I'll start by saying I quite like Ergou's hair. They render nicely and aren't very taxing on systems. I'm also aware that the artist hasn't historically done much with morphs aside from occasionally some wind morphs, and I have found in the past that some of their hairs conform to strange parts of the body—Cong Hair, for example, moves with the shoulders and upper arms, despite only reaching the neck and hence can sometimes position itself in odd ways with poses.

The thing I'm particularly wondering about though is the 4 movement morphs included with this hair:

I was messing around with them in studio and they only ever looks bizarre. What sort of scenarios would require this kind of movement? It's only of one very specific part of the hair (the front left bang, (or right from our perspective)), so it doesn't help much with tilting the head up or down, or any kind of wind, being that the rest of the hair remains completely still. Also, the way it bends means that you couldn't have it pointing in any direction either, as it keeps its S shape. The strand doesn't have bones or anything either, so you can't manually rotate it. 

Does hair made as Daz Originals have a morph quota or something, so they just chucked some random morph options in? Or, hopefully, are there some use cases/poses that these kind of morphs would help with, and I just haven't thought of them yet? 

Again, I like the hair, I just wish it had some useful morphs. You can never go wrong with a couple of wind presets.

Strand based hair? Look at my Hair Strand based hair, hard coded strand based hair or the DAZ-native strand based hair? with the latter I can work :)

Is there a point in owning both or them or has one of them a morph to change the shape a little bit?

I came quiete along with the Sailor Warriors, but whoever knews the anime knews: You need Artemis and Luna (the magic cats) to complete it ;-)

 The DAZ version of Zeus has dforce. Mars has DAZ SBH. I would assume the 'Hub version of Zeus does, as well. IIRC, she did post a fibermesh hair file for Zeus in the original Zeus thread in the Commons.

The only real reason to get them both is if you want the different morphs. The cats themselves are the same.

The hair for Zeus in the Hub version is SBH, not dForce. Not a deal breaker :)

I reinstalled Daz and put all my contents to another driver, that solved the problem, took me a whole 2 days to reinstall all my stuff. i'm pretty sure Daz's postgresql caused all this, it mess up users local enviorment often, before all morph disappear on these products, I got a "log in error' saying my postgresql wasn't linked. by the time I logged in, that's when things starting getting messy.   Daz should really leave their users local enviorment alone.

 Thanks again Richard for following up! This one has so many different morphs, from different packages. Some are upper body morphs. Some are just arms, shoulders, etc. so how do I determine if or which one is doing it? Just toggle each one until it fixes itself?

Rawart is hoping for a release SO, given that when Genesis, which was an amazing jump forward for 3D, was provided a free Gorilla [temporary offer], I'm going to suggest "maybe" Genesis 9 and a free RawArt special something [hopefully for both genders]. Genesis 9 of course requires D/S5.003.045.2 [or something like that], will be the best still rendering program on the market AND also very good at animating :-) Will not require new hardware over and above the 3060/3090 series although should work of course with the new 4000 series. Will include a new, WORKING, Hexagon built in or on the side with a decent working bridge. Will include the fancy Morph Loader PA edition so we can make HD morphs too [maybe not to sell or redistribute save through the store, fine by me], and oh yes, as default poses for figures have a habit of changing, we might expect G9 to be in the fetal position. This will make it easier for the alien transition morphs [maybe]. Comes with A and T posing presets AND ALL the required A and T posed autofit clones [I DID put out tutorials on how to, so hopefully somebody read them] [and include the fetal position autofit clones too 'cause hay] ... and a beautiful Friesian Morph for Horse 2.

I've had a subscription with DAZ for a very long time. Not just PC/DAZ+ but buying products constantly. I could have purchased a new car with all I spend here.  

The fact that you had subdivided it changed the geometry even if you dial back the sub-d.....you can only edit the base mesh and bring it back with the same base mesh (just with verts in different positions for your morph)

generation x2 plugin was reccomended but need specific instruction how to use this???

I'm trying to export a prop, I've played with the subd levels but no matter what I do when I try and import it as a morph it comes in with wrong geometry.  Please help.

I'm with you on this.  A thread at Reddit hints at Genesis 9, but what can Genesis 9 possibly bring us that Genesis 8 (never mind 8.1; what was that mess about?) bring us that has value?

And I'm asking this as a serious question to non-hobbyists / professionals / actual artists who might know.  What could Genesis 9 bring to the table?  What could Daz incorporate that would be an actual improvement?  Streamlining morph loads?  I'm curious.

I can't see them putting Daz Studio on a subscription model.

Razor blades and printer ink.  They want the lowest barrier possible to starting, and then to get you hooked on buying the next sale of content.

Yes, switch to Smooth Shaded Drawstyle and redo the images. This is in the little sphere icon to the elft of the camera/view picker at top-right of the Viewport

I don't have grasb helper, but I don't think what you want can be done with that. For that I think you would need a morph.

Maybe it could be done with mesh grabber.

Renting the software would definitely be a deal breaker for me. I'd rather pay for a version and be able to use it into perpetuity. I have a problem with software that turns off as soon as you stop forking over your money.
