GEN X2 Help
What was the morph you were trying to move over. Some of Thorne's morphs distort the eyes, although not as extreme as you are showing. Try using the product with some different morphs as well.
Angel for V4. I have the starter for victoria 4.2 I don't know what's wrong because I followed the video tutorials on youtube. This product is such a disapointment. I hope you can help me
I do not have Angel for V4, but I have successfully transferred over V4 characters onto Genesis 1-3. You have to load the V4 CR2 as the source, ideally a V4 CR2 file that you had injected V4++ morphs into. Then follow these steps:
1) Click "Apply Pose" and browse to the pz2 file for the shape of Angel for V4.
2) In the morph tree list, right click and select: All->Transfer On for non-zero values.
3) In Mode select "Create single morph"
4) In target, select Genesis 3 Female (or Genesis 2 Female)
5) Press Transfer.
In the popup box type what you want to call the morph (eg Angel). If there are no errors, then load a new version of G3F, and dial the Angel morph, and V4 to 100%.
Actually I think the reason why this is happening is because I haven't morphed the character to Victoria 4.2 yet but I can't find the Victoria 4.2 in the shaping tab when I select Genesis so I don't know what I'm doing wrong considering I dragged and dropped the morph ++ and the Victoria 4.2
Look Under Parameters->Actor->Generation X->***People*** and you should see the V4 shape there.
I don't see it, I've looked everywhere I really don't know why it doesn't show up the only morph that shows up is the angel for v4 not the Victoria 4.2. I don't even have the **people** in the tabs.
do you have a Generation X entry under Actor?
This is what shows up when I apply the base Victoria 4.2 morph and its injections. Seems like nothing is being transferred because from what I've read the "T" in the apply pose indicates the number of morphs to be converted and in my case it's 0.

Missing Victoria 4.2 morphsThose are the morphs for V4toV3 - a figure that wears Victoria 3 clothes but gives the Victoria 4 head, morphs, and UVs. Theer should also be a folder called Victroia 4. In any event, if you are using Carrara you need to run the DzCreateExPFiles-v4 script for your OS - .bat for Windows, .command for Mac, in /Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ.

Carrara?its there but bit overshadowed by their star app DAZ studio.
http://www.daz3d.com/carrara-8-5-pro
its gone very cheap at times but currently not a bad price
You'd have to be crazy to pay $285 for seven year old software. Someone on here recently said they got it from the Daz store for $1.13. (no, that is not a typo) At this point, Daz shold give it away just for visitning the forum.
Right, but that was a store error. They're not going to take it back and ask them to pay what they were supposed to - they just fix the issue and move on.
Here's the thing:
If having a full environmental creation system which opens Poser figures natively with morphs and working joints without having to jump through a bunch of hoops, as well as being a modeling app to boot, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better deal.
Maybe I'm crazy, but for what Carrara does for me, I'd gladly pay $285 over buying anything else. But I am also not chasing the latest figure technology from Daz3d either. If you want to use Genesis 3, then you'd have to wait and see if Carrara gets upgraded. I am still very happily using the Michael 4 and Victoria 4 family of figures and other original figures using that same rigging system.
I also love Carrara's native render engine - it can be set to render extremely fast or really slow, depending on what we want. I always go for speed - for animations.
This one takes a little over two minutes at this quality. Very simple lighting and a couple of lighting effects to create the light cones. The outer glow seen around lit objects is Carrara's "Aura" effect that I really like using. It's not perfect, as you can see here, but is just right for my animations. For higher quality glows, we can easily do what most people do and add them in post. I do both. I run the aursa in Carrara, and then when I enhance the clips in post, they end up looking fabulous.

Here is that back corridor we see right of center in the above render

Different colored lighting and adding Genesis 2 Female, which does work in Carrara 8.5

This is the ship that the above scenes are inside of - this one being a kit-bash. The smoke/haze in this one is Carrara's Volumetric Clouds, the engine fire is tweaked out Carrara fire

Something entirely different

GEN X2 HelpAre you adding the Morphs++ into Gen X2 for this character? Since they have to be dragged and dropped into Gen X2 manually..
Also some character morphs that just refuse to work no matter what.. Although I have converted many of my stock of V4 characters with little hassle, there has been the occasional one that has not worked.. I had one where when I dialed in the morph G2 exploded..
One last thing is this for Genesis, Genesis 2 or Genesis 3?
Yes I've added the morphs ++ manually like dragged and dropped it but I haven't seen it in the shapings tab when I selected the Genesis figure. Maybe that's what's wrong but I don't know why I there's no Victoria 4.2 in the actions tab when I select the Genesis but there's the v4 character morph.
Missing Victoria 4.2 morphsThat location may work if you want to inject single morphs. But if you want to inject all morphs at once, there is another location, assuming your morphs are installed correctly..
The browser path:
Content>DAZ Studio content runtime (or named something similar)>Poses>DAZ's Victoria 4 (NOT DAZ Victoria 4)>Morph Injections.
Click on Morph Injections, and NOT any of the items which open from the triangle under it.
All the morphs you can currently inject into V4 should now be listed. The pictures with the big white plus signs will load all of a particular morph set, if you have selected V4 in the instances tray.
Hope this helps!
Missing Victoria 4.2 morphsI have Victoria with the basis morphs. Besides that I have the Victoria 4.2 Morphs++. But no idea how to use them, because I cannot find them. They are installed in C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\V4toV3\Deltas\Morphs++. Any idea where they are located in Carrara. Or do I have to inject or something like that and if so, how?
I do not have the DAZ CMS installed. Could not solve that.

GenX2 Update / Genesis 3 Add-On [Commercial]Can someone help me with this? I've followed the video tutorials on youtube but this still happened, really disappointed with the product good thing I havent purchased the g2 and g3 add ons yet. I was trying to convert the angel for v4, the morphs worked except for the eyes and teeth. I also used the victroia 4.2 starter bundle. Also I wasn't able to find the Victoria 4 morph in the shapings tab when the Genesis is selected even though I've dragged it to the Gen x tab and converted it.

Victoria 4 and Victoria 4.2I wouldn't worry about it, I only have Victoria 4.2 and all Victoria 4 products and characters work perfectly with her.
Is there any way to use Genesis 3 clothes or Genesis 2 clothes on Victoria 4? :)
I don't think so. I know that you can use G3F and G2F clothes on Genesis 1 with clones. But I don't know of any way to use genesis clothes on V4.
By the way may I know what character you're using in your profile? :)
That's my muse, Athyn. :) She's a custom dialed Genesis 2 character with about 60 morphs dialed in, including morphs from 7 freebie characters and 3 bought characters. Along with a custom skin I made in Photoshop by combining the G3F base skin textures with Victoria 7's skin textures and my own hand painted displacement maps (using this product, so I can use G3F mats on the G2F character).
She was a bit of work to get just how I wanted her, but I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. :) She's definitely my favorite character.

By the way can you still use the generation 2 expressions when you've converted v4 characters to Genesis 2? :)
I bring the texture maps into Photoshop and lower the opacity (to use as a guide) and under that texture layer I paint in grayscale where I want the raises and decreases (like the knuckles, tendons, etc).
As far as the expressions I don't know. I've never converted a V4 character to Genesis 2.
Oh I hope you can make a tutorial on that :) How do you make the V4 look good then? :)
hi does anybody know what model this is who she isRussell HD for Michael 7You're right. ALL of Raiya's characters look great. We need more distinctive men before Genesis 4 comes.
Don't worry, July is half a year away, and even then, the male version probably won't come until November. EVEN THEN, most products afterwards will be "for G4M and G3M" for a while...
LMAO Genesis 4 aint coming for another couple years buddy, hold your horses
I wish! But if you've noticed how the Genesis figures been released, they've followed a consistent pattern: each one lasting only two years post launch, then on to the next one almost immediately in July.
Yep, if they keep up with the same release schedule as they did with releasing Victoria 6 and Victoria 7, we should see Victoria 8 near the end of June of this year.
