Haven't tried it yet, but couldn't you take morphs from Hiro3 to Genesis, to Genesis 2 Male, to Genesis 3 Male, and the texture maps from H3 to Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 3 Male?

I did this in my WIP here. That's Nova for V6 and the Sci Fi Siren Outfit (part of the Sci Fi Warrior Bundle which I think came free with DAZ Studio 4.9) with the V4.2 Bodysuit underneath. Not perfect yet, still needs tweaking.

 

And check out the Poncho Girl outfit today.

Those both look really nice! It's rather funny that we don't have a lot of ponchos in the store. I like the Southwestern flair promo image.

I also purchased "Lana" http://www.daz3d.com/v4-elite-texture-lana and will experiment with that.

I had only been using the Smart Content to create scenes, I never used Runtime. Thanks

I think both of those are in the Candy Cane Bundle. That's FW Sandy HD and Zari. I bought Zari. She's gorgeous, and extremely dark- a little challenging to get the lighting on her right. Here's a test render I did with her. I used Lilith 7's golden eyes, the ones that come with her seemed too pale. Still tweaking the lights to bring out all her beauty!

That is true, but even with a "female" weight map he will still bend much better than using the original H3 figure. As I said elsewhere the bigger issue is having to auto-fit all the clothing, but in my experience it is easier to autofit male clothing to a female figure, than vice versa.

I've been doing the same thing with skimpy outfits- putting body suits and other things underneath. My characters are sexy, but they don't like running around with stuff hanging out. Especially the female Supers. When they want to kick butt, the last thing they want to worry about is a wardrobe malfunction, LOL.

I feel your pain. The newer generations of Aiko are lovely in their own way, but they've stepped further and further away from the style of A3 and H3. They have more in common with videogame characters than most of the manga characters I've enjoyed reading in imports over the years. And Hiro 5 was totally creepy in his proportions - it is no wonder they don't make Hiros like that anymore!

However, working within Genesis 1 has its pluses. :)

If you get the Genesis clones for A3 and H3, take advantage of Genesis' compatibility with M4 and V4 textures. That way you can use skin textures for A4 and H4 (which are really just morphs for Victoria 4 and Michael 4). You can also pick up some of the Anime Eyes packages for V4 and M4. You may also want to pick up the A4 and H4 clones for Genesis while you're at it. Genesis will let you dial in more than one character morph at a time and you might find that a blend of A3 and A4 looks better to you than just vanilla A3 or A4 would.

 

Yeah it sucks that Aiko no longer looks like the anime girls I've fell in love with. But hopefully I can get some of these morphs working again. I found some of my old renders with the large eyes and I would like to try to recreate that

What is "autfito"?

If you fit an item of clothing to a figure it was not made for (assuming the figure has metadata to say which it is) then the AutoFit dialogue opens, allowing you to set the figure the clothing was originally made for and optionally the type of clothing. Daz provides each version of Genesis with clones for the previous generation (so Genesis has Victoria 4, Michael 4 and Kids 4; Genesis 2 has Genesis and so on) as well as, for Genesis 2 and Genesis 3, clones for the same geenration's opposite sex. Those clones are what is needed to convert a piece of clothing (and theya re the source of the list of original figures in the AutoFit dialogue) so without buying anything else you can go in steps from Victoria 4 to Genesis 3 Female (or Male). There are add-ons, such as the Wear Them All sets, that alow you to skip several generations (which should give cleaner results) but they are not essential.

The one thing we lack in the world of Daz are clear-cut Latino characters. If we get those, then we might have a well rounded cast of characters. Of course, then we could fight over whether the Latino characters should be of the Carribean type (like Puerto Rico) or the Central and South American type I guess. LOL Then I suppose you can research population ethnicities and percentages of you really want to get technical and base your characters on that ;). Me? I wouldn't worry about it and just use what you want ;).

BD Esther is a beautiful Spanish character for V7.

I love BD Esther! So much so that I put her on the cover of my book and am using her as the main character in all my promo art for Black Kat. 

I can't remember who said something about good looking Asian men, but there are quite a few in the DAZ store and I've certainly known a fair share. And gorgeous Amer-Asian ones too, though I'm not even sure that's the proper term anymore. I married a man who is half Korean, half German and very handsome. Everyone mistook him for Native American and called him "Chief." We had two beautiful children together. One looks more Asian, the other looks Scottish, like me. Go figure.

Genetics are fascinating and so is seeing how they're respesented in art.
