR and 64 bit
that's great. REALLY, I MEAN IT !
That's why we need access to the Carrara SDK
We need a highly committed Plugin-Cafe
Only in this way we get noticed and DAZ could hire Plugin Developers to polish Carrara and later Bryce and Hexagon or integrate the Programs into a new Carrara altogether.,

A little shout out for Carrara in a Daz Studio promoAmen!
I have to say, however, that for me - as long as it keeps working on whatever OS I'm using - I'm happy.
The toughest part is that Carrara, Bryce and Hexagon are truly just products that they brought it. They have developed them quite well while they were developing them, but then I think that they decided that they were pouring too much of their resources into these third-party tools, when they could be spending that energy on their own software - DAZ Studio - which is why it's booming so well.
Being the optimist, I've never taken this as a complete and total loss. I still hold on to the hope that, one day... some cool new person in charge will say: "Dust those things off! I want to see positive results in.... <some insane time frame>"
I would absolutely Love and Support any new development on Carrara, Bryce and Hexagon. Truly!
In the meantime, I really Love what they've already done to Carrara. It certainly doesn't owe me anything. I love how I can hop into my beloved Carrara and just quickly create a model using a plethora of options to get there - or I can quickly mock up some animated effects and render them to alpha - or I can make a stunning backdrop - or I can....
Personally, I love the render engine. If they go PBR with Carrara, I think that 'Forward' development would be better spent on an engine that is not already in fear of abandonment. LuxCore is Awesome, but aren't they retiring that development? It's been such a long time since I've looked into it. SphericLabs took it to a pretty cool state. It's a bummer that he dropped it.
One thing I love about Carrara's render engine is that I don't have to invest in a 537 Bazillion dollar GPU to fit my scenes into it. I can just keep loading stuff, animate it, and render. My Ryzen 7 spools up all 16 threads and gets to work - and it was only a couple hundred dollars that works its tush off for a lot more than just my 3D stuff.
Still. I'd love to see some modern advancements added to this beauty! Still to this day there really isn't any other software that competes with it in my opinion. It does so many different aspects of 3D animation from simple physics to particles to a bazillion and three modifiers, primitives, animated shader capabilities... all of that combined with a Poser/DS library browser? Bam!!! I Loves me my Carrara!!!
A little shout out for Carrara in a Daz Studio promo@DAZ 3D — I post it again here
I think what is needed is a working download for the Carrara SDK.
What else is needed visual realtime updates for Modifiers
The Vertexmodeler needs improving (Display preferences what you want to see to reduce consumption of systemresources — display Edges, Vertices or Faces and if you really want to crawl your system to a halt leave it as it is right now and just display everything. Vertices, Edges and Faces all at the same time!!!)
Integrate a better working version of LuxCore!
Make a production-stable Industrystandard Python Plugin Pipeline like in Blender.
