Why do people keep spreading this false information? "Does not work that fast"? Based on what evidence? Because the evidence and data points to the oposite:
Victoria 5 - Release Date: 2011-10-25
Victoria 6- Release Date: 2013-06-20 (less than 2 years after V5 release)
Victoria 7- Release Date: 2015-06-23 (almost exactly 2 years after V6 release)If their figure release dates continue with the same time frame as it has in the past, Victoria 8 WILL come out this year.
You mean Genesis 4 Victoria 7 is Genesis 3 if im remembering correctly
I'm not sure what you're talking about - your sentance isn't very clear. Victoria 5 is Genesis 1, Victoria 6 is Genesis 2, Victoria 7 is Genesis 3. So Victoria 8 will be Genesis 4. We will likely get Victoria 8 (Genesis 4) released in June of this year (if the past releases are an indication of future release dates).
So saying that "Genesis 4 is not coming this year" is likely inacurate and saying that "Daz Does not work that fast" is inacurate - given past release dates of the new figure lines.

Suggestion: "one click" pose correction toolHey there,
I suggest a "one click" pose correction tool but I really do not know if it is possible or easy to create such a product.
Here is the subject:
There are many DAZ Characters out there like G3F itself, Victoria 7, Bethany 7, Olympia 7 and many more and for some of these characters we have a lot of poses and for some just a view and we want to use Victoria 7 poses also for Bethany 7 for example, or for Olympia 7 and here begins the problem. Some poses created for Victoria 7 work fine also for Bethany 7 or Olympia 7 without the need of fixing but others do not and need fixings (most of the time colar, shoulder, forearm and pelvis and lower abdomen - bending, twising, front/back and so). And here comes my suggestion. What about a "one click" pose correction that makes it possible to load a Victoria 7 pose to Bethany 7 and then just one button click and the pose automatically corrects to Bethany 7 or maybe to Olympia 7 and so on?

New Iray render engine. Too good to be true?Hi Mendoman do you have a nvidia card ,which one ,curious because I am thinking of buying one I am on a Radeon card. at the minute
Yup, I have older version ( Maxwell I think ) Titan X. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this new update made those newer models ( was it Pascal? ) to work with DS too. Can't test that of course, but I think I read it from some other threads. If I was buying a new card, those 10-series sure sound nice with price/performance perspective, but they have less memory than titan series.I just made a quick test, and for example Victoria 7 ( normal maps off ) with render sublevel 2 takes about 560 MB of memory ( if I understand those new verbose stats correctly ), so depending what kind of scenes you make, buy a card that has enough memory.
As a side note, this new engine version also shows memory usage of geometry and textures and stuff like that. It's so nice to see how much memory your scene takes. At least I can see info like this from Victoria 7 default DAZ lights:

You got me on that. I'm always amazed at the folk that know where the clothing, hair, and figures are from. At least for the realistic models. If I had to guess I would guess a V4 / M4 generation figure, maybe Stephanie 4?
No not Victoria 4 or Stephanie 4
I have no idea but I want to say it maybe a Vicki 3 character? I don't have any of that generation though so wouldn't be able to tell.
Close but not exactly
Multiple issues with Overknee boots for G2I'm finding that fitting the OverKnee Lace-up Boots for G2F (SKU:20444) to Genesis 3 female models is producing very weird results with the characters foot sticking out the top of the shoe. As an experiement I also tried fitting it as if it had come from a Victoria 4 model and the foot was matched corectly but the whole garment was displaced latterally slightly.
Would love to know if I'm doing something wrong and/or if the product can be ajusted to fit properly.
Also there appears to be missing metadata as the product comes with a pair of poses that are visible when viewing the product library but not visible in the smart content pane while selecting the item. I would have guessed it would work like the peep-toe heels which also have a fitting pose which is properly referenced/vissible in smart content.
Thanks for any help. Would love to be able to use this product! (with a minimum of muss and fuss :))
what hair is this?Well, there are some options available. If you have the morph packages for Genesis 3 Female, you may be able to reproduce a reasonable facsimile yourself with a little time and effort. It may not be an exact match, since it is quite possible the character was created with the aid of a modelling program. Alternatively, if you had the Pretty Base IV character for V4, and the GenX2 product, and the Genesis 2 add-on for GenX2, and the GenX2 add-on for Genesis 3, and something like the Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Female or similar Victoria 4 clones, it may be possible to transfer Pretty Base IV to Genesis 3 Female. A lot of conversion is involved, and whether the resultant character would be close to the one in the promos remains to be seen. Personally, I'd be inclined to go with option 1. For example, here's a stab at it using the morphing sliders on G3F:

Apply V4 textures to G2F & G3F ???I have converted many V4 Skin textures to G2F.
If you purchase Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female then you can just apply V4 skin presets that are in DUF format to G2F. The problem is that almost no V4 skin presets are in DUF format. The best way to get them in DUF format is to apply them to V4 and then do a Save As -> Material Preset to create the preset in DUF format. If you don't have V4, you can use Genesis which is free but if you have V4 it is better to use V4.
When you apply the skin preset to G2F that you saved from V4, the skin will not correctly line up. Don't Panic. This is because the UVs are wrong. V4 does not support multiple UVs, so when you save a material preset from V4 it specifies default UVs. The default UVs for G2F are the G2F base UVs. To fix this all you need to do is select all the surfaces and find the UVs drop down in the surface properties (location in list depends on what shader is used, but usually near the bottom). It will say Base Female and you want to change that to Victoria 4. (If Victoria 4 is not on the list, this probably means you don't have Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female) installed.
If you have the G2F Genitials, the V4 texture can also be directly applied to it.
The same thing applies to M4 textures on G2M. You will need Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male. The only difference is that M4 genital textures cannot be automatically transfered to G2M genitials. There are some threads on how to do manual conversions, but I have never attempted that.
For G3F there is the Cayman studio product at Rendo and Blacksmith's texture transformer also at Rendo. I have not used either. The Cayman Studio product claims to support G3F genitials. I could not find anything about genitials in the texture transformer description.

Apply V4 textures to G2F & G3F ???Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female allows you to use V4 textures on Genesis 2 Females. It also gives G2F a V4 clone and lets you use V4 clothes on G2F. It's a great product that I highly recommend for anyone who uses G2F. :)
what hair is this? The character is Pretty3D's signature "Pretty" character, that version being one for Genesis 3 Female. Pretty3D made the first version for their promos from Victoria 3, and. after much demand, eventually offered the character for sale. The same thing happened with their Victoria 4 version. Since then, some Genesis x version has appeared in their promos, but the character itself has not been offered, presumably because there hasn't been the same demand. Bottom line is, the Genesis 3 character is not available at this time.
Llynara's Loony Bin (WIP Thread)Reposting from Novica's massive thread, since it got lost:
Llynara's Top Ten List for 2016
Now that I'm done shopping for the year (holy cow!!!) I can start thinking about my top ten. Got some great deals today and really need to stay off the sales page and start using this stuff. It's hard to narrow it down to just ten. There are so many great PAs and products, but here's what I've used and loved the most this year:
#1: NGS Anagenesis 2 Revolution Shaders - These skin shaders are a game changer, especially for older items. They literally breathe new life into characters who were not designed for Iray. Sometimes takes some tweaking but a very worthwhile investment.
#2: Epic Props: Dynamic Lens Flare and Starburst Prop for Iray : I love Philopher's products, everything I've used has been excellent so far and his support is fantastic. He often makes video tutorials too. I used his lens flare in the pic below for the redo of the cover of my first book (still a WIP) as well as the Anagenesis Shaders on M4 and V4:

#3: Iradiance: The entire line of products by Dimension Theory as freaking amazing. I use the HDR Light Probes a lot, and I used the IRadiance Sunset HDRIs as the background and lighting in the scene above.
#4 Lilith 7 - I didn't buy her at first, but she has really grown on me. She's versatile and interesting. I think she has a "presence" about her that's mesmerizing. Some people have Naked Vicky in a Temple with a Sword (NVIATWAS), I've got Lilith! She's my go to girl now. I wuv her so. Here's my latest render of her that came together nicely:
She's wearing the Mistress Arachne Outfit. I used #5, GI Dome for Iray and 3Delight, and added a glow in Photoshop. She's standing in The Alchemy Chasm, which I tried to texture for Iray, but I decided I didn't have to. I could hide the imperfections by using DOF instead. I used Flipmode's tutorial as well as Jay's excellent instructions here. I really like the results!

#5 GDI Dome for Iray and 3Delight: Just got this and LOVE it! OMG, I can't stop playing with it and it's HUGE, for both rendering engines. Can't beat that! It's a soft light, and pairs very well with a glow in Photoshop. I love how it made Lilith's skin look and that's without any additionals shaders. She's straight out of the box without any makeup or tweaks.
#6 Wear Them All: I can't live without the product. It makes my entire Product Library useful.
#7 Cayman's UV Products- all of them. I think I have most of them, and it's wonderful to be able to use older skins on newer characters.
#8 BD Esther for V7 HD: I loved her enough to make her my Black Kat and put her on the first book cover in that series. Belladzines makes some incredible characters.

#9 Ron Deviney's Brushes: all of them. I use them a LOT. They make postwork an absolute joy. You can take a half way decent render and turn it into something really special with his brushes. I used the fog brushes in the book cover above. I used his Light Fusion brushes here to do the special effects, along with item #10. I can't wait to play with his latest Fireflies brushes.

#10 Marshian's Back Rim Light Rig: All of Marshian's products are fantastic. I haven't even begun to play with all his stuff I've picked up recently, which is the only reason they aren't all on the Top 10. He does amazing, unique products. I just wish this one was for Iray. It works great in 3Delight and comes with these incredible hair shaders. Combined with Ron's brushes, it really made Jacob, my energy shifter, come to life.
Honorable mentions:
- Parker for Lucian 7: Probably one of the best male characters I've ever seen. He just came out and I haven't had a chance to play with him yet. All of Darwin's characters are fabulous, and it's great that he lets us watch over his shoulder at what he's doing next. Can't wait to play more with his current peeps and to see the new ones!
- Toons Generation 2: Just came out and I am loving them! So much fun! They are a game changer for making anything more toony in DAZ.
- Hex Arcanum- Iggy's work is gorgeous as usual, I just haven't had time to play much yet
- Iray Ghost Light Kit- same, just bought, will probably be a fave of 2017, along with ElianeCK's HDRI set that I just picked up today.
Question about DSON Importer for PoserInstall Victroia 4, and any other content. In the isntall folder (the library you are using) go to /Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ and double-click the DzCreate ExPFiles-v4 batch file. You will need to redo that anytime you add a new ExP moprh expansion (all of which must be in the same external Runtime as the base figure). That's it - load the figure from the DAZ People folder in the Figure library, go to DAZ's Victoria 4 in the Pose library for poses, materials, and the INJ poses that lod (inject) the morph sets ready for use.
Using parts of G3F as base mesh for clothing?Hi Chohole,
Would this clause of the EULA cover it?
Three Dimensional Works. Daz wishes to encourage the expansion of the catalog of Content available to its users. Accordingly, User may access, use, copy, and modify the Content to create one or more derived or additional three-dimensional works provided that:
- any such derived or additional three-dimensional works are designed to require or encourage the use of CRT Content available through the online Daz store either by (i) requiring the use of such CRT Content to function, or (ii) allowing only limited function when not used in conjunction with CRT Content from the online Daz store; and
- upon receipt of a written request from Daz, User immediately ceases any and all distribution of the art that User has created from the CRT Content, if Daz has determined, in its sole discretion, that (i) such art is substantially similar to or is a clone of existing Content; or (ii) such derived or additional work fails to require the use of Content available through the online Daz store.
The clothing would "require or encourage the use of CRT Content available through the online DAZ store," as it wouldn't be or do anything unless it's on a G3F-based figure. I guess DAZ could determine "in its sole discretion" that my clothing was "substantially similar to or a clone of existing Content" because the original mesh was extracted from parts of G3F, even though I would have removed some faces from the extracted mesh, smoothed and rolled edge lines, added textures and wrinkle sculpting, and rigged it to auto-fit G3F (including some morphs I've made).
If so, that raises the question, can anyone except DAZ's in-house artists create geograft clothing like the Victoria 7 Vigilante Pants? Indeed any morph is made the same way, by modifying G3F's base resolution mesh, and what I have in mind involves a lot more original work than making a morph.
Thanks,
Crissie
