Can't add interior for building
I installed via DIM and when I look in Smart Content under the Mercantile Interior product there is a file called !Preload, which does load the interior for me.
If you installed manually you won't have created Metadata for it (there is some, even though the files themselves are Poser .cr2)
If you want it in Smart Content then try updating metadata for PID 8889 in Daz Studio using the Content DB Maintenance function (just select the lines with 8889 in them, not the whole list, or it could take a long time)
Otherwise in the Content Library pane you need to pick "Poser Formats", then "Characters" (or maybe it is called "Figures" I can't quite remember which) then "O_W_Mer_Int" and load the file in that library that is called !Preload.cr2 . Once the interior model is loaded you can use the DS Materials that you already found.
[Edit to clarify my remarks on Metadata]

Are there any tutorials you have made with respect to soft tissue dynamics / jiggle using VWD cloth and hair 2?
There are not.
VWD Cloth and Hair V2 has not been updated for quite some time and feels abandoned, so I wasn't sure anyone still used it.
That said, that's what I use and here's the simple process:
- After the animation is ready for the soft-body physics to be applied, launch VWD
- Before doing anything else: Utilities > Delete all "Exchange" files, the click Restore default parameters - Do both of these Every Time you use VWD for soft-body!!!
- Make sure the character is selected in the Scene Import box on top
- Click the Collision button just below it
- Click the new bigger Collision button
- In Utilities, click "Dynamic Morphs"
- In the new options, use the drop-down to find the Genesis version you're working with in the Presets parameter
- After it gets done preparing your character, click the "Start Dynamic Simulation" button (leave everything in this area at default)
- When done, click Send Animation to Host [Edit: Spacebar to stop it from playing the animation/arrow left to rewind to beginning]
The last keyframe of the simultion will be bad, so go to the four breast morphs that it affects and delete the very last keyframe.
Notes:
Never select GPU for calculating for Soft-body*
- Modern GPU drivers are not supported
- Soft Body never worked properly using GPU
*modern GPU are not supported, so it won't work for cloth or hair either - use the CPU instead
Genesis 9 needs a preset
New presets can be created manually. The instructions are in the extensive manual that comes with V2.
I have not been successful creating a preset for Genesis 9. Maybe another user has? I don't know. I haven't been successful creating a Rosie 9 character yet, so I'm not using G9 that much right now, so I haven't made this a priority. So when I do need soft-body for Genesis 9, I've been using eReal Auto Breast Animator with decent success.
Other Options
Another option I use for Genesis 9 is to use the Breast Motion animations from Havanalibera's animation kits that include them, then just move the keyframes around to where they make sense. This has been working Very well - so... Thanks again Havanalibera!!!
Hope this helps. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask!! :)
Strange vertex mismatch of exported prop in Blender (custom morphs)crosswind said:
In the case of OBJ to Blender: OBJ importer in Blender removes the unused vertices, most likely that could be the reason why you got "mismatch" message.
You can either try: Select the Prop, activate Geometry Editor , RMB menu in Viewport > Geometry Editing > Delete Unused Vertices. If it reports certain count of unused vertices, delete them, then it'll work.
Or, import the Prop to Blender by using Diffeomorphic Daz Importer, the unused vertices can be preserved.
Oh wow, that was the issue. Thank you!
I wasn't even expecting anyone to know the answer to this lol, I haven't seen it covered anywhere in any tutorial.

That sounds as if there may be isolated vertices, and Blender is removing them. Check to se if killing isolated vertices is an option in the Blender import settings and if it is turn it off.
Although I didn't find the option to turn this feature off in Blender's import settings the issue was indeed isolated/unused vertices. Thanks!
Help with creating clothes, a house and other stuffI was assuming jflum01 is aware of what is in the DAZ store but wants to create stuff themselves
I own an awful lot of DAZ content (309 pages in product library) but I still like to model and create my own stuff
I use Carrara and Zbrush myself but any software is valid, seen awesome stuff even made in Wings3D
to use, just create something, export an obj and import it into D|S basically
obviously more to it but there are tutorials for everything

I’m assuming that Daz and Blender are compatible when putting a scene together and rendering it. Which one would I use for the final render? Do I import items from Blender into Daz or would I import my Daz figures into Blender?
I use Daz Studio to dress, pose and stage my characters, place my environment sets, props and lighting.
I finally render in Daz Studio with the Iray rendering engine.I mainly use Blender for 3D modeling:
- Create my own props, environment sets, clothes, hair, etc from scratch.
- Modify or enhance existing props, etc for my personal use, needs, and tastes.
- Create morphs for my Daz Studio characters.
- Optimize UV mapping mainly for clothes.I use Photoshop and Gimp to create, modify or optimize texture maps.
All this needs a lot of interactions ( import, export, morphs loading, etc ) between applications.
And all this is time consuming and fun!
Good luck!
Carla for Cecelia 9?Did you refresh the metadata?

Strange vertex mismatch of exported prop in Blender (custom morphs)I'm trying to create a morph in Blender for a prop but I keep getting geometry mismatch errors when I load it in Morph Loader Pro. I'm able to create morphs for pretty much anything I've tried so far, characters, clothes, hair, other props, but this one prop is giving me trouble.
I exported the prop in base resolution as an obj file just like normal at 1% scale for Blender but when I imported it in Blender I noticed that the vertex count is slightly lower. However, if I import the same obj file in DAZ the vertex count matches the original item. So it comes out of DAZ with the correct number of vertices but for some reason changes when I import it in Blender. This is the only prop that I've found with this behavior, if I take another random prop and export it the vertex count will match in both Blender and DAZ and I'm able to create morphs with no problems.
What could be the cause of this? Do some props hidden properties that you need to change as well? or is this a problem with Blender or DAZ?
Next camera/previous camera scriptMAJOR kudos to Richard Haseltine for the scripts!! The read-me was concise and to the point, and I was able to import these as custom actions and assign them to keystrokes. It is SO nice to be able to cycle thru the cameras without having to take my hands off the keyboard!
Thank you, Sir!

The problem is unless you export & import the CMS db (Postgresql) for your 2nd PC, copying the entire DAZ Content Library won't work. Even in Batchmode DIM took over a day to install all my DIM products. I have my DIM products saved on USB SSD so at least I don't have to download all that again & again.I
Re-importing metadata don't take that much time (for those who don't know, Right Click on Content Library Tab > Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata).
Thanks for that, maybe I'll try it next time but I don't mind clean installing either unless I were to have to re-download all 9000 products.
Help with creating clothes, a house and other stuffThanks for the feedback so far. To help clarify, yes I have DIM and have searched the Daz store and purchased a few items.
The main issue I have is there is limited environments of homes, hotels and resorts. Specifically something that would resemble a mountain retreat / ski lodge or a lakefront home. Something that has a big great room with exposed wood beams and a 2nd floor that overlooks that room. Or a high rise apartment / condo or even a big luxury hotel room that has a balcony that looks good that I could have overlooking a city or ocean.
And then some of the stuff I have found, purchased and used is kind of poor quality. The people I put in the render are too lifelike or real looking for the toonish surroundings. I’m sure that would be fine for the G1 or maybe even the G3 characters but the quality of the G8 is so much better. And now they have a G9 that I haven’t even started to play around with. I’m assuming that one will be even better.
Plus I have only been able to find one scene for a cruise ship, the ship pool scene, and only three different yachts. Two of them are unusable for what I want, one of them is actually pretty good and I have it now, but even it is a little toonish. But I make it work for now.
The same goes for the clothes. Although there is a large selection, some of it is to toonish for the actor. And sometimes I can’t find the exact piece of clothing I’m looking for. Like a realistic corset with the strings in the back. I found one that looks close to what I was looking for but it looks like it belongs on a G1 figure, and it doesn‘t have the ability to morph, I can’t tighten or loosen the strings at all.
I have even looked on a couple secondary markets for houses, buildings and clothes but they seem to have the same or similar items as the Daz store. So unless you all can direct me to some other web sites that I may have missed, ones with other / higher quality items, I figure my next best step is to create my own. So far it sounds like I should get Blender.
I’m assuming that Daz and Blender are compatible when putting a scene together and rendering it. Which one would I use for the final render? Do I import items from Blender into Daz or would I import my Daz figures into Blender?

Import material Daz to blenderNo... you wrongly extracted the product content...You don't need to create new folder or something... You should :
1) Press F2 in DS > Content tab > Content Directory Manager, under Daz Studio Formats, only keep the path: D:/Daz 3D Dossier/Utilisateurs/Public/Documents/My Daz 3D Library. Delete other paths !! Accept.
2) Press F2 again > General tab, Clear DSON Cache Files ! Accept.
3) Extract the content folders of this Syph product to D:/Daz 3D Dossier/Utilisateurs/Public/Documents/My Daz 3D Library Be Noted: you must directly extract: data, People, Runtime folders to the Library, not any sub-folder in the root directory within in the ZIP package !!!
4) In a New Scene, load G8F, load Mech Skin (bodysuit) from the above extracted content folder to G8F. Save the scene and Export to Blender. Import to Blender with Diffeomorphic. As long as you configure / do each step correctly, it'll work ~~~
Anyone else having problems with the EG Kin (G9) model? [Solved]I reinstalled daz on my computer a few months ago, and every other asset/model I own seems to load in correctly, but the EG Kin model seems to be broken.
Problems I've encountered:- Subsets including her model are broken (eyeballs dislocated, mouth pursing or funneling exaggerated, etc), overall body shape seems intact
- Base Model loads in as default Genesis 9 figure with her skin and eye mats applied (creepy)
- Trying to blend her model in with sliders in the shaping tab, results in nothing, almsot as if her model is actually gone.
Thing I've tried:
- Completely removing her content from Content folder
- Installing through Daz IM
- Manual reinstallation
- updating metadata
- Reinstalling Daz altogether
I'm hoping it's jsut me missing something or a box I'm not ticking, but maybe it actualyl is the mdoel. Anyoen else encountered this?
Import material Daz to blendercrosswind a dit :
Ha I didn't think about that at all because I saw the daz library as you can see (V1) actually I have another library (V2) so I should put Syph in my DAz 3D library?
I created a folder in La Library, and tried it, but it still didn't work! (Syph_V3) and (daz_Syph_V4) (ShaderEdit_V5) it's crazy! In the global parameters I've got a File error and the setting directory is still C:/User.... While everything is in the D, you can see on the photo that the path is D:/Daz 3D Dossier....( V6)

I exported CR2 from Daz Studio and Imported into Poser 13Kebby said:
So I need to pose in DAZ and export, or can I still pose them in Poser? I never tried this.
It's more challenging to pose inside Poser 13, so pose your figure and run your simulations before exporting the FBX. It's not impossible to pose the FBX import inside Poser 13, just more work.
Tips/Tools to keep track of your assetsIn DIM, you can export a .csv file of selected products, which you can import into a spreadsheet. (You'll need to do it for the three tabs in DIM if you want to catch all products). Once in the spreadsheet, you can manipulate the data in all sorts of ways. Select the products and right-click somewhere in the main window. You will get a pop-up with options for which fields you want to include.
Is it possible to lower the clothes?Yes, but the difficulty varies. Some clothing items will have built in morphs to do that automatically. For those that don't, it's trickier. DFormer is a built-in Daz tool that will allow you to create morphs that do what you are asking and you can find tutorial videos on how to use it. Mesh Grabber is an add-on tool that can do similar things. Finally, you can export the item to something like Blender or Hexagon to produce the required morphs and then import it back into Daz. There are videos on the web that show all of these methods. Expect to spend some time learning to use the various tools, though.
