Since the names for some Genesis 1 surfaces are different from Genesis 2 and Genesis 3, and likewise between Genesis 2 and Genesis 3, I assume you had to set them yourself to make the presets. Did you leave out the V3 preset because relatively few people use her?

Also, it would be great if Daz considered discount for Victoria 8 based on how many Genesis 3 characters you own for example to make the transition to new generation easier for loyal customers : )

so you can autofit M4 stuff an genesis and other war round, genesis materials to g2 (m/f) and the other way round, and g2m to g3m; g2f to g3f and the other way round ( though I found way up seems to work better than way down). to fit M4 on g2m this product helps http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male.

You can use a trick to make it work on g3m: fit a g2 male to the g3 male and make it invisible, autofit the clothing to the g2m

Ah, the link you gave Michael 4 for G2M, that is the other autofit product I bought and I couldn't remember the name of it and well, you'll scene yourself I'm just how obscure and hidden products you've bought can be in the DAZ Content Library. I also bought a product Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female at about the same time but it is by another author. Or maybe those products are the reason I have an option in Autofit to go directly from M4/V4 to G2M/G2F?  I want equivalent functionality for M4/V4 to G3M/G3F.

I just fitted M4 Urban Wear to Cory 6 and saved as a Wearable Preset and then tried the Wearable Preset on Genesis 3 Male but DAZ Studio crash dumped.

I will buy the Wear  Them All and makes things easier. There is too much M4/V4 clothing that I like and can used.

However, once I have them fitted and working on Genesis 3 how do I save the clothing to now be Genesis 3 clothing? Or is that even possible, will the preset wind up being just a script that automating uses Wear Them All and opens the V4/M4 clothing rather than open a new Genesis 3 clothing created from the old V4/M4 clothing?

LOL, I realized that right after I posted it- was SOOOOO tired. If you look, the post was edited at 4:22am, and let's put it this way, have you ever gone into a store to get one item, bought a lot of things, then left without the item you went in for? I went to edit the post to take that one line out, edited the other paragraph instead, and forgot to do what I was editing to begin with! I was really busy when Lilith came out so her release didn't really stick in my mind, I was actually off the computer quite a bit (for once!)  But I got to thinking, "Wait a minute..." when I saw the hair in the Pro bundle and recognized it as being previously published.  So no, you aren't being deprived of an orange bar LOL. 

So what are you folks buying?  The two things I really wanted was the UltraScatter for instancing (which I've never done before, should be fun) and the Aging Morphs by Zev0. (for Genesis 3)  I did get Teen Girl Heels  because as the title says, they are elevated shoes but not spikey and tall, and have cute materials. Great for dressy or casual. These would go nice with the Sunny Dress And Shoes  (which those shoes definitely are spikey) and perhaps 9-10 year olds could wear them. (See Barbult's cute render of the dress, several posts back.)

One product to take a look at is the Couples' Run Poses- nice variety there!

I'll render some ladies I haven't done yet, that are in the featured stores, since I have the lighting already set up for the most part. Really have to do Zbrush today but I can do portraits at the same time. That (what looks to be) simple scene I did yesterday took me hours. Oh, btw, I took the materials from the Supersuit and applied them to the red leggings from the Jackyline outfit on these. In the scene previously, I hadn't (they were red though.)  So to be clear, those leggings/pants are Jackyline outfit, with Supersuit (or one of the Supersuit products) materials applied.

So as promised, this is FWSA Imogen from that scene. I couldn't think of who she was triggering in my mind, her nose is tilted slightly more at the tip, but she reminded me of Melissa Ordway. Thin the bottom lip and she'd resemble her even more.  I like the materials, and as usual, the thicker eyebrows. If you use the Supersuit red, I would darken the red of the shoes. Shown out of the box and they are a tad too light.

Victoria is know as a snowflake maiden that lose her fantastic hair against a rogue hairdresser she paid for a simple haircut (this is 1 day ago!).
She was sad to not having anymore any hair on her classy head..
Therefore, she can't waiting for new haircut since the problem is, as a maiden, she must help ANYONE that need help.
So...
It's a stone vaudou stranger that needing for help this time: she want that Victoria do some travel to some stone vaudou babies.
Victoria must accept and so..
She must completely forgotten to purchase some perukes..
Then.. as fake new hairs she's taking the Alien Plant trophy on her desk and put it on her head with some glue!
She now are weird but at least, she now have some hairs to wear..
Then, she's going to the people that called her for help !
And..
The stone stranger tell her the help is simple, "Keep babies and make them take a walk."
She's telling him that she was okay, and the stone stranger was gone just 1 minute after.
But.. WHAT A SURPRISE!??
When she's take a look to the pram where babies lies.
She discover the "babies", she can't help herself to let escape a "WTF?" reguarding theses strange babies..
And then started to ask gods WHY SHE MUST HELP THOSE... THINGS.. AND THEIR WEIGHT.. As heavy as stone.
Gods aswered with a Snowy rain... and now, she's stuck in snow, with strange babies and ... without real hairs!

WHAT A LIFE for our Victoria as a Snowflake maiden.. Poor Poor.. Bad day and.. hum.. Well.. You can't think what she's considering from now...

PS: please, forgive my mistakes in sentences, and, for the title, R R R R was a hard exercise to find what it will fit in theses letters and IN ENGLISH. ;o

      RENDER TIME ELAPSED & EXPLANATIONS ON HOW I MADE SOME THINGS: in my DAZ3D gallery.
      I EDITED MY POST FOR ADDING THE IMAGE IN DIRECT VIEW (in addition to thumbnail attachment view).

Each generation has its own strengths:

Genesis 1: can use clothing, morphs, items interchangeably between genders.  This is the best version for monsters as well - because the monsters can also use the clothing (and be made female).  Also easily uses V4 textures by just changing the UV on the Surfaces tab to Victoria 4.

Genesis 2: Split into separate genders.  Higher polygons, more detail, better posing than Genesis 1.  Can't use G1 or V4/M4 clothing/textures/morphs without converters.  Has asymmetric (left/right) morphs for more realistic characters. 

Genesis 3: Lower polygons than G2 (less detail), fewer left/right morphs as well.  Improved posing and expressions. Iray ready.  Different UV maps means that you need special converters (beyond the G2/G1/V4 clones) to use old textures. 

I personally chose not to invest in Genesis 3 for a couple of reasons:  (1) I have already heavily invested in G1/G2 and they suit my needs just fine.  (2) I don't feel that the changes in G3 were significant enough to warrant purchasing everything again (which is pretty expensive). There's a whole discussion out there about G2 vs. G3 and how many people elected not to purchase G3.  (3) There aren't too many characters out there that I really like because I have so many others that satisfy my needs.

Advice for a newcomer:

All that being said, it's best for a newcomer to invest in the most current character (G3) because you are getting the newest technology.  You will need to purchase a number of backwards compatible products to make full use of it. 

As far as the G1 morphs you purchased:  Before returning this item, do a search of G1 characters.  If you find some that you really like and they require the morphs, then you can buy them.  There have been times when I returned something only to repurchase it later.  If you got a great deal on it, go ahead and keep it.

I think the most versatile approach is to make use of all three generations.  Chose one to invest in (G3) but don't ignore G1 or G2 - there are some really cool characters out there.  I have found that the faces for V5/M5 are great to build characters from - they have wonderful features.  Plus, the older the characters, the steeper the discounts.  When you learn to play with the surfaces you can make all of them look really good. 

Also, the freebie advice is great.  I have acquired lots of characters for free.  Sort the list by Price Low to High and you will find freebies that don't show up in the Daz Freebies category.  ShareCG is another place to go for freebies.  Especially consider a Platinum Club membership - it does indeed pay for itself quickly.  The sales at Daz3D stack, and smart shopping can gain you an amazing discount. 

There was a freebie sale finder utility - darned if I can't remember what it was and I didn't bookmark it.  If someone else has it, please clue us both in. 

Why does my content library return so many unrelated search results in the newest beta?  In 4.8 I would just type "victoria 4 cr2" for example and it would pop right up.  In 4.9 it returns 1,200 results of unrelated files.  I imported my old database from 4.8 and the mapped directories are the same as they were in 4.8.  So I'm confused why I can't search for a simple file without getting all these unrelated results.

Put the filename in quotes.

Okay, FINALLY. When I do scenes to show products, it takes forever! Go back to this post for most of the information. The only products not linked were the Deco 12th Floor and I changed the floor to gray, some walls to gray, and seating to blue. The grays were to help with the brighter lighting, I used one Distant light from your right to throw more side lighting/rim, and use the Architectural Lighting Rig (I'd scoop up ALL of those while on sale, and to be honest, if I were a vendor I"d be using that and a couple distant lights, and those would be my promo lights for portraits! You'll see in a few minutes. I'm not saying mine are promo worthy with this minor tweaking, I'd want to finesse a bit more, but I like them. )  @Marshian   @Marshian2

Wouldn't know that is Nox Hair when you see if from the front, and the mohawk sized down! One nice thing is you can actually click on a braid in the viewport and just use bend to get it off the shoulder/chest. You don't have to go to Parameters and find the move morphs.

Note Soraya's multi-colored shoes, that is also DestinyGarden's tropical shaders!  I added a hint of the waist color into it, it already had two different shades of blue and green. I think there's about four colors in the shoes. NEAT! And aren't Imogen's shoes cool?

Edit: one other note- I changed the diffuse base color for the dress, to make it green instead of white. Remember that even with shaders, you can still change the colors of the base color and change the overall "tint."

DESCRIPTION
Here are 4 blood or gore overlay png files to use on your preferred character’s facial texture. Two are at 4000×4000 pixels, the standard size for Victoria/Michael/Kids 4 facial textures. Two are at 4096×4096 pixels, the standard size for Genesis 1, Genesis 2, and Genesis 3’s head textures.

Please note that these overlays in no way intend to replicate either the color or behavior of actual blood. They work best for characters in costume or for fantasy renders.

To use these files, open your preferred facial texture in an image editing program that reads pngs. Then open the preferred blood or gore overlay, copy it, then paste it onto your preferred facial texture. It should cover the character’s mouth area. Flatten image and save modified texture under a different file name than original texture. Back in your rendering program, replace preferred character’s unbloodied facial texture with this one. Congratulations! You have now made a really messy eater!

Oh, I'm so glad you did! I did get it but haven't rendered it yet. Yours looks so sweet! What made me think of kids was the cute collar combined with the ruffles. I'm setting up a render with Destiny Garden's Iray Tropical Fabric Shaders of another dress, and I bet the Sunny one would look really good with those too, with the collar and bottom patterned, and the dress solid, or that flipped.(@DestinysGarden)  

I'm trying to do renders today to help people with their buying choices, I'm on a different sleep schedule so just waking up (11am)  Let me just say to everyone (in case you're checking out soon) you'll really want to give Soraya for Rune a look (it IS Connect) because I put her on Victoria 7 and she is quite nice. I didn't buy Rune.   ( @3dSublimeProductions @FredWinklerArt  @Sabby  ) 

 And SURPRISINGLY- Nox Hair  ( @AprilYSH )for (wait for it) a sophisticated up-do. Yeah, you read correctly, I'm putting it in bold and red because this is a "you-wouldn't-know-it." The included morphs allow that mohawk to be sized down and even rotated backward or forward, which then makes it quite elegant compared to the promos. I'm not saying you'll get a Baroness type hair (speaking in general, but I believe there is also a hair named that and it came to mind.)  So it may be about half an hour or more before I get these posed and done but want you to know about those.

And yes, as mentioned before- the Jackyline Outfit  @Zoe goes GREAT with the Supersuit top underneath. (and texture sets, already linked a few posts back.)  No poke through, just parent the supersuit to the woman and the outfit to the suit. (think layers, newbies. This lays on top of the bottom item so is parented to it. Then the top layer of clothing is laid on top of the middle item.)   

Let me say I don't buy jewelry. I just use what comes with the outfits and I have more than enough. But SO glad I bought @Fisty&Darc Jewels At Dawn  Every bangle is a separate material zone, and the materials and shaders are AWESOME. So many to choose from, there is an outstanding variety. Well worth the price! 

And heads up- @HowieFarks UltraScatter is in the sale. I didn't pick it up when offered and have been reading SO many good things about it. Definitely going to get it. I'm tired of doing repetitive plants and background elements. This is a practical product you'll use in many scenes. Instances help you render those more quickly, and this product isn't a plop and done- you can rotate and scale too. It's 10.78 with a new/debut in cart.

A cute little cheapie that I think will be adorable after shaders- Kemet and it has two wine holders- note the plugs! They're not vases. Use shaders on those too and you'll have a cute prop, all for $2.70!   Retro Dream car is also $2.70  (assuming New/Debut bought)

And using Jennifer Hair- really like it! Good for dressing up or casual. ( @Kool )
