Animating a growing plant - Ideas?
I think it would need to be converted to a vertex model
then create morph targets
Give more realism to figures (skin tips ?)Make sure you poses interract with the environement.
Feet rest on the floor; a body squishes when it lies on something; a bed (for example) indents when someone lies on it.
If a character is holding an item, use yourself as a reference to see what happens; if it's heavy, the character's frame should reflect that.
Hair (especially but not limited to long hair) adjust with gravity; wind can have an affect, but a morph to move it due to wind doesn't make it look like it is blowing in the wind. Dforce is great here.
Clothes are similar to hair.
Do all parts of the scene behave in the same way?
Light - shadows as an example should be consistent to the lighting present.
Dirt/clutter - adds to realism; if there isn't much, make it consistent - or the story should be why?
Do the items in the scene together make sense?
Depth of Field is a great way of blurring the unimportant - it adds realism - and it allows you to focus the viewer where you want.
Smoothening morphs for Daz G8I feel like there are very few morphs that smoothens various body parts for Genesis 8 figures. For example I always want a morph that smoothens necks. Did I miss any important product or functions in Daz3d? Can someone point them out if any.Problems dForce-ing a dressI made a dress in Blender a few months ago, and I've been trying to get dForce to work with it ever since.
Basically I'd like for the torso/corset to be rigid/keep its shape/not simulate/or make it "tighter", and only to have the skirt simulate. Don't worry if you don't understand my dilemma, I've drawn something in paint to try and help me explain it (see attached).
Of course I've used Transfer Utility. It's just the dForce part that I'm having problems with. :/

Hi all,
How do you remove morphs from the TLManager? I have some products that are no longer in my database but still show up in the list of morphs.
Hmmm, that is something I hadn't thought about. I would enable ALL morphs (or reset Content directories), clear the list, and then rescan.
No, that didnt work. Any other suggestions? Feature for a new version?
If you cleared the list and rescan and they showed up, that means the morphs are still there. They should show up. You would have to delete the morph files for them not to be found.
Yah theyve already been deleted from my ssd. Im wondering if im on the current version though. Ill check version numbers and re-install if I have to.
Ok, so to rehash, the morphs had been deleted from my ssd previous to this issue. I have reinstalled TL. I have enabled/disabled all my morphs and re-scanned in TL. The morphs still show up. As an experiment, I enabled all of the mystery morphs to see what would happen if I tried to load them onto my g8f. TL completes the process with no errors and states "0 morphs enabled (0 failed), 0 morphs disabled (0 failed). I load my g8f and she is completely blank, no morphs at all. I exit, re-launch, and load the test figure. She loads fine, no errors, still no morphs. I re-launch TL and the mystery morphs are still listed and still checked as enabled.
My database is on an external ssd. I just located the TL cache in C:ProgramData:Daz 3d:Turbo Loader. All of the morphs im trying to get rid of are still listed in the cache. I read about an option in the documentation to refresh the cache but I havent seen it in TL.
Are the morph files on disk? Did you CLEAR the morph list before rescanning? (usually you do not do this, but since you have enabled all morphs, this is safe). If you have cleared the morph list and the files are not on disk, there is no way that they would be detected in a new scan.
Ill keep looking to see if its an error on my side. I have been clearing the morph list and ive reset the content directory and the morph directory. I keep coming up blank though. Either way, ill let you know what happens in a few days... Ill give you a break for the weekend :))
Still an outstanding program. I use it everyday and its opened up so much more potential in my d3d!
Could you perhaps share a video of what you are doing? There really is no way for TL to find morphs that don't exist on disk. With the morphs you think are deleted, double click on one and TL will open up File Explorer to where it thinks it found it.
Modeling how skin curves or mushrooms around objects (Lady bound and tied).Hello,
I know that some articles of clothing have morphs that allow more of a relistic look by showing the pressure exerted on the skin. Many Lingerie items are designed like this and leather outfits as well. However, it is usually based on the artist that designed the article of clothing whether or not they include a pressure induced morph. But what about articles of clothing that don't have the morph? Or another scenario, what about a person tied up in ropes like this:
(Image removed by Mod per ToS)
How does one show the pressure the rope is exerting on the model's arms, such as shown here on the woman's upper arms? Is that something that could be done in Daz or do you need an outside program, such as Blender to create this effect?
Thank you,
Geo
AI is going to be our biggest game changerSo is ai the make art button that has been talked about for years? Is it as satisfying as creating art work in other ways? Who owns the intellectual property rights to ai? What is the ethics involved in creating art work using this method?
ai raises more questions for me than I have answers...
@WendyLuvsCats, great images you seem to have a knack for it.
Questions aside, a friend recently posted an image from ai which after a long dry spell art wise has inspired me to create a morph dialled character.
My friends image plus my morph...
Altering clothing itemsbstanle said:
Hi,
Thanks for the tip about blender. I am using Linux and have just downloaded the Linux version. I will have to learn to use it. A possible problem is
Another question...
The shirt I am talking about was bought from DAZ. Can I alter that shirt? What about the ability of that shirt to conform to whatever pose the figure is in? For example. When the figure bends over, can the altered shirt move in sync with the figure?
Bill
You can alter it for personal use. It is also possible to release a morph for an item that you have created as long as there is no part of the original item and just the morph from the data folder. I've released Diva fits for some ot the dawn items in this way.
SY clothing breast helper affect breast, not cloth? It sounds like it's supposed to be a projection morph that is behaving like a regular morph, which is potentially an issue with the product. However, if it does solve the problem of clothes not fitting properly over the breasts, which is what it's designed to do, how much does it matter what the breasts look like underneath the clothing?
How big is Daz3D's community (limited to this website or not)?Hey Ken, I'll look forward to seeing you over there.
@nemesis10 yes similar to that. Funnily enough the image below was by a friend on facebook and it inspired me to try and recreate the character. The image is a dialled morph but eventually I want to try and create a custom character in zbrush as the jaw, chin and eyes aren't quite right.

DAZ studio only feature
convert to LIE (layered image Editor ) and save the temporary files found in my documents DAZ 3D
That won't cover all use-cases, for example if there is an offset or if the shell is using a different UV set.
then one may need to use the map transfer in surfaces to create matching textures
an image editing app is also useful and masking pixel offset and other functions in the Unreal material node
What is PBM, FBM, pJCM, eJCM?PBM - Partial Body Morph, a morph that affects only a limited area
FBM - Full Body Morph, a morph that affects the whole figure (more-or-less)
JCM - Joint Controlled Morph, a morph thata djusts the figure in response to a bend to improve the look of the result
Clothing needs enough morphs to fit and pose well, and yes the process is complex (and frequenrtly tiresome)
3D Printing Licences - What?richardandtracy said:
Hmm.
The earliest download I have a record of on the DAZ site is Victoria[1] Sample maps, on 23 May 2002. There must have been a bit of a data transfer from Zygote to DAZ, even if it isn't currently complete.
Oh, and it's still got the Standard License.
Regards,
Richard
None of my purchases before 2001-12-29 are in my Library this would include the original Victoria version 1 and 2 and Michael version 1 , Stephanie, as well as some textures for the Poser figures
How to make a Genesis 8 figure from a Genesis 8.1 using Dial Fusion? [Solved]PerttiA said:

I have also done renders and found that if you take Michal 8.1 or any other 8.1 figure and reverse the dials you get a Genesis 8.1 figure.
Yes, because the Genesis 1 to 8.1 base figures (the ones included for free in Starter Essentials) are the only figures with full geometry/mesh files, every other character is just a morph for these base figures and doesn't have full geometry/mesh, only information for where and how much should every vertex be moved (=deltas) from the original location on the base figure.
This is such an awesome thing to know and realize when working with 8.1 characters! Thanks PerttiA for your indepth explaination here regarding the mesh!
What is PBM, FBM, pJCM, eJCM?I'm getting more confuse.
I need to understand what is PBM, FBM, pJCM, eJCM?
how many morph does a cloth need?
I feel that, making a cloth is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo complex.

Why is my dforce hair getting stuck in simulation when using a pose?Ah okay I see, yes that helped thank you! I had to break a few bones trying to morph the hair into place in that pose but perhaps that is a common practice when it comes to dforce hairs?
How to make a Genesis 8 figure from a Genesis 8.1 using Dial Fusion? [Solved]Okay I was wrong, (sorry) when head morphs are applied to Genesis 8 or Genesis 8.1 characters the results are as far as I can see, identical.
I am shocked at how nice this works!
I applied the same morph (created in Dial Fusion) that contained a mixture of three characters heads.
This is really great to know that both figures respond the same and deliver the same results.
It is as if they are both the same figure (sort of).
The figure on the left is Genesis 8.1 and the figure on the right is Genesis 8 after the same morphs were applied to both.
(Note: With Dial Fusion you can apply the head morphs 100% but you can only apply the body morphs 50% at the same time.)
Blender to Daz3D with G8F modifications? When you say "a Blender model", I have the feeling that you want to morph an apple into a boat.
I don't know where this model comes from but you should read a bit about 3D morphing before attempting anything. It's not because you see a humanoid shape that that's what it is. For a computer it's just polygons and vertices. And in any 3D toplogy : each vertex has a specific number. A morph has to BE a totally identical wireframe, whether it be a monkey, a humanoid or a rock.
Hoping that this "Blender model" will have the same topology as Genesis is a literally impossible dream.
For morphing, you have to think ONE way only (in DAZ or any other 3D app that ever existed) : You start from a shape A, and move its vertices around to shape it into anything B. In other words, if you want Genesis to look like your model, and if you want all other Genesis morphs (mouth open, eyes closed, etc.) to work with your model, you need to transform the Genesis into your model and not the other way around.
Shaping the Genesis into a cube is possible. Shaping a random cube downloaded from internet into Genesis is impossible. But if you want to do it anyway, you need to start from the Genesis and manually shape it into that cube. Using Blender or any other 3D modeling app.
Then all other morphs will work.
