I thought you might be interested in the results of my experiment.
Today's experiment with DAZ Studio and Iray examines converting "FWSA Samira HD for Victoria 7" using "N.G.S. Anagenessis 2 - Revolution".  I had to manually apply the glitter masks back to the character. Her runes on her torso and on her face, have a mask in the 'Metallic Flakes Weight' - the value set to 1, then in the 'Metallic Flakes Color' zone it has the corresponding color I wanted. I also looked at the "Top Coat Color" and noticed it was a little dark , so I increased it's value. No postwork.

I am thinking about buying the Hattie Madder outfit: http://www.daz3d.com/hattiemadder for Victoria 4, I wonder how it autofits to Genesis 3 female, have anyone tried it? the shoes probably doesn't work so well but the rest of the outfit?

Here's the dress autofitted (Full Body) to G3F, had to morph it a bit (lots of fit morhps included) to remove some poke-through. The sleeves though won't fit, don't know if there's a way to make them work. Iray render with default texture, no iray shaders.

The last one shows Vanessa without makeup. I applied the UberBase to everything on the Jousting Ground set, increased the bump on the dirt ground. Didn't really take a lot of time to tweak the set. There's a lot of tents, be sure and turn off what's not in the scene. 

TIP: The Dark Spell poses have some easy to tweak "fighting" stances/ poses. Do those first, then use the sword-holding pose that is included with Darkshade. (Yes, the sword comes with it and has a one click hand pose, you choose either left or right hand.)  Easy!

I've got to get back to Zbrush, hope everyone has a happy shopping day/ wrapping it up. 

LOL, I had to laugh after I rendered this. That flag in the back, it looks like she shish-kabobbed something on the tip of her sword and she's looking at it, quite pleased.

This is shown on Genesis 3 Female, I do not own Rune. 

The bangs can be rounded, length changed, it can be uneven edges- so I was pleasantly surprised at the variety. I did a 16 for smoothing and couldn't get the sharply divided sections to look softer, so this is as good as I could get it. 

Notice her nice teeth- look very natural. 

The running pose is Capsces Fun and Flirty (Victoria 7)

And look how different she looks with Kara Hair and her dark makeup. Like a totally different person!  The Kara Hair promos don't really tell the story. There are SO many morphs, wishlist it! You can change the poofiness of the sides, top, even at the front hairline. It addresses the shoulder, chest, neck! Be sure and take a look at all of them on the product page. Really like it! 

Wearing Esther Shirt. If I ever use it for a keepable render, I'll put something under it to make it family friendly. Got it in the $7 Girl 7 Bundle..

I bought Zev0's and Draagonstorm's Pose builder so that I can mix and match/mirror existing poses. I have the one for Genesis 1 and 2 figs, and there's a separate one for Genesis 3 figs (which also bundles with the pose converter) and V4/M4. It cuts the time so that the minutiae is really what I have to work on. That said, that fine tweaking still takes anywhere from 15 minutes to close to an hour.

One is a morph, the other a texture, so yes they mix. (HD refers to the mesh resolution, not to image size.)

The HD add on is the morph? And it only applies to a certain charcter right? Since most of the character variants for example of Victoria 7 like Eva 7 are already in HD?

I've seen a similar problem but is was for the entire Victoria 7 model. She was all square blocks like a character from Minecraft. I fixed my problem by uninstalling Victoria 7 and Genesis 3 Female, and Genesis 3 Essentials.

Maybe you will need to do the same but for Genesis Essentials and Genesis 2 Male / Genesis 2 Essentials.

I hope somebody knows for sure how to fix this for you, I only state what worked in my case with Victoria 7.

French Twist Hair (Gen3F)   and Jolina.  Using Oh! My Sweetheart Poses     Badlands Roamer Outfit

The Sweetheart Poses are fun, the hands are well done with the finger positions. You get a vampy feel, frisky and innocent. Take a look at them and you'll see what I mean. You'll like that the vendor has the Girl 7 and Gen3F easily separated for you- two distinct menus. 

 I just loaded Jolina and kudos to the vendor- she's hippy! Not a perfect figure, not a skinny-Minny (where the heck did that expression come from?)  Will be doing the same Painter's Lights setup as I'm trying to show you as many gals/guys as I can as fast as I can, in a reasonably lit manner.  Have a lot I'd like to get through that are in featured stores. (Arrrgh.) 

Note on the French Twist  hair- very few color options. ONLY THREE.  Blonde, Brown, Red. You have to buy the colors separately. (Just use Slosh's shaders, frankly. If you don't have those or another Iray Hair Shader- think about it! Save a lot of money on hair colors.) 

The Badlands Roamer has skin tight shorts, but at least it's family friendly in back. I got it for the boots and wrist thinga-ma-jiggies. (Don't you love it when I'm so technical?)  Love those boots!

Another note- the vendor included Iray for versions 4.8 and 4.9. for Jolina.  VERY THOUGHTFUL!!! Thank you @Raiya

Yes, you can for most hairs. I do this all the time. If both the hairs are by the same vendor, usually the colors will match up fine. If not (and even if so), I *highly* recommend UHT2: Ultimate Color and UHT2: Fantasy Colors. At least one of the promos shows two hairs being used together. More examples are in the promos for my Reagan character. Almost all of them use Legacie Hair bangs with something else. UHT2 makes it easier to combine them because of the tiling feature, so if the UVs are vastly different sizes you won't have one part of the hair with super thick strands and another with super thin ones. You can adjust the sections until they're close to even.

Some of Fisty's Ring Collection with the Ginnifer earrings and Monika bracelets. Gossamer outfit necklace. Anjou Hair stock black preset.  AElflaed's Fancy Shaders on, Hot Topic top, Yulia skirt protection (Panties), and HOT Cheerleader 1 (top zones invisible).

Those are Ginnifer's maps, I just got lazy and just used the settings I made for Yulia on Ginnifer's maps, it looked good enough to me. I'll need to get them together, because there is a difference in color between them (that's good).

Nothing spectacular as far as mixing figure shapes, just a bit of extra adjustment "down there".

I've tried keyboard shortcuts and creating auxillary windows for side and back camera.  But I'm still taking 30 minutes to get one pose. My characters are kinda floatingin negative gravity with bad centers of gravity all the time, then I have to worry about the center axis point constantly moving after applying pre-made mposes.

I am willing to download any plugin that may help.  (aside from purchasing a physical doll which don't exist and connexion mouse which wouldn't help since i'm posing not sculpting).

ditto what richard said.  :)  if i can get just the lower neck, upper neck, head and eyes posed well in an hour, i'm feeling lucky...

i do hear what you're saying, though...it's be great if one or two of daz's resident wizards came up with a script that'd link joint/bone movement in a more realistic way--or apply some dialable correction to an existing pose to make the interaction between the joints more lifelike and balanced...even on a figure that's had limits turned off, which most pose sets pretty much demand.

i expect that'd be a must-buy for tons of studio users...but it'd also take years to develop, likely enough.  and by the time a genesis 3 version was ready to roll out, daz would probably be shipping victoria 9.  :)

I bought a bundle for Victoria 4.2 and it had 3 elite skins-textures not sure what they are called. Anyway, everything I bought installed but these 4 items and it says I need Bryce and carrara. Is this really necessary, and if so, how do I install them?

I wouldn't say "over", just the harsh reality that they're no longer flavor of the month. I buy new DAZ Genesis 1 content whenever it pops up, but I've accepted that it's a rarity. And there'll always be some older products in the store for it, given it's built-in compatibility with Generation 4 items (heck, even Generation 3 items work well enough with a little tweaking). I bought Sickleyield's Genesis 2 M/F clones for Genesis way back, which expands the versatility of my Genesis 1 library even further.
In the meantime, Genesis 2 is still going to have products for it coming in, though it's going to be slowing down as Genesis 3 figures are the focus, and that's ok.That's always going to happen every few years. And even with that, there's still other cool stuff like props, scenes, etc. that will still work with the older figures.

To me, it's like a Playstation 2 or SNES situation. Yeah, the shiny new consoles are going to come out and new stuff for my beloved ones will trickle down to nothing, but there's an entire library I have to fill up with very likely bargain basement prices, so it's all good.

Anyway, Genesis is a versatile figure (whenever it's 1, 2 or 3 (or furthermore, since all the sales we got, I think the Genesis 4 (so Victoria 8) generation hit the market next month !) with some scripts, tweaks.
Also, there is other website where you can share and download assets (in all legality), like ShareCG, DeviantART & co.
So.. I'm also happy with what I got during the PC+ sale, for myself, I will stop here, I need now a break, A LONG break :D (around playing with my new toys purchased from DAZ3D !)

Going to be focusing on the lower priced deals for you. (Note: the prices have changed since these were posted. It's a great time to check these out, they're even lower as of 6:20am.)

You know how sometimes you wonder if you are missing a pose pack for a product you own? If you have the The Firearm Pack, the Heiress Spy Tales II:Family Business  is $3.11 (all prices assume purchase of New/Debut and PC member.)  Even if you don't own it, those poses sure save you some time and are good starting points to tweak action poses.

60 Ultimate Dance Poses has been in my wishlist, and wow, it's $2.58. That's a steal! 

Okay, read on before you jump to conclusions from the title- Fashion Model Poses for Michael 7  are NOT just fashion- as a matter of fact, note the following. Look at the second thumbnail- all four of those poses are good, casual poses and will save you time from having to pose your figure. Then, looking at the first thumbnail (grayed out) there are several laying on his side ones that are casual (which are not shown enlarged. You really have to look at those in the first thumb to see why this one is a casual pose set, not a FASHION MODEL one IMO.)   Back to the regular thumbs, the one with his hands above his head would be great for a reclining pose, or in bed pose. All this for only $2.59!

Now think out of the box with Jepe's WonderSheetZ for Victoria 7.  I don't have these (yet) but I imagine you can load it on the figure, then opague the figure and the sheet will still be there- think of all the places you can drape these and use shaders to change up the materials!  The second product (WonderSheetz II has more garment looking ones, and is a higher price. Still a great deal, only $4.32 (!!!)  and if you'd rather have more of a clothing look, be sure and scout that one in the store.)  The first one is great for portrait backgrounds too. I like that it is BOTH 3DL and Iray! Explore Jepe's store to see the rest of the sheets/products.

You can see the stitching from these first two renders, I wasn't going to show the outfit at all (as this is dark and I didn't light it) but want you to get the overall feel of it. Adrianna isn't sure if it's coming or going, but she's going!  I used the Above the Clouds For Iray Nimbostratus for fog/ wispy smoke. So easy! I did a bit of smudge/add more white/gray/charcoal along the back wall to blend a bit (so if you don't like that part, it's ME, lol.)  I love the Prison Clothes and Scrubs  because you get two uses from them. She's wearing Char Hair. It's actually a hair that in my opinion can be used for  "had a long day, don't judge me" type renders. (been there, looked like that. After an hour at the barn!) 

BTW, I recommend Autopsy by @TheAntFarm because the details are really good, and you can use it for other things. The room loads empty and it could easily be any kind of interior clinical room as long as you don't show the um, insert-the-bodies-in-here section. I wanted to show you that cart as it loads full size (not sure about the reasoning on that, it's not long enough for bodies but extremely large!) as it would make a good cart when shrunk down for other things. DONE I'll do a few more renders of just the room. I LOVE that all walls load separately! Yes!  

I hid a wall to get this shot, the room is fully enclosed. Very thoughtfully planned. Kudos!

Like I said, shoes usually do not work well outside of the generation they were made for.

FWSA Shiloh checking out the Modular Lounge from the Future Quiet deck on the GIS Sigma ship. I think she is ready for a night out with that Keyhole Style and her hair done up in the Kylan style. The reserved Ring Collection with the Ginnifer bracelets and ear rings are a nice complement to the Wild Spirit necklace. Perfect moment for a selfie, lol.

I'll be completely open with what settings I have fussed with thus far. I did not do much with Shiloh's basic shape, tho I did look at a possible variation "Down there" with some new dials I added to the set. I'm not totally sold on those specific settings, tho the dials appear to work well.

I also did look at a alt shader for her as well, I may stick with this for now as it looks really good.

Over all, I'll need to fuss around a tad more I think, tho Shiloh is as much of a pleasant surprise as Izabella7 was in the former post  .
